4-star Louisiana safety set to announce commitment on Monday

The Tigers will hope their in-state success continues on Monday.

The Tigers have missed on some in-state targets this cycle, but they’ve seen some recent positive momentum recruiting the state of Louisiana over the last month and change.

Coach [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] could land another big-time prospect from the boot on Monday, as four-star Zachary safety [autotag]Kylin Jackson[/autotag] is set to announce his commitment at noon CT. LSU is seen as the favorite for Jackson, who is the No. 167 player and No. 10 safety in the nation per the 247Sports Composite.

He has taken four unofficial visits to Baton Rouge, first in October and most recently on July 29. The Tigers hold the lone Crystal Ball prediction from 247Sports, and they are a 97.6% favorite per On3, with Texas A&M being the closest competitor.

Last week, On3’s Sam Spiegelman reported that LSU “remains in a strong position” for Jackson but that a late push from the Aggies has made things interesting. Sources told Spiegelman that Jackson could look to push back his decision to mull things over, but as of Sunday night, Jackson is still scheduled to make a decision Monday.

It sounds like it’s a two-team race, and keeping a prospect like Jackson in Louisiana while beating out Jimbo Fisher would be a two birds with one stone type of situation for Kelly.

Top-200 safety from Louisiana sets final four, commitment date

The Tigers look to be in a good position for Zachary, Louisiana, safety Kylin Jackson.

Though LSU had a bit of a slow start when it came to recruiting the fertile state of Louisiana in the 2023 cycle, coach [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] is picking up some momentum on the Tigers’ home turf.

He’s landed three in-state prospects during the month of July, and several more could be coming down the pipeline. One of those players is Zachary, Louisiana, safety [autotag]Kylin Jackson[/autotag], who is set to announce his commitment on Aug. 8 and is down to four schools, per On3: Oregon, Texas A&M, Michigan and the Tigers.

Jackson is a top-200 prospect, according to the 247Sports Composite, and he’s a top-10 safety in the class of 2023. Needless to say, he’d be a nice addition to a class that already features 17 commits and ranks 10th in the nation.

Four-star 2023 quarterback lists LSU in his final 5, sets commitment date

Ohio State is now the favorite to land Glenn, a blue-chip quarterback from Memphis.

[autotag]Brock Glenn[/autotag], a 6-foot-2, 195-pound quarterback in the 2023 class from Memphis, Tennessee, has listed LSU among his final five. The four-star quarterback also set a commitment date and will announce his decision on Saturday.

The Tigers made the cut along with Ohio State, Florida State, TCU, and Auburn. Glenn’s grandfather was a graduate of Auburn in 1963. His family ties are so deep in orange and blue that his first name is Auburn. Literally.

Due to that, Auburn was the favorite to land the talented signal-caller for a while, until Florida State came knocking. The Seminoles had a commitment from another four-star quarterback in the 2023 class in Chris Parson until they decided to put a lot of chips on the table for Glenn — the No. 335 overall player in 2023 and No. 17 quarterback, per the 247Sports Composite.

When that happened, Parson de-committed and left them without a quarterback in the 2023 class. So, Florida State was a favorite for a while after that. Now, it seems that Ohio State is the favorite.

Seven different experts on 247Sports Crystal-Balled him to Ohio State on July 28. With all of that being said though, never count out [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] in any recruiting race. A lot of people thought the Tigers were out of the running for [autotag]Paul Mubenga[/autotag], and look at what happened there.

We’ll keep you posted here on LSU Wire as Glenn is set to make a decision Saturday.
