There is a ton of momentum to having a 2020 college football season these days. No definite signs, yet, but the season would start less than 100 days from now.
Sooners Wire will be creating player cards for readers to be introduced to the 2020 roster.
Here is the No. 79 for Oklahoma.
––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
Name: Darrell Simpson
Number: No. 79
Year: Redshirt sophomore
Position: Offensive line
Hometown: Justin, Texas
Height/Weight: 6-foot-7, 359 pounds
Oklahoma has a deep offensive line room and one of the top signees out of the 2018 recruiting class hasn’t gotten his shot yet.
Darrell Simpson came to the Sooners as a four-star recruit by Rivals. He was rated as the 142nd best player in the country, the No. 12 overall offensive tackle and the 11th best player in the state of Texas. Simpson chose Oklahoma over offers from Auburn, Georgia and Ohio State.
He has yet to play in a game for Oklahoma as Tyrese Robinson and Marquise Hayes earned the starting roles at guard in 2019.
