Four-star QB Jaden O’Neal speaks on ‘amazing’ trip to Colorado

Four-star QB Jaden O’Neal is a fan of Coach Prime’s “old school” style

Class of 2026 four-star quarterback Jaden O’Neal shared some encouraging words about his recent visit with head coach Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes.

Speaking with On3’s Steve Wiltfong, the California prospect praised Sanders’ coaching style and his approach to recruiting.

“Colorado is going amazing,” O’Neal told On3. “One big takeaway is coach Deion is (an) old school coach who takes much pride in character and integrity with the players he recruits.”

O’Neal, a top-10 QB in his class (247Sports composite), picked up an offer from the Buffs last month and has also shown significant interest in the Oklahoma Sooners, Miami Hurricanes, Auburn Tigers, Washington Huskies and Florida State Seminoles, according to On3.

Colorado’s NFL-laden coaching staff is another reason why O’Neal is high on the Buffs.

“I’m loving the (coaching) staff and how experienced they are,” O’Neal told On3. “Having NFL experience truly draws my eye to this school.”

Colorado makes four-star TE Heze Kent’s top 10 schools

Four-star tight end Heze “Superman” Kent named Colorado to his top 10 schools

Only two weeks after receiving an offer from Colorado football, class of 2026 tight end Heze Kent named the Buffaloes to his top 10 on Thursday.

The Georgia Bulldogs, Texas Longhorns, Ohio State Buckeyes, Miami Hurricanes, Kentucky Wildcats, USC Trojans, Florida State Seminoles, Tennessee Volunteers and Florida Gators joined Colorado in Kent’s list of top schools.

Kent, nicknamed “Superman” on his X account, is a four-star prospect and the seventh-ranked tight end in the 2026 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports composite.

At Brunswick High School in Georgia last season, the 6-foot-5, 250-pound Kent recorded 360 rushing yards, 394 receiving yards and eight total touchdowns. He later played basketball, averaging 14.3 points and 12.4 rebounds in nine games, according to MaxPreps.

In April, Colorado secured class of 2025 three-star tight end Corbin Laisure’s commitment, but the Buffs would do well to develop more future depth at the position.

Colorado hosts elite 2026 QB Jaden O’Neal on recruiting visit

Elite 2026 quarterback Jaden O’Neal posted a picture of himself on a recruiting trip to Boulder

As the Julian “JuJu” Lewis train continues to pick up steam in Boulder, fellow highly-ranked quarterback prospect Jaden O’Neal took an unofficial recruiting visit to Colorado on Tuesday, according to BuffStampede.

The class of 2026 four-star QB posted a picture of Folsom Field on Wednesday, confirming his interest in head coach Deion Sanders and the Buffs. O’Neal is the sixth-ranked gunslinger in his class, per the 247Sports composite.

Adam Munsterteiger of BuffStampede reported that O’Neal visited the Oklahoma Sooners on Sunday and is also scheduled to check out the Auburn Tigers, Florida State Seminoles, Miami Hurricanes, Michigan Wolverines, Michigan State Spartans, Oregon Ducks and Texas Longhorns later this month.

This past season at Newport Harbor High School in California, O’Neal threw for 2.475 yards, 27 touchdowns and two interceptions. He then transferred to Narbonne High School in nearby Harbor City.

The Buffs offered O’Neal on May 6.

Colorado re-offers four-star offensive lineman Brock Kolojay

Brock Kolojay, a four-star OL with Colorado roots, was re-offered by the Buffs

Class of 2026 offensive lineman Brock Kolojay, a four-star prospect (247Sports composite) with Colorado roots, was re-offered by the Buffs on Saturday while taking an unofficial visit to Boulder.

Kolojay spent his freshman season at Valor Chrisitan High School in Highlands Ranch before transferring to Florida powerhouse IMG Academy. There, he played alongside current Buffs offensive linemen Jordan Seaton and Cash Cleveland.

With his junior season at IMG Academy looming, the 247Sports composite ranks Kolojay as the No. 15 interior offensive lineman in the 2026 recruiting class.

Kolojay, who previously received an offer from Colorado in 2022 before head coach Deion Sanders arrived, is listed at 6-foot-6 and 295 pounds. He also visited CU this past September for the Buffs’ home game against the USC Trojans.

In his re-offer announcement, Kolojay posted pictures of himself alongside Seaton, Cash and Colorado OL coach Phil Loadholt.

Colorado offers class of 2026 four-star TE Caleb Tafua

Four-star TE Caleb Tafua announced an offer from Colorado

The Colorado football program extended an offer to class of 2026 tight end Caleb Tafua, continuing its search for future talent. Tafua announced the news on Tuesday via his X account.

Tafua is rated a four-star prospect (247Sports composite), good for the 10th-ranked tight end in the class of 2026. He is the No. 24 overall prospect in his class in California.

At 6-foot-5 and 220 pounds, Tafua’s film suggests he’s a strong athlete, featuring contested catches and hurdles in the open field. In nine games last season, Tafua reeled in 36 catches for 540 yards and eight touchdowns, per MaxPreps. He also plays defensive end.

However, Tafua’s talent is no secret with Colorado’s offer marking his eighth just in May. He has received offers from other Big 12 teams and in-state rival Colorado State.

The Buffaloes have yet to earn a commitment from a class of 2026 recruit, allowing Tafua the opportunity to be the first.

Four-star CB Chace Calicut picks up Colorado offer

Rising four-star cornerback Chace Calicut picked up an offer from CU

It’s no longer too early to begin focusing on Colorado football’s 2026 recruiting class. Head coach Deion Sanders picked up three 2025 commits in late April, and the Buffs could very well land their first 2026 pledge before next season commences.

On Friday, four-star (per Rivals) cornerback Chace Calicut became the latest class of 2026 prospect to announce an offer from Colorado. Rivals ranks Calicut as the No. 10 CB and the No. 12 overall 2026 prospect in Texas.

Calicut, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound sophomore at North Shore High School in Houston, also owns offers from Jackson State, Washington State, Cal, UTEP, TCU and Purdue.

In early March, Rivals national recruiting analyst Marshall Levenson wrote the following on Calicut:

Calicut, who is set to play opposite five-star Ohio State commit Devin Sanchez this fall, is being tabbed as the next hot item out of the Eastside. His size, length, athleticism and ball skills will draw eyes during camp season and as coaches make their way to North Shore during spring ball.

Top-ranked class of 2026 QB Jared Curtis receives Colorado offer

Colorado is going after the No. 1 QB in the 2026 recruiting class

Currently ranked as the No. 1 quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class (247Sports Composite), Jared Curtis has already picked up several big-time college offers.

On Thursday, the Tennessee prospect announced Colorado as the latest Power Five program to extend an offer. Yes, Curtis still has two more seasons of high school football remaining, but the Buffs did well by showing their interest now before his recruitment heats up even more.

However, while Curtis is only a sophomore at Nashville Christian School, head coach Deion Sanders and the Buffs are playing from somewhat behind. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound quarterback previously named his top 10 colleges back in September: Alabama, Georgia, Florida State, Notre Dame, South Carolina, Michigan, Ohio State, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Ole Miss.

After watching his film, the extreme interest in Curtis makes sense. He has both the physical attributes and the overall talent to make an instant impact at the Power Five level.

Colorado hosting multiple four/five-star prospects for USC game

Some of the nation’s top four/five-star recruits are coming to Boulder this weekend

Folsom Field’s narrow sidelines will be packed with several of the nation’s top 2024, 2025 and 2026 prospects on Saturday for Colorado’s clash with USC.

For head coach Deion Sanders and his staff, each home game represents an opportunity to give recruits an up-close look at the program’s culture, and the Buffs are taking full advantage this weekend. It also doesn’t hurt that big names such as LeBron James, Jay Z and Matthew McConaughey are reportedly coming to Boulder as well.

Below are some of the biggest recruits set to visit Boulder for Colorado’s Week 5 home game against USC (h/t Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports):

Examining the notable recruits visiting Folsom Field for Colorado-Nebraska

A few of CU’s top recruits will be at Folsom for tomorrow’s opener

The Colorado Buffaloes have an opportunity to impress quite a few visiting recruits on Saturday in their home opener against Nebraska.

From what we’ve seen on X (formerly known as Twitter), several of CU’s top targets, including many big in-state prospects, will be at Folsom Field for this Week 2 matchup. A strong performance from Colorado against a rival opponent would certainly make a strong impact on these recruits.

We also learned this week that head coach Deion Sanders is making strides with 2025 five-star quarterback Brye Underwood, who plans on visiting Boulder for a game later this month.

With a hat tip to DNVR’s Jake Schwanitz for unearthing many of these tweets, below are some of the top recruits visiting CU for Saturday’s home opener:

Skilled 2026 wide receiver Jabari Brady earns CU Buffs offer

Colorado offered one of the brightest wide receivers in the 2026 class

Jabari Brady has been on the radar of multiple Division I schools for quite some time now.

As an eighth grader in November of 2021, he received his first Power Five offer from Louisville, and on Monday, Colorado joined the party by extending an offer of its own. The 2026 prospect has also received interest from Florida, Florida State, Texas A&M, Alabama, Oregon, Ohio State, Georgia and others.

While he’s entering just his sophomore year at Monarch High School near Fort Lauderdale, Flordia, the hype around Brady is justified after he recorded 864 receiving yards and six touchdowns as a freshman. Listed at 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds, his size is also impressive for a second-year high school prospect.

In June, Brady took visits to Florida, FSU, Ohio State and Penn State.

He’s also currently committed to playing in the 2026 Adidas All-American Bowl.
