Former Chargers safety Eric Weddle announced his retirement at 35 years old after 13 seasons in the NFL.
Weddle went to his personal Twitter account to let everyone know that he is hanging up his cleats.

Weddle was drafted by the Chargers in the second round of the 2007 NFL draft.
Weddle earned four All-Pro honors and three Pro Bowl selections in nine years with the Bolts. The versatile free safety racked up 847 tackles and 19 interceptions and scored four defensive touchdowns with San Diego.
He tied for the league lead with seven interceptions in 2011 and topped 100 tackles in a season three times with the Bolts. Weddle served as a team captain in each of his last five seasons with the club.
The Fontana native went on to join the Baltimore Ravens in 2016. He was selected to the Pro Bowl in each of his three seasons with the team. In 2019, Weddle was released and then ended up signing a deal with the Los Angeles Rams, where he accrued one season with them.
To this day, Weddle, who was known for his mohawk and epic beard, is a fan favorite. Weddle and quarterback Philip Rivers also remain close friends.
