Legendary CU defensive back Chris Hudson named to 2025 CFB Hall of Fame ballot

Legendary CU defensive back Chris Hudson is back on the College Football Hall of Fame ballot

The National Football Foundation released the 2025 College Football Hall of Fame ballot on Monday and former Colorado Buffaloes defensive back Chris Hudson was among the 77 Football Bowl Subdivision player nominees.

Hudson, who played for the Buffs from 1991-1994, is back on the ballot for the third time, giving voters another chance to see his name. However, the Colorado great hasn’t been on the list in three years and only 12 players can be inducted into the 2025 class.

Hudson’s resume speaks for itself. Between his time at cornerback and safety, he picked off 15 passes to rank second among Colorado’s all-time career interception leaders. As a senior in 1994, he was named a consensus first-team All-American and won the Jim Thorpe Award. He was also a three-time first-team All-Big Eight selection.

After four successful years with the black and gold, Hudson was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the third round of the 1995 NFL draft. He spent four seasons with the Jaguars before spending one year with the Chicago Bears and another with the Atlanta Falcons. Hudson played in 77 career games and snagged 11 interceptions.

If inducted, Hudson would become the 12th former Buff in the College Football Hall of Fame. Fellow Thorpe Award Winner Deion Figures will represent Colorado in the 2024 Hall of Fame Class.

Trio of UCLA football players make 2025 College Football Hall of Fame ballot

Three Bruins make the ballot.

On Monday, the 2025 College Football Hall of Fame ballot was released. There were plenty of notable names on the list, including first-timers such as Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, and Sean Taylor, all of which deserve a spot in the Hall of Fame.

The UCLA Bruins saw three players get on the ballot: John Lee, Ken Norton Jr., and first-time appearance Gaston Green.

Linebacker Ken Norton Jr., kicker John Lee and running back Gaston Green were included on the 2025 ballot for induction into the College Football Hall of Fame announced on Monday by The National Football Foundation (NFF) & College Hall of Fame. The ballot includes players and coaches from the Football Bowl Subdivision as well as from the Divisional ranks.

All three Bruins on this list are part of the UCLA Athletic Hall of Fame. Green played running back in the 1980s in Westwood but might have a difficult case with so many other talented names in the fold.

The class will officially be introduced on December 9, 2025, in Las Vegas.

Kenjon Barner, Haloti Ngata named to 2025 College Football Hall of Fame ballot

Both Kenjon Barner and Haloti Ngata were named to the 2025 College Football Hall of Fame ballot earlier this week.

Earlier this year, Oregon Ducks legend Kenjon Barner was inducted into the Oregon Sports Hall of Fame, an honor he said on the Bleav in Oregon podcast that he never expected, but would cherish for the rest of his life.

Now, an even more prestigious accolade could be on the horizon for Barner, who was named to the 2025 College Football Hall of Fame ballot earlier this week, where he is up for a vote to be included in one of the most exclusive clubs in the sport.

Barner is on the ballot alongside fellow Oregon legend Haloti Ngata, who has been on the ballot for the past two years. Both are joined by 75 other former college football players and coaches.

A Look Back at Manti Te’o’s Legendary Career at Notre Dame

One of the all-time greats in Notre Dame history!

Monday brought news of the latest nominations to join the College Football Hall of Fame class of 2024 with all-time great Notre Dame linebacker [autotag]Manti Te’o[/autotag] appearing on the ballot for the first time.

Te’o was a mega-recruit out of Hawai’i that stunned the college football world when he committed to Notre Dame over USC back in the winter of 2009.

Te’o didn’t take long to make an impact as he recorded 63 tackles as a true freshman in what wound up being Charlie Weis’ final year as head coach.

2010 saw Te’o make a career high in tackles when he recorded 133 while recording one sack and making 9.5 tackles for loss while in 2011 he recorded a career high 13.5 tackles for loss.

Te’o went from being very good to downright great in 2012 however.  That year Te’o was the unquestioned leader of Notre Dame’s elite defense as he recorded 113 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and 5.5 tackles for loss.  His seven interceptions were a huge reason he was a Heisman Trophy finalist as he helped lead Notre Dame to a 12-0 regular season before falling in the national championship game.

Take a look back at the best photos of Manti Te’o at Notre Dame below:

Ki-Jana Carter and D.J. Dozier on College Football Hall of Fame ballot

Will the third time on the ballot be the one that sends Ki-Jana Carter and D.J. Dozier to the College Football Hall of Fame?

Two of Penn State’s all-time great running backs are hoping to be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as a member of the hall of fame class of 2025. The ballot, which was released by the College Football Hall of Fame and the National Football Foundation, includes former Penn State running backs Ki-Jana Carter and D.J. Dozier. Each may be hoping that the third time is the charm for their hall of fame chances.

Carter and Dozier are making an appearance eon the hall of fame ballot for a third consecutive season. Each player was on the ballot in 2022 along with former Penn State linebacker Paul Posluszny. All three players returned to the ballot in 2023 for the Class of 2024, but only Posluszny received enough votes to be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in the Class of 2024. Posluszny became Penn State’s 27th all-time College Football Hall of Fame member and joined former Nittany Lions like Kerry Collins, LaVar Arrington, John Cappelletti, and Joe Paterno.

Carter has a chance to join former teammate Kerry Collins. Carter was a first-team All-American during Penn State’s undefeated 1994 season and ended his Penn State career as one of the best backs to ever come through the program. Carter was a runner-up to 1994 Heisman Trophy winner Rashaan Salaam of Colorado and a finalist for the Maxwell Award, which was won by Collins. Carter ended his career earning co-MVP honors in the 1995 Rose Bowl victory over Oregon with 156 rushing yards, highlighted by a memorable 83-yard touchdown on Penn State’s first offensive play of the game.

Carter went on to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 1995 NFL draft of the Cincinnati Bengals. He spent a total of 10 years in the NFL.

Dozier was also a first-team All-American for Penn State in 1986. He is the only player in school history to lead the Nittany Lions in rushing for four consecutive seasons and he was a key offensive piece of Penn State’s 1986 national championship run. It was Dozier who scored the game-winning touchdown for Penn State in its upset victory over No. 1 Miami in the 1987 Fiesta Bowl.

The College Football Hall of Fame Class of 2025 will be announced in early 2025.

Former Alabama Crimson Tide football head coach Nick Saban is on the 2025 College Football Hall of Fame induction ballot

Former Alabama Crimson Tide head football coach Nick Saban has been announced as a possible inductee for the 2024 College Football Hall of Fame Class. The full ballot was recently announced, and Saban was one of a few notable figures in the realm of college football to be a first-time ballot member.

The Football Foundation, who revealed the ballot, said of Saban:

Along with Saban are two other former members of the Alabama football program. Heisman-winning running back Mark Ingram is also on the ballot, as is former Crimson Tide offensive tackle Chris Samuels.
