Wisconsin landed a commitment from UT-Martin transfer defensive lineman Charles Perkins on Monday.
Perkins is the Badgers’ third transfer addition on the defensive line and sixth transfer commitment overall. He is also the program’s third commitment of the day, joining Western Michigan defensive lineman Corey Walker and San Diego State quarterback Danny O’Neil.

Perkins joins the Badgers after three seasons at UT-Martin. The 6’3,” 300-pound lineman was a Football Championship Subdivision Freshman All-American in 2023 after totaling 24 total tackles, four tackles for loss and four sacks. He took a further step forward in 2024 as a redshirt sophomore, tallying 40 tackles, nine tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble.
He transfers to Wisconsin with two years of eligibility remaining.

Wisconsin’s new-look defensive tackle room now includes three impact transfers — Perkins, Walker and Parker Petersen. They join a returning group of veterans Ben Barten and Brandon Lane, and underclassmen Jamel Howard and Dillan Johnson.
The position was among the team’s biggest roster needs entering the transfer cycle with most of its 2024 production gone to the portal or graduation. That need appears to be fully addressed.
