Creighton at Kansas: Three things to know
- Creighton thumped Kennesaw State of the Atlantic Sun Conference 93-58 Friday. The Bluejays just missed covering a 37.5-point spread. Their other two wins came against North Dakota State and Omaha – a schedule that’s not exactly a murderer’s row. Kansas represents a huge step up in quality of opponent, and it will be interesting to see if Creighton can kick it into a higher gear.
- Kansas has rattled off four straight victories since a 102-90 loss against No. 1 Gonzaga to open the season. One of the wins was vs. then-No. 20 Kentucky. The Jayhawks have covered just once so far, splitting the O/U 2-2. G Ochai Agbaji is averaging 16.2 points per game, while F Jalen Wilson is pulling down 8.8 rebounds per outing.
- The Jayhawks have struggled at the charity stripe, hitting just 68.9 percent on free throws. Their long-distance shooting has bailed them out, however, as they are hitting from 39.0 percent behind the 3-point line. The Bluejays are hitting 83.3 from the free-throw line, but just 32.9 percent from behind the arc.

Money line (ML)
KANSAS (-175) isn’t a bad play on the money line if you want to play it safe. The Jayhawks should be able to protect their home court. The Bluejays (+145) haven’t yet been tested, while KU has already knocked off the likes of St. Joe’s, Kentucky and Washington, a much better quality of opponents.
Against the spread (ATS)
KANSAS -3.5 (-110) seems to bring it when facing top-tier talent, going 6-1 ATS in the past seven against teams with an overall winning record. The Jayhawks are also 8-2 ATS in the previous 10 following a non-cover, too. Creighton is also strong against good teams, but those trends are based upon its results last season. The combined record of the teams Creighton has seen to date is 4-10. This will be a shock to the system for the Bluejays.
Over/Under (O/U)
UNDER 147.5 (-105) is the lean, as Kansas has had some difficulty filling up the basket this season, and Creighton’s 85.3 PPG average is inflated due to a schedule of inferior opponents. The Bluejays will see a significant decrease in scoring here, too.
