Colorado Rockies at Arizona Diamondbacks odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Sunday’s Colorado Rockies at Arizona Diamondbacks odds and lines, with MLB picks and predictions.

The Colorado Rockies (10-17) and Arizona Diamondbacks (14-13) play the finale of a four-game set Sunday with a 4:10 p.m. ET first pitch at Chase Field. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook‘s lines around the Rockies vs. Diamondbacks odds with MLB picks and predictions.

RHP Chi Chi Gonzalez is the projected starting pitcher for the Rockies. He is 1-0 with a 3.60 ERA, 1.45 WHIP, 5.4 K/9 and 3.2 BB/9 over 20 IP through three starts and two relief appearances.

Gonzalez has allowed three or fewer earned runs in each of his three starts this season. He surrendered three runs on seven hits with no walks across five innings in a no-decision at the San Francisco Giants Tuesday.

RHP Merrill Kelly is the projected starting pitcher for the Diamondbacks. He is 2-2 with a 6.33 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, 6.0 K/9 and 2.3 BB/9 through 27 IP across five starts.

Kelly had his best outing of the season in his most recent start. He allowed just one earned run on four hits and two walks with five strikeouts across six innings against the San Diego Padres on Tuesday for his first quality start of the season.

  • Money line: Rockies +125 (bet $100 to win $125) | Diamondbacks -150 (bet $150 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Rockies +1.5 (-155) | Diamondbacks -1.5 (+125)
  • Over/Under: 8.5 (O: -120 | U: +100)

Prediction

Rockies 8, Diamondbacks 6

Money line (ML)

The ROCKIES (+125) are a sharp play on the road as short underdogs. Kelly looked pretty good in his most recent showing against San Diego, but I am going to keep fading him until he can continue to piece together at least two or three quality wins in a row. He has just been too hittable prior to Tuesday’s start.

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

The ROCKIES +1.5 (-155) are worth a look if you are not quite feeling Colorado will win, don’t trust Gonzalez or think the Diamondbacks will pull it out. Again, I am siding with Colorado because I just haven’t seen enough from Kelly to trust Arizona when he is on the bump.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 8.5 (-120) is the best play on the board in this one. The Over is 11-5 in the past 16 for Colorado in the fourth game of a series, while the Over has cashed in five of the past six meetings in Arizona, including Saturday’s crazy 14-6 Colorado victory.

With Gonzalez and Kelly, two rather mediocre pitchers, on the hill for their respective teams, we could see a lot of fireworks in this finale as well.

Colorado Rockies at Arizona Diamondbacks odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s Colorado Rockies at Arizona Diamondbacks odds and lines, with MLB picks and predictions.

The Colorado Rockies (9-17) and Arizona Diamondbacks (14-12) play the third part of a four-game set Saturday with an 8:10 p.m. ET first pitch at Chase Field. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook‘s lines around the Rockies vs. Diamondbacks odds with MLB picks and predictions.

LHP Austin Gomber is the projected starting pitcher for the Rockies. He is 1-3 with a 6.65 ERA, 1.57 WHIP, 9.0 K/9 and 7.4 BB/9 over 23 IP through 5 starts.

Gomber posted three straight quality starts from April 9-21, but he was hammered for 9 earned runs on 7 hits and 4 walks while retiring just 5 batters in a loss at the San Francisco Giants Monday.

RHP Zac Gallen is the projected starting pitcher for the Diamondbacks. He is 1-0 with a 2.16 ERA, 0.96 WHIP, 10.8 K/9 and 4.3 BB/9 through 16 2/3 IP across 3 starts.

Gallen twirled 7 scoreless innings with just 1 hit and 2 walks allowed in a complete-game win in Atlanta Sunday. He had 6 or more strikeouts in each of his starts.

  • Money line: Rockies +165 (bet $100 to win $165) | Diamondbacks -200 (bet $200 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Rockies +1.5 (-120) | Diamondbacks -1.5 (+100)
  • Over/Under: 8 (O: -105 | U: -115)

Prediction

Diamondbacks 7, Rockies 3

Money line (ML)

The Diamondbacks (-200) will cost you two times your potential return, and that’s just not a good long-term betting strategy. Look to the run line instead.

AVOID.

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

The DIAMONDBACKS -1.5 (+100) are a much better option on the run line at even money.

Arizona outscored Colorado 12-5 in the first two games of this series and won each game by at least 2 runs. In fact, each of Arizona’s last seven victories came by 2 or more runs.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 8 (-105) is worth playing lightly, mainly because of Gomber’s ugly outing last time out in San Francisco. The Over also cashed in Friday’s game, with a total of 9 runs.

The Over is 7-3 across Arizona’s past 10 outings while going 6-1 in the past seven games for Colorado.

Colorado Rockies at Arizona Diamondbacks odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Thursday’s Colorado Rockies at Arizona Diamondbacks odds and lines, with MLB picks and predictions.

The Colorado Rockies (9-15) kick off Arizona Diamondbacks (12-12) a four-game series Thursday at 9:40 p.m. ET at Chase Field. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook‘s lines around the Rockies vs Diamondbacks odds with MLB picks and predictions.

RHP Antonio Senzatela is the projected starting pitcher for the Rockies. He is 1-3 with a 5.76 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, 5.4 K/9 and 2.9 BB/9 in 25 IP over five starts.

Senzatela has alternated good and bad starts so far this season, while his best was eight shutout innings against Arizona in Coors. He’s typically not a good pitcher, regardless of venue, as shown by his 5.18 career road ERA.

RHP Luke Weaver is the projected starting pitcher for the Diamondbacks. He is 1-2 with a 4.57 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, 7.9 K/9 and 2.1 BB/9 in 21 2/3 IP over four starts.

Weaver’s first start of the year was against the Rockies in Colorado, a start in which he served up 3 HR and allowed 3 ER in 5 1/3 IP.

  • Money line: Rockies +135 (bet $100 to win $135) | Diamondbacks -160 (bet $160 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Rockies +1.5 (-140) | Diamondbacks -1.5 (+115)
  • Over/Under: 9 (O: +100 | U: -120)

Prediction

Rockies 6, Diamondbacks 4

Money line (ML)

The Rockies are 1-8 on the road this season while averaging just 2.3 runs per game.

Meanwhile, the Arizona offense has been hot lately, averaging 6.6 runs per game over their last seven contests, and they are a good bet to keep it going against Senzatela.

Weaver hasn’t been great, and his numbers could be worse if not for a .233 BAbip. But he is the better pitcher in this one and Arizona boasts the far superior offense.

Side with the DIAMONDBACKS (-160).

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

With Colorado struggling offensively, just one of their eight road losses has been by a single run.

The Diamondbacks should put their fair share of runs on the board Thursday night, and a small play on the DIAMONDBACKS -1.5 (+115) makes sense.

Over/Under (O/U)

Both starting pitchers in this matchup are displaying marginal skills to this point and allowing a lot of hard contact.

The Diamondbacks rank 2nd in runs per game on the season, and they appear to be in a good spot to stay hot.

The Rockies are certainly not a good team on the road, but Weaver can’t be counted on to completely shut down any offense right now.

The Colorado bats won’t have a big day but should do enough to help push this total OVER 9 (+100).
