Colorado men’s golf: Dylan McDermott earns honorable mention All-American honors

Dylan McDermott became the 21st men’s golfer in Colorado history to earn All-American honors

The Golf Coaches Association of America’s PING-All-America team was announced on Tuesday and Colorado men’s golf star Dylan McDermott earned honorable mention honors.

According to CUBuffs.com, McDermott is the fifth golfer under Colorado head coach Roy Edwards to earn All-America honors and the 21st in program history, which dates back to 1946. The 2022-23 season was a coming-out party for Dylan McDermott with his All-American nod being the latest accomplishment on a long list.

McDermott was also named first-team PING All-West Region and first-team All-Pac-12 while raising his amateur ranking over 600 spots to No. 238.

“It’s an honor to be a member of the All-America teams,” McDermott said.  “It’s always been a goal of mine and to be able to say that is awesome.  I’ve had a good year, but hopefully will be able to learn from the good and bad and do even better in the future.”
