First look: Cincinnati Bengals at Kansas City Chiefs odds and lines

Looking at Sunday’s Cincinnati Bengals at Kansas City Chiefs AFC title game odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The Cincinnati Bengals (14-4) and Kansas City Chiefs (15-3) will face off in the AFC Championship Game for the 2nd straight season. Sunday’s kickoff from GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium is set for 6:30 p.m. ET (CBS). Below, we look at Bengals vs. Chiefs odds from Tipico Sportsbook; check back for all our NFL picks and predictions.

The Bengals handily defeated the Buffalo Bills Sunday in the Divisional Round 27-10 as 6-point road underdogs. That followed the Bengals’ 24-17 home win over the Baltimore Ravens as 7.5-point favorites Wild Card Weekend. The Bengals have won 10 straight games, going 8-1-1 against the spread (ATS) during that stretch, which includes a 27-24 Week 13 home win against the Chiefs as 2.5-point underdogs.

The Chiefs have won 6 straight games (2-4 ATS during that span) and are coming off a 27-20 home win over the Jacksonville Jaguars Saturday, although they failed to cover as 10-point favorites. The status of QB Patrick Mahomes will have to be monitored as the MVP candidate suffered a high ankle sprain during the 1st quarter against the Jaguars. Mahomes managed to finish the game but did exit for a short time in order to receive treatment on his ankle.

Cincinnati Bengals at Kansas City Chiefs odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Sunday’s Cincinnati Bengals at Kansas City Chiefs AFC Championship odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Cincinnati Bengals (12-7) visit the Kansas City Chiefs (14-5) Sunday for the AFC Championship Game at Arrowhead Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET (on CBS). Below, we look at the Bengals vs. Chiefs odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Bengals have grinded out a pair of low-scoring playoff wins. They beat the Las Vegas Raiders at home in a Wild Card matchup 26-19 before going on the road to upset the AFC’s top-seeded Tennessee Titans 19-16 in the Divisional Round. The Bengals are 2-0 against the spread (ATS) in the postseason, with the Under cashing in both outings.

The Chiefs have used offense to power past their foes, doubling up the Pittsburgh Steelers 42-21 in a home Wild Card tilt before outlasting the Buffalo Bills in a classic 42-36 Divisional Round overtime thriller. The Chiefs are also 2-0 ATS in the postseason, with the Over hitting in each game.

Bengals at Chiefs odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Chiefs 31, Bengals 26

Money line

AVOID.

Kansas City (-340) will cost 3.4 times your potential return. That’s just too risky for such a small amount of winnings, especially in a potentially close game.

More NFL Championship coverage:

Against the spread

CINCINNATI +7.5 (-115) is a strong play, even with a little extra juice as long as the number stays above 7 and a hook.

I’m not as big of a fan of this number if it’s a flat 7, although the Bengals are playing well enough in these playoffs to take those points.

The Bengals have the offensive skill position players to not only hang with QB Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, but potentially win this one outright if the home team were to make any mistakes.

Over/Under

The OVER 54.5 (-108) is the best play on the board in this early game on Championship Week.

These teams just played in the Queen City in Week 17 with QB Joe Burrow and the Bengals outlasting the high-octane Chiefs 34-31. A change of venue might change the overall winner, but there still will be plenty of offense regardless of where they play this game.

First look: Cincinnati Bengals at Kansas City Chiefs odds and lines

Looking at Sunday’s Cincinnati Bengals at Kansas City Chiefs conference championship NFL odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The Cincinnati Bengals are on the road for the AFC Championship with the Kansas City Chiefs Sunday. Kickoff from GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium is set for 3 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Bengals vs. Chiefs odds and lines; check back for our NFL picks and predictions.

The Bengals pulled off a 19-16 upset of the top-seeded Tennessee Titans in the AFC Divisional Round action Saturday.  Cincinnati took the lead a little more than 3 minutes into the opening quarter and did not trail the entire game, although the Titans did manage to level the score on two occasions.

PK Evan McPherson kicked a 53- yard game-winning field goal as time expired, one of four he made in the victory and his second of greater than 50 yards.

QB Joe Burrow was 28-for-37 passing for 348 yards but was held without a touchdown and tossed 1 interception while being sacked 9 times. WR Ja’Marr Chase made 5 catches for 109 yards while RB Joe Mixon had 14 carries for 54 yards and scored the Bengals’ only touchdown.

The Chiefs snuck by the Buffalo Bills 42-26 as the only favorite escape the Divisional Round and they needed overtime to do it after a dramatic finish to regulation time.

The Chiefs and Bills ended the first and second quarters all square and the home side took a slim 2-point lead into the final frame. The final two minutes of regulation were an offensive outburst — Buffalo scored a touchdown with 1:54 remaining to take a 29-26 lead, Kansas City responded with a score with 1:02 left to recapture the lead, and Buffalo scored again with 13 seconds remaining to again switch to the driver seat.

QB Patrick Mahomes led a 44-yard drive in the final seconds to set up a 49-yard field goal by PK Harrison Butker to tie the game and force overtime. The Chiefs won the coin toss and marched downfield before Mahomes and TE Travis Kelce connected on an 8-yard touchdown pass for the victory. Mahomes finished with 3 TDs on 378 passing yards while adding 69 rushing yards and a score on the ground.

Bengals at Chiefs head-to-head

These two teams met for the first time since 2018 when they clashed in Week 17. Cincinnati picked up a 34-31 victory on the strength of outscoring Kansas City 17-3 in the second half. Much like in their Divisional Round victory, the win over Kansas was sealed with a McPherson field goal as time expired.

Kansas City won 45-10 in Mahomes’ only other meeting with Cincinnati in 2018, although that was before the Burrow-era for the Bengals.

The Chiefs enter Sunday on a run of seven consecutive Overs and the Bengals come in on the heels of a 6-0 ATS streak.
