The final four is set.

After four rounds of voting we have whittled our list of 64 Spartans down to just four names. These four names represent the top of the line in both on-field achievements and off-field charisma. Whichever Spartan is crowned the top of the top, he will have earned it.

Our second semifinal features two of the most beloved Spartans in the Tom Izzo era. Draymond Green has cruised through the tournament thus far. A lot of Michigan State fans have love for Mo Pete, but Green easily defeated him in the elite eight. A worthy one seed, Green has what it takes to win the whole tournament.

First he’ll have to get by the lone non-one seed in the final four. Cassius Winston crushed Mateen Cleaves in the elite eight to punch his ticket to the semis. Prior to the tournament Cleaves vs. Winston was the one seeding I struggled with the most. Whichever one ended up as the two seed would be the most dangerous non-one seed in the tournament. That ended up being Winston and the rest is history. Can Winston get by Draymond Green and punch a ticket to the final? The voters will decide.

Our first semifinal matchup features the absolute buzzsaw of the tournament in Magic Johnson taking on fellow one seed and the last football Spartan left on the board Kirk Cousins.

Magic has absolutely cruised through this tournament. His lowest vote total was in the sweet 16 when he defeated Denzel Valentine 92% to 8%. It’s been an absolute bludgeoning every step of the way. This will be, by far, his toughest matchup yet.

Kirk Cousins easily defeated Connor Cook in the elite eight. Despite Cook having the upper hand in terms of achievement, Cousins etched himself in the hearts of a greater portion fo the Michigan State faithful. Does one of the greatest Spartan football players ever have what it takes to defeat perhaps the most famous Spartan ever? (Yes, that includes Leonidas.) That’s for you to decide.

It’s a battle of the two greatest quarterbacks in Michigan State football modern history! No. 1 seed Kirk Cousins made easy work of Charles Rogers  and Connor Cook took down TJ Duckett to set up this matchup. A glance at the MSU record books is all you need to know how important these two are to what Michigan State has accomplished on the gridiron in the last decade. Now the only question is, who is your favorite?

Our top seed Magic Johnson again cruised to victory in the Sweet 16. He is a complete buzzsaw. Credit to Denzel Valentine for garnering 9% of the vote, double what anybody else has been able to get against Magic.

Taking down the man behind the first of MSU’s two national titles in basketball will be a very tall task and it falls at the hands (er.. feet) of Javon Ringer. One of the best running backs in school history and a fan favorite, Ringer just edged out No. 2 seed Drew Neitzel in the Sweet 16, getting 52% of the vote. Ringer now takes his best shot at taking down he pre-tournament favorite. Can he do it?
