Former UNC baseball standout cracks Tigers’ top 30 prospect list

Former UNC baseball standout Danny Serretti has climbed the Detroit Tigers prospect list.

Former North Carolina Tar Heels baseball player Danny Serretti is looking to make his mark on the Detroit Tigers organization. And he’s off to a good start early in his career.

After being drafted by the Tigers in the 2022 draft, Serretti spent his first year with three teams, playing in A, high A, and the AA ball. He’s starting the 2023 season in high A as he looks to climb the Tigers minor league ranks.

But earlier this week, Serretti got a boost as he’s now jumped into the Top 30 prospects for the Tigers organization.

With Joey Wentz graduating from the rankings, Serretti has now cracked the list at No. 30 according to MLB.com’s rankings.

In 11 games with the West Michigan Whitecaps, Serretti is slashing .341/.420/.568 with one home run, six RBI’s, and five walks. It’s still very early in the minor league season, but Serretti has the chance to impress and climb the rankings even more moving forward.
