The Cleveland Cavaliers (17-2) and Atlanta Hawks (8-11) meet at State Farm Arena in an In-Season Tournament game Friday. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. ET (NBA TV). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Cavaliers vs. Hawks odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Hawks lead 1-0 after 135-124 victory in Cleveland on Wednesday as a 9-point underdog as the Over (242.5) cashed

The Cavaliers haven’t lost consecutive games at any point this season. The Wedneaday loss halted a 5-game cover streak. The Over has cashed at a 7-1 rate in the previous 8 contests.

The Hawks snapped a 3-game losing streak with the shocking win in Cleveland prior to Thanksgiving. It was their first cover after an 0-3 against the spread (ATS) skid, while the Over has connected in 3 straight outings.

Atlanta has won 2 straight meetings with Cleveland, including a 112-101 victory March 6 in the most recent meeting at State Farm Arena. The Hawks are also 6-4 SU in the past 10 meetings, while the teams are 5-5 ATS in the 10-game span. The Under is 4-2 in the past 6 games, and 6-3 across the previous 9 contests.

Cavaliers at Hawks picks and predictions

Prediction

Cavaliers 126, Hawks 117

Moneyline

The Cavaliers (-250) will cost you 2 1/2 times your potential return, and that’s a little too much risk for not enough reward.

We just saw why backing such a heavy favorite is such a bad idea on Wednesday, when Cleveland lost outright at home as a giant favorite over the Hawks (+190).

PASS.

Against the spread

Play CAVALIERS -5.5 (-115) in this rematch in an NBA Cup battle. The Hawks +5.5 (-105) have been a major thorn in the side of Cleveland, but they can’t win in back-to-back games, right?

Atlanta is 1-3 SU/ATS in the past 4 games despite the upset win over the Cavaliers on Wednesday in Cleveland.

Over/Under

UNDER 245.5 (-115) is the play in Friday’s rematch.

There is no way to justify betting an Over total so high. Yes, we saw 259 combined points in the front end of the home-and-home set.

However, Atlanta has allowed 120 or more points in 4 consecutive outings, while going for at least 119 points. This definitely won’t being a defensive slog, but 246 or more is quite a lot.

For Cleveland, the Over is on a 6-1 run in the past 7 games, going for at least 114 points in 8 consecutive outings. However, the defense has allowed 108 or fewer points in 3 of the past 7 outings.

Cleveland Cavaliers at Atlanta Hawks odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Cleveland Cavaliers at Atlanta Hawks odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Cleveland Cavaliers (40-21) travel to meet the Atlanta Hawks (27-34) Wednesday at State Farm Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Cavaliers vs. Hawks odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Cavaliers lead 3-0; Cleveland won the most recent meeting 116-95 in Atlanta on Jan. 20, covering as a 2-point favorite as the Under (231.5) cashed.

The Cavaliers won an emotional 105-104 game Tuesday night against the No. 1 seed in the East, the Boston Celtics. Cleveland was playing without leading scorer G Donovan Mitchell, who will also miss this game, due to a sore left knee which required a platelet-rich plasma injection.

Cleveland has won and covered 2 of the past 3 games while cashing the Under in all 3 games without Mitchell. G Max Strus (knee) also missed Tuesday’s game, and C Evan Mobley (ankle) suffered an ankle injury in the 3rd quarter. The center was reportedly on crutches after the game, so his status for Atlanta in doubt.

The Hawks have won and covered 3 of the past 5 games, while going a respectable 7-3 straight up (SU) in the past 10 at home, including a 6-3 against the spread (ATS) run in the past 9 at State Farm Arena.

Cavaliers at Hawks picks and predictions

Prediction

Cavaliers 109, Hawks 106

Moneyline

The CAVALIERS (+114) are a risky play on the road, but worth a look. They were extremely risky in Cleveland Tuesday night, and beat the best team in the NBA down starters Mitchell and Strus. They also lost a 3rd started midway through the 3rd quarter with Mobley exiting. Still, Cleveland managed to overcome, showing its depth. Dean Wade came off the bench for 23 points and 8 boards in 21 minutes, hitting 6 triples in the process.

Cleveland has beaten the Hawks (-134) in all 3 meetings this season, and it is coming in with a lot of confidence after overcoming the Celtics.

Against the spread

The CAVALIERS +2.5 (-112) are the play if you’re a little more on the conservative side, or you feel the Hawks -2.5 (-108) are going to win by just 1 or 2 points.

Cleveland has covered 4 in a row in this series, and 5 of the past 6 meetings. But if you like the Cavs, they’re a better value on the moneyline.

Over/Under

UNDER 216 (-108) is the play with Mitchell, and his team-best 28.0 PPG on the shelf. In Cleveland’s big win against Boston, the Under cashed rather easily. The total has gone low in all 3 games for the Cavs without Spida in the lineup.

The Hawks hit the Over in the win at MSG against the Knicks on Tuesday, but the Under is 5-2 in the past 7 outings. Both of these teams played Tuesday night, and then hopped a plane for the ATL. We could see some tired legs, especially in the 1st half.

The Cleveland Cavaliers (38-24) battle the Atlanta Hawks (29-30) Friday. Tip from State Farm Arena is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Cavaliers vs. Hawks odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Cavaliers beat the Hawks 114-102 on Nov. 21, covering as 3-point road favorites as the Under (227) hit.

Cleveland will be on the second night of a back-to-back after losing 115-109 at home to the Denver Nuggets Thursday, failing to cover as a 3-point favorite. The Cavaliers are 0-3 against the spread (ATS) in their last 3 games yet 6-3 ATS over their last 9.

The Hawks last played on Feb. 15, losing 122-102 to the New York Knicks as 3.5-point home favorites. They are 2-4 ATS over their last 6 games. Atlanta is 26-33 ATS and 33-26 O/U this season.

Cavaliers at Hawks picks and predictions

Prediction

Cavaliers 117, Hawks 113

Moneyline

PASS.

I’ll take the 1-point spread with the road underdog here instead of the moneyline.

Against the spread

BET CAVALIERS +1.5 (-118).

The Hawks failed to cover 2 in a row prior to the All-Star break and are 2-4 ATS over their last 6 games. They are 2-2 ATS over their last 4 home games as well. Cleveland is a strong 12-8-3 ATS following a loss.

With Collins out, the Hawks’ undermanned frontcourt could struggle against one of the better frontcourts in the NBA. The Cavs are 3-1 ATS in their last 4 road games. Considering the trends, back the CAVALIERS +1.5 (-118).

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 227.5 (-105).

The Cavaliers have gone Over in 3 straight games and in 4 of their last 5, scoring at least 112 points in 2 of their last 3. The Hawks are 1-1 O/U in their last 2 outings and have scored at least 116 points in 3 of their last 4 games.

Both teams have had strong offenses over the last few weeks. Atlanta is 21-11 O/U as a favorite as well. Back the OVER 227.5 (-105).

Cleveland Cavaliers at Atlanta Hawks odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Cleveland Cavaliers at Atlanta Hawks and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Atlanta Hawks (39-37) host the Cleveland Cavaliers (42-24) Thursday for a 7:30 p.m. ET game at the State Farm Arena. Below, we look at the Cavaliers vs. Hawks odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

Cleveland has lost 4 of 5 and 6 straight against the spread (ATS) with the latest being a 120-112 defeat Wednesday at home to the Dallas Mavericks.

Atlanta has won 4 of 5 including 3 consecutive games (4-1 ATS), the most recent a 136-118 beatdown of the Thunder Wednesday in Oklahoma City.

The Hawks are 2-1 straight up (SU) and ATS versus the Cavs this season and the total is 2-1 Over/Under (O/U).

Cavaliers at Hawks odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Cavaliers 119, Hawks 116

Money line

SPRINKLE on CAVALIERS (+200), if at all, because Cleveland’s spread is the sharper play since both teams are playing in the second of a back-to-back but the Hawks are a team worth fading in this spot.

According to CleaningTheGlass.com (CTG), Atlanta is 0-3 SU in games where both teams are playing with no rest days with the second-WORST adjusted net rating (minus-10.7).

Also, Cleveland’s offense showed up in Wednesday’s loss to Dallas and the Cavs outscored the Mavs in 2 of the 4 quarters, but lost the third quarter 39-22 to key the defeat.

If Cleveland can stay hot from the field then the Cavs will certainly cover the spread and perhaps steal this game outright.

Again, my preferred play is Cleveland plus the points but there’s a little value on the CAVALIERS (+200).

PLAY: Free, daily sports pick’em contests. Play now!

Against the spread

Definitely BET the CAVALIERS +5.5 (-105) instead of or heavier than their ML because the Hawks -5.5 (-120) have the WORST ATS margin (minus-13.3) in games where Atlanta and its opponent are both in the second of a back-to-back, per CTG.

Furthermore, this is a more profitable spot for the Cavs who are 9-5 ATS as 5-to-7-point underdogs whereas the Hawks are just 4-4 ATS as 5-to-7-point favorites.

On top of that, Cleveland should be at peak motivation considering its 2 games behind the Toronto Raptors for the sixth and final non-play-in seed in the East.

The CAVALIERS PLUS THE POINTS is my favorite wager in this game.

Over/Under

PASS with a “lean” towards the Over 228.5 (-115) because Cleveland’s offense lit up a good Dallas defense Wednesday and Atlanta is putting up 119.9 points per game in the last two weeks.

However, we are getting by far the worst of the number since the Cavaliers-Hawks total opened at 221.5 and has been steamed up a touchdown to the current number. At this point, there would be more value in fading the line movement regardless of how I feel about the matchup.

Cavaliers at Hawks: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Hawks 113, Cavaliers 101

Money line (ML)

The Hawks (-250) are a little on the expensive side, as they will cost you two and a half times your potential return. That’s way past my personal money line limit of -180.

Plus, the Cavaliers (+200) just beat the Hawks on Feb. 23 in Cleveland by a 112-111 count, winning straight up as a 7.5-point underdog.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The HAWKS -6 (-110) lost straight up to the Cavaliers +6 (-110) in Cleveland on Feb. 23, and Cleveland is 5-1 ATS across the past six games overall.

Atlanta heads in on a four-game win streak, and they have covered each of its past three contests at home. Look for Atlanta to exact a little revenge.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 223.5 (-110) is the way to go, as Cleveland looked pretty tired and disinterested in Friday’s 116-82 loss in New Orleans.

The Cavaliers have also hit the Under in seven of the last nine games overall, including their win over the Hawks on Feb. 23. The Under is also 7-2 in Cleveland’s past nine as a ‘dog, and 4-1 in their past five meetings with Atlanta.

Cavaliers at Hawks: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Hawks 121, Cavaliers 117

Money line (ML)

The Hawks (-275) should be able to push past the Cavaliers, who are cooling off after a hot 3-0 start. However, risking nearly three times your potential return on a team which struggles so much defensively is not advised. AVOID.

Against the spread (ATS)

The CAVALIERS +6.5 (-110) are the play. You’ll be going with the series trends here as the Cavs are 4-0 ATS in the past four head-to-head meetings. They’re also 7-3 ATS in their past 10 trips to the ATL.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 233.5 (-110) is the play, but very, very lightly. The series trends point to an Over, going 23-8 in the previous 31 meetings, although a lot of personnel has changed during that span. The Over is 4-1 in the past five in Atlanta. What drives this wager, though, is Atlanta’s high-scoring ways, and lack of defense.
