The New Orleans Saints announced which uniform combination they’ll be wearing in the first game of their 2023 regular season: black jerseys and matching black pants. It’s a common look for them at home in games like this one against the Tennessee Titans.
In fact, it’s a uniform combo the Saints have used more often than any other since 2006 — 85 times, including playoff games. They’re 49-36 in these kits all-time, and they’ll be looking to win their 50th game in the all-blacks on Sunday.
If you’re curious, superstitious, or just want to dress accordingly, here are the records the Saints have achieved in each of the eight different uniform sets we’ve seen from them dating back to 2006:
- “Black and Gold” throwbacks: 3-1 (.750)
- White jerseys, white pants: 11-4 (.733)
- Black jerseys, gold pants: 24-15 (.615)
- White jerseys, black pants: 42-27 (.609)
- White jerseys, gold pants: 37-25 (.597)
- Black jerseys, black pants: 49-36 (.576)
- “Color Rush” alternates: 9-7 (.563)
- Black jerseys, white pants: 0-1 (.000)
