Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins’ status is in doubt for Sunday’s game against the Chargers.
Hopkins has been nursing an ankle injury and was a non-participant at practice on Wednesday and Thursday.
Hopkins, who signed a two-year deal worth $26 million this offseason, was one of the few bright spots on offense in Week 1. He was by far Ryan Tannehill’s favorite target, finishing the game with 65 yards on seven catches.
Not having Hopkins would be a considerable loss for Tennessee, who struggled offensively in their loss to the Saints. This would be a break for the Chargers secondary, however.
If Hopkins can’t go, second-year Treylon Burks would be positioned to be the team’s No. 1 wideout this weekend. Burks only had two receptions for 18 yards this past Sunday.
The Titans will release their final injury report on Friday, which will give us a better idea of whether Hopkins will be available this weekend.
