RECRUITING SPOTLIGHT: 2024 LB, Alabama commit Cayden Jones

This week, the Recruiting Spotlight is put on highlight 2024 linebacker and Alabama commit Cayden Jones.

An Alabama commit that does not receive enough recognition is 2024 four-star linebacker Cayden Jones. The North Carolina native committed to Alabama in April and has been locked in with the Crimson Tide ever since.

Jones plays linebacker for The Christ School in Arden, North Carolina. It has not been the ideal start for the Greenies in 2023. The team is off to an 0-3 start to the season. However, Jones has performed well to begin his senior season.

Jones has recorded 30 tackles and four tackles for loss in three games this season. Meaning he averages 10 tackles per game. An interesting thing to note is that Jones’ team has played three out-of-state teams to kick off the season. Their opponents thus far have been: Lowndes High School (GA), St. Joseph Regional High School (NJ), and Carrollwood Day High School (FL). The level of competition is likely stronger than it will be for the rest of the season.

Therefore, Jones will continue to impress from a statistical standpoint as well as from his performance on the Greenies defense.

Jones is one of three linebackers committed to the Crimson Tide as a part of the 2024 recruiting class. He is joined by four-star Sterling Dixon and three-star Justin Okoronkwo.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow Jones’ senior season as well as other Alabama football recruiting news.

BREAKING: Alabama lands commitment from 2024 4-Star LB Cayden Jones

2024 linebacker Cayden Jones announced his commitment to Alabama on Friday afternoon. Jones chose the Tide over other schools like North Carolina State, Tennesee, and South Carolina.

2024 linebacker Cayden Jones announced his commitment to Alabama on Friday afternoon. Jones recently took an unofficial visit to Tuscaloosa on April 14.

Jones plays for Christ School in Arden, North Carolina. As a junior, Jones tallied 50 tackles, three tackles for loss, and two fumble recoveries. The interesting thing to note regarding Jones is that he has been playing for the school’s varsity football team since he was in the eighth grade.

When asked by On3’s Hayes Fawcett on why he chose to commit to the Crimson Tide, he had this to say:

“Alabama had been the front runner for me before they even offered me. Getting on campus was really important because I got to see the Alabama standard.  It just felt right being on campus and talking with the Coaches. Coach Cox and Coach Bala weighed in a lot in my decision because of our relationships. Both of those guys are great men and that’s who I want to push me.”

Jones joins a recruiting class that currently has six commitments. He is joined by five-stars Julian Sayin, Jaylen Mbakwe, and Perry Thompson as well as four-stars Sterling Dixon and Rico Scott.

Alabama offers 2024 LB Cayden Jones

Cayden Jones received an offer from Alabama following his Junior Day visit. He is the 18th linebacker that the Tide have offered in the 2024 recruiting cycle.

Alabama hosted one of the highest-rated prospects from North Carolina for an unofficial visit last weekend. Following the visit, the Tide offered 2024 linebacker, Cayden Jones.

Jones plays linebacker at Christ School in Arden, North Carolina. He is listed at 6-foot-4, 205 pounds on 247Sports. As a junior, Jones tallied 50 tackles, three tackles for loss, and two sacks.

His size and pursuit of the ball stand out on film. One thing that Alabama has lacked in recent years is a linebacker that can truly run from sideline to sideline. Jones looks like he could add that to Alabama’s linebacker room.
