Nevada Travels To U.S Virgin Islands For Paradise Jam Tournament, Will Play Fordham on Friday
The Nevada Wolf Pack will travel to the U.S. Virgin Islands to play in the 2019 Paradise Jam Tournament and their first game will be against the Fordham Rams.
Nevada is heading into this tournament on a two-game losing streak and their most recent defeat was on Tuesday night against Davidson. In that game against Davidson the Wolf Pack defense was abysmal as Davidson shot 46 percent from the three point line and on offense Nevada turned it over 21 times as Davidson cruised to a 91-71 victory.
Nevada will need to clean up their offensive and defensive problems quickly as they prepare to play in the Paradise Jam tournament. In their first game of this tournament on Friday, they take on the Fordham Rams who are 3-0 but the opponents the Rams have played are a combined 3-8 so far this season. This contest against the Wolf Pack will provide Fordham with a bit of a challenge for them on Friday,
The Rams top players to watch for start with is forward Chuba Ohams from Brooklyn, New York. Ohams leads the team in points as he is averaging 14 points per game to go along with eight rebounds per game. Ohams front court teammate, Onyi Eyisin, is tied for second on the team in points with 11.5 points per game and he is averaging 10.5 rebounds per game. This frontcourt tandem for Fordham is one that could give the Wolf Pack a challenge when they play on Friday.
Joining Nevada and Fordham in the 2019 Paradise Jam Tournament field is Valparaiso, Grand Canyon University, Cincinnati, Illinois State, Bowling Green, and Western Kentucky. If Nevada were to defeat Fordham they would face the winner of the Valparaiso and Grand Canyon University on Sunday. If Nevada were to lose to Fordham, they would be placed in the losers bracket where they would play the Valpo/GCU loser the next day.
