Deion Sanders’ wallet, cell phone robbed out of locker room

What was stolen from the locker room of Jackson State head coach Deion Sanders during his coaching debut?

The joy of victory Sunday did not last long for Deion Sanders and Jackson State.

After a 53-0 victory over Edward Waters in Sanders’ coaching debut, “Prime Time” discovered belongings had been robbed from his locker.

Sanders said credit cards, a cell phone and a wallet had been taken.

“I have mixed emotions,” Sanders said after the romp. “The kids played really well. While the game was going on somebody came in stole every darn thing I had in the locker room, in the coach’s office. …

“How do you think it feels? Coming back, teary-eyed because the guys had presented me with the game ball. One of the best moments I had in my professional sports career emotionally. And then you go into your locker room and you notice you don’t even have a phone to call your momma, your girl, your kids, because it’s been stolen. You don’t even have the Scutlly hat that you wore here. We’re gonna find out who did it.”

“We’re going to find out who did it,” Sanders said before slamming his hand against a table.

Deion Sanders leads Jackson State to 53-0 win in coaching debut

Deion Sanders led Jackson State to a 53-0 victory in front of former Cowboys teammate Troy Aikman

As head-coaching debuts go, Deion Sanders and Jackson State could not have found a softer opponent, which led to a predictably successful result.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame defensive back led the Tigers against NAIA school Edward Waters on Sunday at Mississippi Veteran Memorial Stadium. Jackson State went on to a 53-0 victory over a school that was coming off a 1-10 season.

Sanders had an unexpected visitor in another Hall of Famer. Former Dallas Cowboys star Troy Aikman was in attendance.

Aikman and Sanders played together on the Cowboys from 1995-99 and won the 1995 Super Bowl. Aikman received a COVID-19 test before heading down to the field.

Jackson State has added another heavy hitter to its 2021 recruiting class.

Vanguard wide receiver Trevonte Rucker of Ocala, Florida, committed to Jackson State and first-year coach Deion Sanders on Tuesday afternoon.

Rucker, a former Florida commit, is a four-star recruit ranked No. 189 nationally, according to the 247Sports composite ranking. That makes him the highest-rated high school prospect to commit to Jackson State.

He announced the commitment calling his decision “official” with the hashtag “BLM” as well.

Sanders signed his son, Shedeur, as the highest-rated high school player (No. 234) ever in Jackson State history last month during the early signing period, but should Rucker sign in February, he would become the highest-rated player to sign with JSU.

Sanders previously said one of his biggest reasons for coming to a historically Black university was to level the playing field for HBCUs with Power 5 schools.

Rucker is a four-star wide receiver and ranks as the No. 29 senior prospect in Florida, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. The 6-foot, 157-pound athlete is an Under Armour All-American.

Sanders, a Fort Meyers, Florida native and Florida State alum, has recruited the Sunshine state well, flipping former Florida commit Javonte Gardner in addition to bringing in Rucker and IMG Academy offensive lineman Charlton Goodell as commits. Three transfers, Isaiah Bolden, Maljon Joor and Tony Gray, are coming from Florida colleges as well.

Ravens vs. Cowboys: 7 fun facts about this Week 13 matchup

The Ravens take on the Cowboys in Week 13. Here are seven things you didn’t know you didn’t know about this series.

At the start of the 2020 season, two offenses that most people were looking forward to watching in the weeks ahead were the Baltimore Ravens and the Dallas Cowboys. Both teams seemed stacked with exciting playmakers at every level, including two high-caliber quarterbacks. The Week 13 clash between the two was expecting to see two playoff-bound juggernauts duking it out in the cold.

Things haven’t exactly gone according to plan for either team since then, sadly. However, the 6-5 Ravens and the 3-8 Cowboys are not dead just yet. And this week’s matchup should provide some points of interest. Indeed, the small number of games between the two sides has produced some interesting connections. Here are seven of my favorites.

Deion Sanders offers Tennessee defensive line commit

Deion Sanders offers Tennessee defensive line commit.

2021 prospect KaTron Evans committed to Tennessee on May 9.

Evans is a 6-foot-4, 320-pound defensive lineman from Baltimore, Maryland. He is a senior at St. Frances Academy.

Evans took to Twitter and mentioned he is “blessed to receive an offer” from Jackson State and head coach Deion Sanders.

Sanders, a two-time Super Bowl champion and Pro and College Football Hall of Famer, was named Jackson State’s head coach in September.

The newly-hired Jackson State head coach served as offensive coordinator during the early part of the 2020 high school season at Trinity Christian in Cedar Hill, Texas.

Former Tennessee linebacker Nyles Gaddy also announced his transfer destination to Jackson State and an opportunity playing for Sanders.

Gaddy appeared in one game for the Vols last season and redshirted during the 2018 season. He played at Father Ryan High school in Nashville, Tennessee.

Sanders served as offensive coordinator during the early part of the 2020 high school season at Trinity Christian in Cedar Hill, Texas before accepting his position at Jackson State.

Trinity Christian played at Knoxville Catholic Aug. 29, winning 49-14.

Deion Sanders seeking help finding a home in Jackson, MS

Deion Sanders took to social media seeking help in finding a home in Jackson, Mississippi.

The hard work hasn’t started on the field for Deion Sanders at Jackson State. The Pro Football Hall of Fame DB has another problem, though.

He needs a place to call home and Prime Time has some specific requests.

We’re sure there are plenty of people — realtors?? — who will be more than happy to help Sanders get settled in accommodations to his liking.

Right?

Deion Sanders refutes report that his Jackson State staff includes Terrell Owens, Warren Sapp

So much for that.

Deion Sanders’ coaching career at Jackson State University began with a whole bunch of fanfare and attention, with the Hall of Famer making the grandest of entrances into his opening press conference on Monday.

On Tuesday, there was another ripple through social media, with a report from WLTX’s Joe Cook, who said sources told him that Sanders’ staff would include fellow NFL legends Terrell Owens as his wide receivers coach and Warren Sapp coaching the defensive line.

It had everyone buzzing and hoping for a reality show camera crew to come to practices and film all the drama that could pop up with the three of them at the helm.

But Sanders himself took to Twitter not long after that tweet to deny it was true.

Alas. What fun that would have been. For now, enjoy his entrance from Monday:
