Carolina Panthers at Dallas Cowboys odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Sunday’s Carolina Panthers at Dallas Cowboys odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Carolina Panthers (3-0) and Dallas Cowboys (2-1) meet at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas in Week 4. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Panthers vs. Cowboys odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Panthers have surprised with three victories through three outings, including a win last time they were in the state of Texas in Week 3. Carolina won 24-9 and covered as an 8-point favorite against the Houston Texans last week. The Panthers are 3-0 against the spread and the Under is also 3-0.

Carolina ranks first in total yards allowed per game (191.0), passing yards allowed (146.0) and rushing yards allowed (45.0). Its 10.0 PPG allowed ranks second in the NFL.

The Cowboys are also 3-0 ATS, going for 416.7 total yards per game to rank fifth in the NFL. The run game has been solid, too, averaging 139.3 yards per game to rank fourth. They’re also putting up 30.0 PPG, so they’ll easily be the biggest test for the Panthers so far.

Panthers at Cowboys odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Cowboys 26, Panthers 17

Money line

The Cowboys (-205) will cost you more than two times your potential return, and that’s just too expensive against an undefeated team.

AVOID, and look to the spread instead.

Against the spread

The COWBOYS -4.5 (-107) are the play at home. Yes, the Panthers are unbeaten, but real only real quality victory was the win in Week 2 against the visiting New Orleans Saints. The New York Jets are winless, and the Houston Texans have just one win.

Toss in the fact the Panthers are missing their best player, McCaffrey, and it’s going to be the longest day at the office for Carolina to date.

Over/Under

UNDER 51.5 (-105) is the best play on the board. The Panthers have been tremendous defensively, while the Cowboys have also managed to keep the opposition down. This won’t be a defensive slog, but it also won’t be an offensive shootout with tons of fireworks.

Underdog corner: 3 best NFL ATS picks and predictions for Week 4

Assessing the NFL betting odds and lines for Week 4, with three predictions and picks for the best underdog ATS bets to make.

Our unblemished record fell by the wayside last Sunday as the New York Jets failed to cover the 10.5-point spread on the road against the Denver Broncos. (Deep analysis: Covering is almost always tougher when a team doesn’t score.) Below, we look at the top NFL underdog picks and predictions of Week 4.

Nevertheless, we hit on the New Orleans Saints and Los Angeles Chargers, who both won outright on the road, to improve to 8-1 against the spread on the season. Seven of our nine underdog picks so far have notched straight-up, wins as well.

Jump aboard for Week 4 to see if we can keep the train rolling.

Carolina Panthers +4.5 (-115) at Dallas Cowboys

QB Dak Prescott and the Cowboys were certainly impressive in their 2021 Big D debut Monday night, smashing the rival Philadelphia Eagles 41-21 to improve to 2-1 straight up and 3-0 against the spread.

The Panthers will be without injured do-it-all running back Christian McCaffrey so why are we on Carolina here in this meeting of 3-0 ATS teams? Three reasons:

  • The Panthers have a distinct rest advantage having last played a week ago Thursday night.
  • The Carolina defense has been an underrated force so far, leading the league in sacks (14), total QB pressures (47) and rushing defense (45 yards allowed per game, 2.6 yards per carry).
  • It’s an obvious letdown spot for the Cowboys coming off an emotional, prime-time rout of a division rival.

Dallas likely still wins, but the Panthers keep it close and cover.

Arizona Cardinals +4.5 (-110) at Los Angeles Rams

Two of the league’s five unbeaten teams clash in this early battle for NFC West supremacy.

The Rams have dominated the series of late, winning eight straight — all by at least 7 points — and going 7-0-1 ATS. Much like the Cowboys, the Rams are in a prime letdown spot coming off a big home win over Tom Brady and the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Dangerous dual-threat QB Kyler Murray and the Cards, who are tied with the Bucs for the league scoring lead at 34.3 points per game, present a different kind of challenge and certainly have enough firepower to keep this one close.

Las Vegas Raiders +3.5 (-115) at Los Angeles Chargers

QB Derek Carr and the Raiders take their 3-0 record west for a Monday night division tussle with QB Justin Herbert and the 2-1 Bolts.

The Silver & Black won and covered in three of the last four meetings and in what figures to be a close game where Raiders fans will be in the majority at SoFi Stadium, go ahead and take the 3.5 points.

Philadelphia Eagles at Dallas Cowboys odds picks and predictions: Player prop bets

Analyzing the Philadelphia Eagles at Dallas Cowboys Monday night matchup, offering up expert picks and predictions on the top player props.

The Philadelphia Eagles (1-1) travel to meet the Dallas Cowboys (1-1) at AT&T Stadium for Monday Night Football. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Eagles vs. Cowboys prop bet odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Eagles had an impressive 32-6 road win against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1, before taking a 17-11 loss at home to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 2. The Under has connected in each game for Philadelphia.

The Cowboys opened with a close 31-29 loss at Tampa Bay in Week 1 on Thursday night. The Over connected in that primetime game. The ‘Boys won on a last-second field goal in Week 2, cashing as three-point underdogs as the Under easily cashed.

Eagles at Cowboys prop bet picks and predictions

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 3:45 p.m. ET.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts UNDER 252.5 passing yards (-114)

Hurts ended up throwing for 264 yards and three touchdowns in the opener in Atlanta, and it looked like all was well with the Philadelphia offense. Last week at home against the 49ers was a different story as Hurts completed just 12-of-23 passes for 190 yards, no TDs and no INTs.

I think the Under on Hurts is a slam-dunk play, even though I also expect the Eagles to be playing from behind. Still, the dual-threat quarterback will not threaten to go Over the passing yardage mark as he’ll be running plenty.

PLAY: Try our new, free daily Pick’em Challenge and win. Play now!

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts OVER 57.5 rushing yards (-114)

Hurts rolled up 62 rushing yards in the victory in Atlanta in the season opener before racking up 82 rushing yards and a touchdown in last weekend’s loss at home against the Niners. In fact, his running was about the only thing working for Philadelphia in a home loss.

While the Cowboys are sixth in the NFL with just 73.5 rushing yards allowed so far, they have faced QB Tom Brady and QB Justin Herbert, two guys not exactly fleet of foot. Hurts will be looking to run more than perhaps any opposing quarterback Dallas will see this season.

Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott OVER 66.5 rushing yards (-114)

The Eagles have allowed 120.5 rushing yards per game through two outings, ranking 23rd in the NFL. That includes their 32-6 win in Atlanta against the likes of RBs Mike Davis and Cordarrelle Patterson, before facing a combination of RBs Elijah Mitchell and JaMycal Hasty last week. That’s not exactly facing the cream of the crop.

Tony Pollard and Zeke will both run amok against a Philadelphia rush defense that has had a hard time so far. Look for Elliott to finally get started after a slow start by his standards.

Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz UNDER 25.5 receiving yards (-114)

Schultz might not be at the top of your list on player props to play, but this is a good one. Remember, TE Blake Jarwin is also in the mix, and the top player on the depth chart at this position on the Cowboys.

Schultz managed just two grabs for 18 yards on two targets last week against the Chargers, and this number is propped up a bit by his six receptions and 45 yards in the Thursday night opener in Tampa. He won’t come close to hitting this number.

The Philadelphia Eagles (1-1) and Dallas Cowboys (1-1) meet for Monday Night Football at AT&T Stadium to wrap up Week 3. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Eagles vs. Cowboys odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Eagles were expected to struggle this season, but they opened with a 32-6 road win against the Atlanta Falcons. After giving the fans hope, they returned home in Week 2 and suffered a 17-11 loss against the San Francisco 49ers. The Under has cashed in each outing.

The Cowboys opened the season on the road against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 1, and fell 31-29 in an exciting Thursday battle. They stayed on the road to top the Los Angeles Chargers on a last-second field goal to win 20-17. The Cowboys are 2-0 against the spread and 1-1 against the Over/Under .

Eagles at Cowboys odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Cowboys 30, Eagles 17

Money line

The COWBOYS (-175) are worth playing straight up if you don’t want to lay the points. I don’t trust the Eagles and QB Jalen Hurts to be able to keep up with a Dallas offense led by QB Dak Prescott.

Against the spread

The COWBOYS -3.5 (-105) are a great play in their home opener, especially against an Eagles team that struggled last week against the 49ers.

The Cowboys are 5-2 ATS over the last seven meetings in this series, with the favorite going 8-3 ATS in the last 11 meetings. The home team is 5-0 ATS in the last five in this series, too. Back Dallas to win by at least 4 points Monday night.

Over/Under

The UNDER 51.5 (-115) is the play in this primetime affair. While I like what I have seen from the Cowboys on offense so far, especially in the opener, I just don’t trust the Eagles to move the ball. Hurts is still a work in progress, and the Eagles just don’t have the playmakers in the receiving game to roll up points in bunches.

While I think the Cowboys can win this one, they will have a difficult time against an Eagles D which has been surprisingly effective.

Underdog corner: 3 best NFL picks and predictions for Week 2

Assessing the NFL betting odds and lines for Week 2, with three predictions and picks for the best underdog bets to make.

NFL point-spread underdogs certainly had their day in Week 1 and a record one at that, covering in 12 of 16 games with an amazing nine outright winners. We took full advantage here in underdog corner as all three of our selections (the Philadelphia Eagles, Houston Texans and Miami Dolphins, who were all getting 3.5 points) notched straight-up wins, including two by double digits.

Certainly, a week to rejoice, but we know it’s not going to be that fruitful every week. We are wagering on the NFL (Not For Long) after all. Below, we assess the odds and matchups and offer up our three best NFL underdog picks and predictions for Week 2.

Carolina Panthers +3.5 (-112) vs. New Orleans Saints, Sunday at 1 p.m. ET

The Saints surprised many by notching one of the most shocking wins of Week 1, routing reigning MVP QB Aaron Rodgers and the favored Green Bay Packers 38-3 in a neutral-site game in Jacksonville.

The win, though, came with a cost as three starters — CB Marshon Lattimore, DE Marcus Davenport and C Erik McCoy — went down and will miss time due to injuries.

Also, a mini-COVID-19 outbreak has since struck the organization with six assistant coaches among eight in all testing positive so far. In addition to the inconvenience of practicing and staying in the Dallas area after being displaced by Hurricane Ida, the Saints now will be operating under the league’s enhanced COVID mitigation protocols this week.

The Panthers, meanwhile, have no such distractions playing at home for the second straight week after opening with a 19-14 win over the New York Jets. Carolina also covered in five of its last seven games against the Saints as an underdog, and given all the above, we’ll say that grows to six of eight with an outright PANTHERS (+3.5, +155 ML) win Sunday.

Minnesota Vikings +3.5 (-107) at Arizona Cardinals, Sunday at 4:05 p.m. ET

QB Kyler Murray and the Cards also pulled off a Week 1 stunner, routing the field goal-favorite Tennessee Titans 38-13 on the road.

The Vikings didn’t fare nearly as well in their season opener in Cincinnati, falling 27-24 on the last play of overtime.

We see things evening out, though, Sunday afternoon in the desert as these still look to be two equally-matched teams. Take the VIKINGS (+3.5).

Dallas Cowboys +3.5 (-122) at Los Angeles Chargers, Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET

This will be the Bolts’ home opener — and their first game at SoFi Stadium with fans; however, given the Chargers’ lack of serious L.A. backing, that only means the sparkling new stadium will mainly be filled with Cowboys fanatics.

On the field, second-year Chargers QB Justin Herbert certainly looks to be the real deal but QB Dak Prescott and the Cowboys should’ve beaten the defending-champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers, losing 31-29 late in the league’s season opener.

Dallas is still getting more than a field goal against a lesser foe, so get down on the COWBOYS (+3.5).

Cowboys at Chargers head-to-head

The Chargers and Cowboys haven’t met since a Thanksgiving game Nov. 23, 2017, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. L.A won 28-6 as QB Philip Rivers was still under center for the Bolts.

The last time the Chargers hosted the Cowboys was back on Sept. 29, 2013, with L.A. winning 30-21 as Rivers outdueled QB Tony Romo. The Chargers have won three in a row in this series with the Cowboys last winning Sept. 11, 2005.

Dallas Cowboys at Tampa Bay Buccaneers odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Thursday’s Dallas Cowboys at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Week 1 odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Dallas Cowboys and Tampa Bay Buccaneers open the regular season Thursday night. Kickoff at Raymond James Stadium is scheduled for 8:20 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Cowboys vs. Buccaneers odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott suffered a gruesome ankle fracture last season which derailed what looked to be a very promising campaign. He’s back, and reportedly at full speed.

Buccaneers QB Tom Brady starts his second full season under center in Tampa, and he is looking to pick up right where he left off. The Tampa Bay offense has all 11 starters back after its championship season.

Cowboys at Buccaneers odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Buccaneers 31, Cowboys 24

Money line

The Buccaneers (-400) will cost you four times your potential return, and that’s entirely too much, even on Brady and the defending champs.

AVOID, and look to the spread instead.

Against the spread

The good news for the COWBOYS +8.5 (-110) is that Prescott is back under center and expected to be a full go from the jump. The bad news is that they open on the road against the defending champs.

I don’t think Prescott and the ‘Boys can shock the world and start the NFL season with a big money line upset, but I do think they have enough offensive weapons to keep this a one-score game.

Over/Under

The OVER 51.5 (-108) might be the best play on the board. The Cowboys are going to want to air it out early and often, and Prescott has several top-notch targets in WRs Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup. Dallas should be able to keep pace with Brady and the Bucs in an entertaining game to start the season.

The big question for the Cowboys heading into the 2021 regular season is how healthy QB Dak Prescott is after a gruesome lower-leg injury ended his 2020 campaign prematurely. The Dallas offense could be quite prolific if he is back to his pre-injury form. Dallas finished the pre-season 0-4 SU/ATS with a 1-3 O/U mark.

The defending Super Bowl champion Buccaneers have all 11 starters back on offense. Tampa Bay was the league’s second-best passing team with 289.1 yards per game in 2020 and they were seventh in total offense with 384.1 yards per game. The Bucs finished the pre-season 1-2 SU/ATS and with a 2-1 O/U mark.

Cowboys at Buccaneers head-to-head

These teams haven’t met since Week 16 of the 2018 regular season. The Cowboys won 27-20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, narrowly missing a cover as 7.5-point favorites while the Under (48) just came in. Prescott threw for 161 yards and a touchdown while also running for a score that afternoon.

Jacksonville Jaguars at Dallas Cowboys odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Sunday’s Jacksonville Jaguars at Dallas Cowboys preseason Week 3 matchup, with NFL odds, lines, picks, predictions and best bets.

The Jacksonville Jaguars (0-2) meet the Dallas Cowboys (0-3) Sunday for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff at AT&T Stadium. Below, we look at the Jaguars vs. Cowboys odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Jaguars fought back from a 23-3 hole on the road against the New Orleans Saints last time out, outscoring the opposition 18-0 to give bettors the backdoor cover. A touchdown and two-point conversion with 2:46 flipped the result to an Over, too.

The Cowboys have at least been consistent during the preseason. They have failed to win any of their games, they’re 0-3 ATS and the Under has connected in each outing. The Cowboys are averaging just 11.0 PPG, while allowing 18.3 PPG.

Jaguars at Cowboys odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Jaguars 23, Cowboys 15

Money line

The Jaguars (-200) are a little risky as the play on the road. However, Jags head coach Urban Meyer did confirm this week that No. 1 overall pick QB Trevor Lawrence will be the starting quarterback, and Lawrence will be under center in Sunday’s preseason finale.

The Cowboys will not have QB Dak Prescott in action, and it’s likely going to be the QB Ben DiNucci show.

Still, AVOID, and look to the spread instead.

Against the spread

The JAGUARS -3.5 (-108) are a bit risky, but seeing that Lawrence is due to play and QB C.J. Beathard has started regular-season games in recent seasons, they’re the lean over the likes of DiNucci and the Cowboys.

Over/Under

OVER 36.5 (-105) is also worth playing lightly. While we saw the Under dominate in the first two weekends of preseason play, with more starters going deeper into games, we have seen an uptick in scoring in the final weekend of exhibition action. The Over cashed in each of the four games Friday night. This won’t be a track meet, but it should inch Over the finish line.

Jacksonville Jaguars at Dallas Cowboys odds and lines: Cowboys, Jags look to avoid winless preseason

Looking at the NFL odds and lines for Sunday’s Jacksonville Jaguars at Dallas Cowboys Week 3 preseason matchup.

The Jacksonville Jaguars (0-2) travel to meet the Dallas Cowboys (0-3) in their preseason finale Sunday. Kickoff at AT&T Stadium is set for 1 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Jaguars at Cowboys odds and lines; check back for our NFL picks and predictions.

The Jaguars were roughed up in the first half by the Saints Monday, trailing 14-0 after one quarter and 23-3 after three quarters. A late rally by the reserves in the fourth quarter helped Jacksonville backers to a backdoor cover but they came short of victory falling 23-21.

The Cowboys were tripped up Saturday 20-14 by the in-state rival Houston Texans. They’re not just 0-3 SU during the preseason they’re also 0-3 ATS while hitting the Under all three times.

The Jaguars (-145) are road favorites with an implied win probability of 59.18%. Their money line odds can be expressed as a fraction of 20/29 or a decimal of 1.69. Jacksonville will need to win by 3 or more points in order to cover the spread.

Dallas must lose by 2 or fewer points, win outright, or tie in order to cover the spread. Its +120 odds represent an implied win probability of 45.45% and can be expressed as 6/5 fractional odds or 2.20 decimal odds.
