Tennessee advances to its third consecutive NCAA Tournament Super Regional. The Vols will play either Southern Miss or Penn from the NCAA Tournament Auburn Regional final.

No. 2 seed Tennessee (41-19, 16-14 SEC) defeated No. 3 Charlotte (36-28, 17-12 C-USA, 9-2, Sunday to win the NCAA Tournament Clemson Regional at Doug Kingsmore Stadium in Clemson, South Carolina.

Christian Moore hit two home runs and four RBIs for the Vols.

The Vols scored three runs in the fourth inning after Moore and Blake Burke each recorded RBIs with sacrifice flies. Zane Denton hit a solo home run to extend Tennessee’s lead to 4-0.

Charlotte’s Austin Knight, a former Vol, hit a solo home run in the fifth inning.

The 49ers scored one run in the sixth inning on an RBI single by Cam Fisher.
