If you don’t want to fiddle around with the points, and just wish to declare a straight-up winner, New York isn’t priced out of line.

Not only have the KNICKS -2.5 (-110) won 5 of the last 6 meetings straight up dating back to Dec. 4, but New York is an impressive 5-1 ATS during the span, too.

The Cavaliers +2.5 (-110) are ice-cold against the number overall, going 2-5-1 ATS in the last 8 games overall since the regular season, while going just 1-5 ATS in the last 6 in the conference quarterfinals round.

Over/Under

UNDER 206.5 (-110) looks like an awfully low number, but it isn’t really, if you consider we had a total of just 178 points in Game 3.

The Knicks have 3 wins on the season, but they haven’t beaten any quality opponents, which the Cavaliers qualify as. New York lost to the Memphis Grizzlies and Milwaukee and beat the Detroit Pistons, Charlotte Hornets and Orlando Magic — teams with a combined 5-13 record this season.

The Cavaliers have the 2nd-best record in the Eastern Conference, will be at home and have wins over Boston and the Washington Wizards, two teams over .500.

Cleveland has the 2nd-best net rating and 3rd-best defensive rating. The Knicks are up there as well, and a key strength for them is rebounding, sitting 6th in offensive rebounding rate. The Cavs are the 5th-best defensive-rebounding team.

Couple it all together, and the Cavs should be able to limit the strength of the Knicks, who don’t have many quality wins.

Taking on a team that actually made the playoffs last season, the Cavs are in for a test Sunday. They’ll meet All-Star F Julius Randle and the Knicks who are coming off a thrilling comeback win at the Milwaukee Bucks.

Both teams have a positive ATS record with the Cavs 7-3 and the Knicks 5-4.

At -340, the Knicks are just too pricey. I don’t hate betting on Cleveland for the value given, but shorthanded some key scorers and without a solid wing defender, I’m passing on its value as well.

Against the spread

BET CAVALIERS +7.5 (-120) as they have been a covering machine. Having won six of 10 games, you wouldn’t think they’d be getting over a touchdown on the road. However, at +7.5, I like the CAVALIERS.

Down Love and Markkanen, the Cavs’ weak rebounding should actually improve. They actually have a superior defensive rating as well as a top-20 offensive rating.

With Garland and SG Collin Sexton as playmakers, they should be able to stay close. The shifty backcourt should give former MVP Derrick Rose, who propelled the Knicks comeback, problems.

The Cavaliers rank bottom five in turnover percentage but the Knicks rank bottom 10 in opponents’ turnovers per game. Put it all together, and I expect at least a reasonably close game.

Over/Under

“LEAN” UNDER 207.5 (-110) as the better of the two sides.

The Cavaliers are down several key scorers. One of their numerous players hitting double figures is C Jarrett Allen. He may have his hands full with Knicks C Mitchell Robinson, who has proven to be impactful when healthy.

The Cavs’ strength is on the defensive end while the Knicks have a top-four offensive rating. The Cavaliers rank in the top half of opponents’ 3-point field-goal percentage with the Knicks a top-four team in 3-pointers made.

Combine it all, and the Under feels like the better bet.

The Knicks have to be eager to be back in the Garden after playing six of their last seven games on the road. Following a 106-103 loss at Cleveland Jan. 15, New York won three straight and then dropped three in a row (4-2 against the spread in those six games) entering Friday’s game.

These teams split their first two meetings this season. Prior to their 106-103 loss in the previous game, the Knicks won and covered four in a row against the Cavs.

I’m pretty much looking to fade the market here, which has steamed the Cavs up to slight favorites after bookmakers opened them as slight dogs.

The Cavs won three in a row from Jan. 15-22, with the 106-103 win over the Knicks followed by back-to-back wins over the Brooklyn Nets. My read on the pro-Cavs money is the market overvaluing these wins, especially against a Nets team that doesn’t compete defensively. Brooklyn will out-score the competition more often than not but isn’t really trying to defend anyone.

It’s the polar opposite for the Knicks, who have the seventh-best defensive rating and hold opponents to the lowest effective field-goal percentage. New York had a subpar defensive outing in its loss to Cleveland but the Cavs are 28th in offensive turnover percentage and 24th in effective field-goal percentage.

New York and Cleveland mirror each other in a lot of ways but thus far the Knicks have been more efficient. The Cavs are lower ranked in both offensive and defensive ratings.

I’ll TAKE the KNICKS (+100) for 1 unit.

As you can see, BetMGM’s projection lines up with my prediction and if the line is right, there’s no value in betting it. The market is hammering the Over and moved the total up from a 205-point opener so I lean Over but not enough to place a wager.
