Kentucky football lands JUCO defensive line transfer Dennious Jackson

JUCO transfer Dennious Jackson commits to Kentucky football on Monday.

Just a few days after adding defensive tackle Kalen Edwards to the 2025 recruiting class, Kentucky football landed some help for the 2024 class as well. With depth needed, JUCO transfer Dennious Jackson has committed to the Wildcats.

Jackson is a defensive tackle with tremendous size at 6’5″, 335 lbs. He transfers to Kentucky from Contra Costa College, which is in San Pablo, California, choosing the Wildcats over mostly a selection of smaller schools. He announced the news in a post on the social platform X.

The Wildcats suffered a huge injury this offseason, when Josaih Hayes tore his Achilles, which will result in him missing the 2024 season. Hayes was expected to be the starter in the middle of the defensive line, and one of the key run stoppers.

With Hayes’ absence, Kentucky could go with a rotation at defensive tackle, and Jackson could find himself on the field early on. He has a chance to be an impact transfer, which the Wildcats could use.
