On Sept. 27, the Milwaukee Bucks took the NBA by surprise, landing Damian Lillard as part of a three-team deal. While the trade has ramifications for contending teams around the league, the Boston Celtics likely felt the shock waves harder than some. Earlier this summer, Brad Stevens struck his own three-team deal to land Kristaps Porzingis.
However, Lillard teaming with Giannis Antetokounmpo has ensured the Bucks have become the favorites to advance out of the Eastern Conference, and potentially win a championship in the coming season. Still, the Celtics have better depth than Milwaukee, and their stars are younger and more durable.
Nevertheless, in the latest episode of the “Green With Envy” podcast, hosts Adam Taylor and Will Weir discuss the knock-on effect Lillard’s move to Milwaukee will have on Boston. The duo also dive into potential landing spots for Jrue Holiday – a player the Celtics are rumored to be interested in.
