The Cleveland Cavaliers meet the Boston Celtics Wednesday in Game 5 of the best-of-7 Western Conference 2nd-round series. The Celtics led the series 3-1. Tip-off from TD Garden is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (TNT). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Cavaliers vs. Celtics odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.
After getting a split in Boston, the Cavaliers dropped both games in Cleveland to face elimination in Game 5. G Donovan Mitchell sat out Game 4 with a strained left calf which left G Darius Garland to pick up the slack offensively, scoring 30 points and added 7 assists. The Cavs were dominated on the glass, being outrebounded 48-32.
F Jayson Tatum did what he does best, put the Celtics on his back and willed them to a 109-102 victory on Monday night. He had 33 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals and a block. Boston also got 27 points from G Jaylen Brown and every starter had at least 6 boards in the victory. The Celtics look to punch their ticket to their 3rd straight Eastern Conference finals on Wednesday night.

Cavaliers at Celtics picks and predictions
Prediction
Celtics 118, Cavaliers 100
Moneyline
PASS.
I’ve got no doubt that the Celtics (-1400) finish this series at home in Game 5. As confidence as I am, I’m not going to bet this crazy high moneyline. I’ll save my wager for the spread.
Against the spread
BET CELTICS -14.5 (-110).
Boston will do all they can to end this series in Game 5 to give themselves a nice break before the next round. I like them to cover this line, but I’m not going to lie that I’ll be less confident if Mitchell is able to suit up.
The Celtics defense has kept the Cavaliers offense in check. Cleveland averaged 110 per game but have only cleared that number 1 time in this series.
Over/Under
PASS.
My lean would be to take the Over, but this series is 2-2 against the Over. The Celtics were the 2nd-highest scoring team in the league this season at 119 points per game, but have hit that number just once thus far in this series.
The number is so low, it’s very tempting, so if you’ve got a gun to my head, I’ll take the Over but I’m going to just stay away.
