Former Nebraska Cornhuskers defensive lineman Damion Daniels was selected by the St. Louis Battlehawks in the 2022 XFL Draft. Daniels was selected with 22nd pick in the open round of the draft.

Daniels played in 34 games for the Cornhuskers. In 2021, he was a Team Captain, and he had 33 total tackles, two tackles for loss, and two passes defended in 11 games. Subsequently, he was an Honorable Mention All-Big Ten.

Daniels was not selected in the 2022 NFL Draft. The Houston Texans signed him as an undrafted free agent, but he was cut during the preseason.

Daniels is the second former Cornhusker to be selected in the XFL Draft joining his former teammate cornerback Chris Jones, who was selected by the Seattle Sea Dragons.
