‘College GameDay’ Week 16 location

Will ESPN’s “College GameDay” attend the Army versus Navy game this Saturday?

ESPN’s “College GameDay” will not be attending the the Army Black Nights versus Navy Midshipmen game or any other college football game in Week 16. The Army-Navy game is college football’s regular season finale and has the weekend to itself (outside of the Celebration Bowl and Veterans Bowl).

Army versus Navy will be played in the Washington Commanders’ stadium, Northwest Stadium, on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 3:00 p.m. ET. Army (11-1) and Navy (8-3) are both having outstanding seasons and the Army-Navy rivalry is the best in college football (sorry Ohio State-Michigan, Army and Navy know good sportsmanship).

The Army-Navy game will be televised on CBS. ESPN’s matchup predictor gives Army a 65.9% chance to win.

It is always understandable that GameDay does not want to attend a neutral site game. However, last week GameDay attended the No. 5 Georgia versus No. 2 Texas game in the SEC championship in Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. Georgia won in the SEC championship’s first ever overtime game.

GameDay attended 10 games with at least one SEC team this season, which is more than any other conference. GameDay attended the Army-Navy game every season from 2014-2021, but has not attended an Army-Navy game for three straight seasons.

GameDay did announce where it will be for the first-round of the College Football Playoff. The crew plans to attend the Notre Dame versus Indiana game on Friday, Dec. 20 and then the Ohio State versus Tennessee game on Saturday, Dec. 21.
