Tennessee’s Christian Moore starts in left field for Hyannis.

Tennessee freshman Christian Moore is playing with the Hyannis Harbor Hawks in the Cape Cod Baseball League.

In his second game with the Harbor Hawks Sunday, Moore started in left field. He went 1-for-3, recording one triple and one run in Hyannis’ 7-3 win against the Chatham Anglers.

In his Cape Cod Baseball League debut Saturday, Moore started at second base in Hyannis’ 1-1 tie against the Bourne Braves. He went 1-for-3 and scored one run.

Moore appeared in 51 games, starting 29 contests, for the Vols during the 2022 season. He recorded a .305 batting average, while totaling 10 home runs, 36 RBIs, 30 runs, 36 hits, three doubles, two triples, 27 walks and one stolen base.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Moore was named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week on April 25.

Founded in 1885, the Cape Cod Baseball League is a collegiate summer league located on Cape Cod in Massachusetts.

10 teams compete in the Cape Cod Baseball League, composed of East and West divisions.

In 1985, the Cape Cod Baseball League became the first collegiate summer league to use wood bats.

The 2022 season will begin June 12 and is slated to conclude Aug. 2. Playoffs are scheduled to begin Aug. 4.

Christian Moore recaps his game No. 3 performance at Florida.

No. 1 Tennessee (37-3, 17-1 SEC) defeated Florida (23-17, 6-12 SEC), 6-4, in 11 innings Sunday at Condron Family Ballpark.

Sunday’s contest concluded a three-game Southeastern Conference series between the Vols and Gators.

The Vols defeated Florida, 3-0, in game No. 2 Saturday.

Tennessee defeated the Gators, 8-2, Friday in game No. 1.

Freshman Christian Moore went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBIs, one run and one walk against the Gators Sunday.

Tennessee did not have a hit until the seventh inning. The Vols scored three runs in the ninth inning to tie the game and send the contest to extra innings.
