How did you react to the Boston Celtics winning Game 3?

How did you react to the Boston Celtics winning Game 3 of their 2024 Eastern Conference semifinals series vs. the Cleveland Cavaliers at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse this past Saturday (May 11) night?

When it came to the Celtics, they relished the victory. “Tonight was a great test, an opportunity for us to come out and respond, and play better and harder,” said star Celtics forward Jayson Tatum to the media after the win to the Associated Press, hinting at the sting of Boston’s Game 2 loss on their own home court of TD Garden. “There was a purpose behind every play. We did a good job communicating our actions.”

The hosts of the CLNS Media “Garden Report” podcast, Bobby Manning, Josue Pavon, Jimmy Toscano, A. Sherrod Blakely and John Zannis shared their own reactions to the win postgame. Check it out below!

Celtics ‘answered the call’ in Game 3 win over the Cavaliers

The Boston Celtics bounced back from a tough loss in game two, to take control of the series with a dominant performance in Cleveland.

The Boston Celtics won Game 3 of their 2024 Eastern Conference semifinal matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers this past Saturday (May 11). Boston now leads the series 2-1, with Game 4 set for Monday (May 13). Joe Mazzulla’s team bounced back from a 24-point loss in game two; they played a better brand of basketball on both sides of the floor, leading to some dominant stretches.

During Sunday’s (May 12) episode of ESPN’s SportsCenter, former NBA champion Richard Jefferson shared his thoughts on the Celtics’ bounce-back performance. He credited the team for responding after a difficult loss on their home floor.

If the Celtics can win game four, they will be heading back to the TD Garden for a potential close-out game, which would afford them some much-needed rest ahead of the Eastern Conference Finals. The New York Knicks and Indiana Pacers look set to take their series to seven games, which would work in the Celtics favor.

Would the Boston Celtics be favorites over the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2024 NBA Finals?

It would be an epic battle for the ages, if nothing else.

With the caveat that it is far too early to seriously be thinking about things from a team point of view, the recent play of the Minnesota Timberwolves has some asking if the Boston Celtics would be clear favorites over them in the 2024 NBA Finals.

Minnesota’s early success in their series vs. the reigning champion Denver Nuggets has raised the question of how a potential Celtics – Timberwolves finals matchup might go should both teams advance. And while the odds are against such a matchup, it would indeed be an epic battle for the ages by all accounts.

The hosts of the eponymous CLNS Media “Bob Ryan, Jeff Goodman, and Gary Tanguay” podcast weighed in on this potential matchup on a recent episode. Check it out below!

How did the Celtics adjust from their poor play in Game 2? What was different about Tatum in this one? How did Jaylen Brown change his approach on the court to help power Boston to a critical Game 3 victory? Will it affect our predictions for Game 4 on this coming Monday (May 13)?

The hosts of the CLNS Media “First to the Floor” podcast, Jake Issenberg, Ben Vallis, and Wayne Spooney, took a deep dive into all things Game 3 on their most recent episode. Check it out below!

Boston’s key to succes? ‘Play defense and the rest will take care of itself,’ says Celtics’ Jaylen Brown

“The rest will take care of itself because we’ve got enough talent in this locker room,” he added.

All season long at the Celtics Wire, we have challenged the prevailing notion that this iteration of the Boston Celtics is an elite offensive team that can play top-notch defense. Instead, we believe the Celtics are a unit that can deploy a brutal defense on opponents good enough to win vs. any team, even on nights when their usually-historic offense has an off night.

And star Celtics forward Jaylen Brown echoed those sentiments after he and his fellow Boston teammates regained control of their 2024 Eastern Conference semifinals series vs. the Cleveland Cavaliers at TD Garden this past Saturday (May 11) night.

Speaking after the Celtics’ 106-93 Game 3 victory, Brown said (via the Associated Press), “There’s nothing complicated about it: Play defense and the rest will take care of itself.”

“We could have done better, but we kept them under 100,” added the Georgia native. “We need everybody to be on the same page and everybody to come out with the same effort.”

“The rest will take care of itself because we’ve got enough talent in this locker room.”

Do you feel better about Jayson Tatum after his Game 3 performance with the Boston Celtics?

How much better do you feel about him now?

Do you feel better about Jayson Tatum after his Game 3 performance with the Boston Celtics in their 2024 Eastern Conference semifinals series with the Cleveland Cavaliers?

The St. Louis native rightfully has been criticized for his substandard play as a supposedly top-five player in the 2024 postseason, where he has rarely if ever been the best player on his team. And while Tatum did indeed do a lot of things off the ball and even with it, he also took a number of poor shots that did not involve his teammates or translate to success. How much better do you feel about him now?

Bobby Manning, Noa Dalzell and Josue Pavon discussed from Cleveland on the “Garden Report” podcast.

Derrick White joins the Garden Report after the Boston Celtics’ Game 3 win vs. Cavs

It’s not all that often that they have one of the players they are podding about stop by the show after the game.

Should Boston big man Kristaps Porzingis play vs. the Cleveland Cavaliers?

The likelihood of reinjury is high if he does, and it could even progress into something much worse.

Should star Boston Celtics big man Kristaps Porzingis hurry back from a soleus injury to help the Boston Celtics vs. the Cleveland Cavaliers in their 2024 Eastern Conference semifinals series? The Latvian center has been seen moving well and making shots at practice, but there is a significant risk in returning from his injury too soon.

The likelihood of reinjury is high if he does, and it could even progress into something much worse, like a torn or even ruptured Achilles tendon. Given where the Celtics are in this series with the Cavs, would the risk be worth the reward for all?

CLNS Media’s Bobby Manning and Celtics Blog’s Noa Dalzell discussed if he should return vs. the Cavs on a recent episode of the “Garden Report” podcast. Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear their thoughts!

Could the Celtics get knocked out of the playoffs by Cleveland?

Did the Boston Celtics loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers expose some weaknesses in their rotation?

The Boston Celtics are tied with the Cleveland Cavaliers after the first two games of their second round series. Joe Mazzulla’s team will now head to Cleveland to play games three and four. Boston was in a similar situation in the opening round of the playoffs after losing to the Miami Heat in game two.

During a May 10. episode of ESPN’s ‘NBA Countdown,’ Stephen A. Smith warned the Celtics were vulnerable and could potentially get eliminated from the 2024 NBA playoffs. He believes the Cavaliers will be a tough matchup for the championship favorites, especially without Kristaps Porzingis in the rotation.

With the series tied, the Celtics still have a high chance of progressing out of the second round and into the Eastern Conference Finals. A 24-point loss at home has undoubtedly raised some concerns. Nevertheless, if Boston wins its upcoming road games, they will be back in the driver’s seat.

You can watch Stephen A Smith share his full thoughts by clicking on the embedded video above.
