Analyzing Tuesday’s Chicago Bulls at Washington Wizards odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Chicago Bulls (7-11) and Washington Wizards (2-13) meet in NBA Cup group play Tuesday. Tip-off from Capital One Arena is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Bulls vs. Wizards odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting; Bulls won 2-1 last season

The Bulls are coming off a 142-131 loss as 4-point underdogs against the visiting Memphis Grizzlies Saturday with the Over (244) hitting. Chicago has alternated wins and losses over its last 5 games, as well as covers and non-covers.

The Wizards pushed as 12-point underdogs in a 115-103 loss at the Indiana Pacers Sunday as the Under (240) cashed. Washington has lost 11 consecutive games straight up (SU), going 2-8-1 against the spread (ATS).

The Bulls went 2-1 ATS in 3 meetings last season, while the Over went 2-1. In their last meeting on April 12, Chicago covered as a 1.5-point underdog in a 129-127 win at Washington while the Over (224.5) hit. The Bulls were resting multiple starters in that victory after clinching the ninth seed in the East the night before.

Bulls at Wizards picks and predictions

Prediction

Bulls 125, Wizards 115

Moneyline

The Bulls (-210) will likely hand Washington its 12th straight loss, but the bid-ask difference is too high in this market to recommend a play.

PASS. Bet the spread and/or total instead.

Against the spread

This is about as square as it gets, but I’ve lost enough bets this season trying to get value with Washington. Forget its 11-game SU skid, it’s still a horrendous 2-8-1 ATS in its last 11 games. This team somehow manages to keep getting worse while the market tries to catch up by lowering its power rating.

Who are the Bulls to be laying 4.5 on the road? There’s an argument that this spread is a little high, but the Wizards just can’t seem to meet the market’s expectation of them.

BET BULLS -4.5 (-115).

Over/Under

Washington is averaging 102.25 points over its last 4 games, while the O/U has gone 1-3.

The Bulls have scored 131 or more points in back-to-back games, but they’re still 18th on the season in offensive efficiency. Let’s not overreact to a 2-game sample size.

BET UNDER 245.5 (-115).

Chicago Bulls at Washington Wizards odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Chicago Bulls at Washington Wizards odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Chicago Bulls (19-22) and Washington Wizards (17-24) meet Wednesday at Capital One Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Bulls vs. Wizards odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Bulls covered the spread as 9.5-point underdogs in a 107-99 loss at the Boston Celtics Monday. F DeMar DeRozan left with a quad injury in the 3rd quarter and the 5-time All-Star is questionable for Wednesday. The Bulls are 4-0 against the spread (ATS) in their last 4 games.

The Wizards failed to cover as 1.5-point home favorites in a 132-112 loss vs. the New Orleans Pelicans Monday. G Bradley Beal (hamstring) was out for the 5th time in 6 games as Washington dropped its 3rd straight contest. The Wizards are 2-9-1 ATS vs. the Bulls in the last 12 meetings in Washington.

Bulls at Wizards picks and predictions

Prediction

Bulls 121, Wizards 111

Moneyline

BET BULLS (+100).

The Bulls are 4-1 in the last 5 meetings with Washington and G Zach LaVine is capable of carrying the offense if DeRozan sits out. Chicago opened as a small favorite Wednesday and became the underdog after reports that DeRozan didn’t participate at the morning shootaround. This market move is an over-adjustment and LaVine and C Nikola Vucevic should be able to replace DeRozan’s production for 1 game.

Against the spread

PASS.

There is no need to buy the extra 1.5 points on the Bulls when Chicago should win straight up. Bet the moneyline or the total instead.

Over/Under

BET OVER 228.5 (-110).

The Over is 6-1 in Washington’s last 7 home games and 4-1 in the Wizards’ last 5 home games vs. teams with a losing road record. The Over is 3-1 in Chicago’s last 4 road games and Wednesday’s matchup should be another high-scoring affair as LaVine becomes Chicago’s No. 1 option on offense.

Chicago Bulls at Washington Wizards odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Chicago Bulls at Washington Wizards odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Chicago Bulls (1-0) visit Capital One Arena to face the Washington Wizards (1-0) Friday. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Bulls vs. Wizards odds, and our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Wizards started their game against the Indiana Pacers Wednesday with their foot on the gas on the way to a 114-107 victory as a 2.5-point favorite.  Their dribble penetration created a ton of open looks. However, they could not really seal the game, and the Pacers still had a chance to tie things with less than a minute to go.

The Chicago Bulls started their season at the Miami Heat and despite missing all-star G Zach LaVine they recorded a 116-108 victory as15.5-point underdogs. Oddly the Bulls had a worse shooting percentage in every category (3pt, 2pt, and FT) but they put up more shots and had fewer turnovers.

Bulls at Wizards picks and predictions

Prediction

Bulls 114, Wizards 106

Moneyline

The Bulls have dominated the Wizards head-to-head, winning 10 of the past 12 meetings overall and 7 of the past 9 meetings in Washington. However, the Wizards look like they did to start the 2021 season when they had a record of 10-3. I will AVOID the moneyline and look elsewhere.

Against the spread

If we go back to last season the Wizards were the 2nd-worst team in the NBA at covering after a win, going 12-23 ATS. The Bulls were the 6th best with a 25-22 ATS.

BET BULLS +2.5 (-112).

Over/Under

This season NBA teams are averaging 110.5 points a game, meaning the 221.5 total is essentially a coin-flip. However, both the Wizards and Bulls rank in the top half of the league in terms of scoring after 1 game.

However, the Under has hit in 20 of the last 29 games the Bulls played in Washington.

Going back to the 2021-2022 season, the Bulls hit the Under 66.7% of the time they play on the road as underdogs (16-8-1), the 3rd highest rate of Unders in the NBA along that span.

LEAN UNDER 221.5 (-105).

Bulls at Wizards: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Wizards 121, Bulls 117

Money line (ML)

Chicago took down Washington 115-107 in their first meeting Tuesday. The game was decided, as most NBA games are nowadays, by how each side did behind the arc: The Wizards made 10 threes at a 27% clip while the Bulls sunk 15 of their 36 3-point attempts (41.7%).

As we’ve seen in the NBA over the past week, it’s hard to beat the same team twice in a row. There’s going to be a lot of head-to-head doubleheaders this year in the NBA due to the COVID-altered climate, and there has been plenty of examples already of how hard it is for teams to sweep these back-to-backs.

The Wizards are getting back a key contributor in second-year starting PF Rui Hachimura, who makes his season debut after missing the first four games of the season due to an eye issue.

Officially, I’ll PASS ON THE MONEY LINE. I lean Washington plus the points, but I don’t like them enough in this spot to sprinkle on the money line.

Against the spread (ATS)

Neither one of these franchises has made the playoffs over the past couple of years, but interestingly enough the Chicago has a 5-2 record against Washington when Bulls SG Zach LaVine and Wizards All-Star Bradley Beal face-off.

Also, Washington is 6-1 ATS in the last seven games vs. Chicago. I only lean BULLS +5.5 (-110) for a half-unit because I prefer the total in this one.

Over/Under (O/U)

Since their first meeting Tuesday went Under the total by 16 points, there’s value in BETTING OVER 234.5 (-110) in today’s game. Chicago and Washington have the second-and third-fastest pace in the NBA, and both teams have a below-average defensive rating.

Another reason to like the Over is that both teams send opponents to the charity stripe at an alarming rate. Washington’s defense has the highest free throw-to-field goal attempt rate in the league and Chicago is 2nd FTA/FGA as an offense, but the Bulls’ defense is ranked 25th in FTA/FGA.
