While his status remains officially questionable, reports from early Sunday indicate that Lions rookie running back D’Andre Swift will indeed play against the Green Bay Packers in the late-afternoon game.
Swift has missed the last three games with a concussion as well as an illness. During the week, the prospect was raised with Lions interim coach Darrell Bevell that Swift might be suffering from migraine headaches instead of a concussion, and the coach did confirm the team was unsure of the exact nature of Swift’s malady.
Getting Swift back in the lineup is a boon for quarterback Matthew Stafford, who will also play against Green Bay despite his questionable status. Swift has emerged as an impressive threat in the passing game.
Lions’ QB Matthew Stafford (right thumb) and RB D’Andre Swift (illness), each listed as questionable for Sunday, both are expected to play against the Packers, per source.
