NASCAR Champion Chase Elliott completes Rolex 24 event

Chase Elliott, the diehard Georgia football fan from Dawsonville, Georgia completed his first ever Rolex 24 race on Sunday.

The 25 year-old competed in the endurance-racing event at Daytona International Speedway alongside some of the racing world’s best.

Unfortunately, Elliott’s team’s chances at glory ended early on Sunday, thanks to a mechanical problem with the Cadillac #31 car.

However, the NASCAR Cup Series Champion gained valuable experience in turning laps behind the wheel.

Chase Elliott, the NASCAR Cup Series Champion and Georgia native is a diehard fan of the Atlanta Braves and Georgia football.

The 25 year-old driver has had a busy offseason after winning his first NASCAR Cup Series Championship in Phoenix last November.

Since then, Elliott has competed in the Snowball Derby in Pensacola, the Chili Bowl in Tulsa and now the prestigious Rolex 24 at Daytona.

Here’s a quick look at some shots of Elliott in his Cadillac at the World Center of Racing. Keep in mind, the Daytona 500 kicks off the new NASCAR season in just two weeks.
