New York Rangers at Carolina Hurricanes Game 7 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s New York Rangers at Carolina Hurricanes Game 7 odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The New York Rangers and Carolina Hurricanes meet for Game 7 of their Eastern Conference Semifinals playoff series Monday at PNC Arena in Raleigh, N.C. The series is tied 3-3. Puck drop is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we look at the Rangers vs. Hurricanes Game 7 odds and lines, and make our expert NHL picks, predictions and bets.

The Rangers hit the road for this decisive Game 7, looking to improve upon their 1-5 record away from Madison Square Garden. The good news is that New York has posted a 7-1 record in its last 8 Game 7 chances.

The Hurricanes are a perfect 7-0 at home in these playoffs, the longest streak to start the playoffs since 2014. They’re also a perfect 6-0 in Game 7 contests since the franchise relocated from Hartford to Carolina. The team’s 7 home victories in the playoffs are its most since winning 10 en route to the 2006 Stanley Cup title.

  • Over/Under (O/U): 5.5 (O: +112 | U: -140)

Rangers at Hurricanes projected goalies

Igor Shesterkin (7-5-0, 2.74 GAA, .926 SV% – postseason) vs. Antti Raanta (6-5-0, 2.20 GAA, .924 SV%, 1 SO – postseason)

Shesterkin turned aside 37 of the 39 shots he faced in Game 6 at MSG. He’s posted a 2.02 GAA and .926 SV% in the 3 road games in this series despite being 0-3 at PNC Arena.

Raanta was yanked in Game 6 after allowing 3 goals on the first 13 shots, replaced by rookie G Pyotr Kochetkov. He’s been on fire on home ice in this series, going 3-0 with a 0.66 GAA and .970 SV% at PNC Arena.

Rangers at Hurricanes picks and predictions

Prediction

Hurricanes 2, Rangers 1

Money line

The HURRICANES (-150) are moderate favorites on home ice in Game 7, and they should be able to get it done and advance to face the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Eastern Conference Final. While the Rangers have been money at home, they have struggled away from MSG in these playoffs. New York is just 1-5 in its last 6 road playoff outings.

Against the spread

The Rangers +1.5 (-220) will cost you more than two times your potential return, and that’s just too much risk for a little bit of insurance.

PASS.

Over/Under

The UNDER 5.5 (-140) is the best bet on the board, as goals have been at a premium in this series at PNC Arena. The Rangers and Hurricanes have combined for 9 total goals in 3 games in Raleigh (just 3.0 GPG). With everything on the line, these teams should see few scoring opportunities.

Carolina Hurricanes at New York Rangers Game 6 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Carolina Hurricanes at New York Rangers Game 6 odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Carolina Hurricanes and New York Rangers meet for Game 6 of their Eastern Conference Semifinals playoff series Saturday at Madison Square Garden in New York. The Hurricanes lead the series 3-2. Puck drop is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET (ESPN), Below, we look at the Hurricanes vs. Rangers odds and lines, and make our expert NHL picks, predictions and bets.

The Hurricanes head to New York hoping their 6th playoff road game will be a charm. Carolina was in a 5-way tie for the most road wins during the regular season, but so far it is 0-5 in 5 road playoff outings.

The Rangers are facing an elimination game, but they have excelled in the playoffs with their backs against the wall. New York won 3 elimination games in the 1st round to advance after going down 3-1 against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Hurricanes at Rangers odds and lines

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 8:30 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Hurricanes -115 (bet $115 to win $100) | Rangers -105 (bet $105 to win $100)
  • Against the spread (ATS): Hurricanes -1.5 (+205) | Rangers +1.5 (-300)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 5.5 (O: +120 | U: -150)

Hurricanes at Rangers projected goalies

Antti Raanta (6-4-0, 1.99 GAA, .931 SV%, 1 SO – postseason) vs. Igor Shesterkin (6-5-0, 2.80 GAA, .924 SV% – postseason)

Raanta has been on fire in these playoffs, easily the most experience he has ever had in the postseason. He has allowed 2 or fewer goals in 5 of his past 6 starts, with the lone exception being 4 goals allowed in Game 5.

Shesterkin has allowed 3 or fewer goals in each of his last 8 starts since getting pulled in Game 4 in Pittsburgh in the 1st round. He allowed just 1 goal on 31 shots in his most recent home start against Carolina in Game 4 of this series.

[tipico]

Hurricanes at Rangers picks and predictions

Prediction

Hurricanes 3, Rangers 2

Money line

The HURRICANES (-115) are slight favorites in this elimination game, as the books give them the edge. Carolina is due for a victory, and it appeared to solve its power-play problems with a goal on the man advantage in Game 5. Still, the Hurricanes are just 1-for-21 on the power play on the road in the postseason.

Against the spread

The Rangers +1.5 (-300) will cost you three times your potential return if you’d like a little insurance and don’t trust them straight up. That’s not a good long-term betting strategy.

PASS, and just bet New York straight up if you like them. I believe their time is up, however, and Carolina finally gets it done away from home.

Over/Under

The UNDER 5.5 (-150) is a little on the expensive side, but that’s because the total hasn’t gone Over in 5 games in this series. The Under has cashed in 6 straight for the Hurricanes, too. The way Raanta and Shesterkin have been playing, there is no sense changing to the Over now.

New York Rangers at Carolina Hurricanes Game 5 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s New York Rangers at Carolina Hurricanes Game 5 odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The New York Rangers and Carolina Hurricanes meet for Game 5 of their Eastern Conference Semifinals playoff series Thursday at PNC Arena in Raleigh, N.C. Series is tied 2-2. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we look at the Rangers vs. Hurricanes Game 5 odds and lines, and make our expert NHL picks, predictions and bets.

The Rangers held serve at home, winning both Games 3 and 4 to tie the series. New York now heads to Raleigh looking to snap a 1-4 slide on the road in the postseason.

The Hurricanes limp home after 2 more failed tries on the road, slipping to 0-5 away from home in the playoffs. However, they’re 6-0 in 6 games at PNC Arena during this postseason. They’re the first NHL team since the 1962 Toronto Maple Leafs to see the home team win the first 11 games to start a postseason.

Rangers at Hurricanes odds and lines

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 7 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Rangers +122 (bet $100 to win $122) | Hurricanes -150 (bet $150 to win $100)
  • Against the spread (ATS): Rangers +1.5 (-220) | Hurricanes -1.5 (+165)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 5.5 (O: +115 | U: -145)

Rangers at Hurricanes projected goalies

Igor Shesterkin (6-2-0, 2.77 GAA, .925 SV% – postseason) vs. Antti Raanta (5-4-0, 2.09 GAA, .931 SV%, 1 SO – postseason)

Shesterkin has shut down the Hurricanes in this entire series, really, and Carolina should feel fortunate to be tied 2-2. The Rangers goaltender has allowed just 5 total goals on 122 shots through the first 4 games, good for a .959 SV%.

Raanta was money in the first 3 games of this series, yielding just 3 goals on 81 shots. He allowed 4 goals on 28 shots in Game 4, but the goals allowed weren’t really his fault, and he made some spectacular saves, too.

[tipico]

Rangers at Hurricanes picks and predictions

Prediction

Rangers 3, Hurricanes 2

Money line

The RANGERS (+122) are worth a roll of the dice as the road underdogs. The Hurricanes have been playing with fire, and easily could have lost at home in Game 1. New York led until the final 3 minutes in the series opener before C Sebastian Aho scored to force overtime. Look for the Rangers to finally strike in Carolina’s barn.

Against the spread

The Rangers +1.5 (-220) will cost you more than two times your potential return if you want a little insurance. If you like the Rangers, just play them straight up instead.

PASS.

Over/Under

UNDER 5.5 (-145) is the play in Game 5.

The Under has connected in all of the first 4 games in this series, so what is going to change as the pressure ramps up?

New York Rangers at Carolina Hurricanes Game 1 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s New York Rangers at Carolina Hurricanes Game 1 odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The New York Rangers and Carolina Hurricanes meet for Game 1 of their Eastern Conference Semifinals playoff series Wednesday at PNC Arena in Raleigh, N.C. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we look at the Rangers vs. Hurricanes Game 1 odds and lines, and make our expert NHL picks, predictions and bets.

The Rangers won 3 straight elimination contests against the Pittsburgh Penguins, erasing a 3-1 series deficit to win in 7 games. The good news is that New York scored an average of 4.0 goals per game in the Pittsburgh series, but the bad news is that they allowed 23 goals across the final 5 games.

The Hurricanes went 0-3 on the road and 4-0 at home in their opening series against the Boston Bruins. The good news is that the Metropolitan Division champions have home-ice advantage in this series, and Carolina won the division thanks mostly in large part to a pair of late-season road wins against these Rangers in April.

Rangers at Hurricanes odds and lines

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 7:07 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Rangers +140 (bet $100 to win $140) | Hurricanes -175 (bet $175 to win $100)
  • Against the spread (ATS): Bruins +1.5 (-180) | Hurricanes -1.5 (+140)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 5.5 (O: -120 | U: -105)

Rangers at Hurricanes projected goalies

Igor Shesterkin (4-2-0, 3.66 GAA, .910 SV%, postseason) vs. Antti Raanta (3-2-0, 2.37 GAA, .927 SV%, postseason)

Shesterkin made 118 saves in the first 2 games of the Penguins series. He posted 79 saves in Game 1, a triple-overtime loss, the 2nd-most saves in a playoff game in NHL history. Shesterkin looked fatigued in Games 3 and 4, and he was pulled in each. However, he bounced back with 3 straight wins to close out the series.

Raanta overcame an injury early in the Boston series to pick up 3 victories, including Game 7. The status for regular starter G Frederik Anderson (lower body) is uncertain, so it’s likely Raanta between the pipes until further notice.

[tipico]

Rangers at Hurricanes picks and predictions

Prediction

Hurricane 4, Rangers 2

Money line

The HURRICANES (-175) are a little on the expensive side, but they’re worth playing based on their dominance at home. Carolina won all 4 games at PNC Arena against Boston and is 41-14 in the past 55 games as a home favorite.

Against the spread

The HURRICANES -1.5 (+140) are worth a roll of the dice, although it will be difficult for the offense to solve a well-rested Shesterkin. While the Rangers have dominated the Hurricanes over the years, Carolina has won 6 of the last 7 meetings overall, while covering the puck line in 4 of the past 6 matchups.

Over/Under

OVER 5.5 (-120) is worth playing lightly based on the first series results for both teams. The Rangers cashed the Over in all 7 games against the Penguins, while the Hurricanes went 5-1-1 to the Over against the Bruins.

Boston Bruins at Carolina Hurricanes Game 7 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Boston Bruins at Carolina Hurricanes Game 7 odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Boston Bruins and Carolina Hurricanes meet for Game 7 of their 1st-round Eastern Conference playoff series Saturday at PNC Arena in Raleigh, N.C. The series is tied 3-3. Puck drop is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we look at the Bruins vs. Hurricanes Game 7 odds and lines, and make our expert NHL picks, predictions and bets.

The Bruins have dropped all 3 road games against the Hurricanes by a combined score of 16-4. This will be Boston’s first Game 7 appearance since losing in the Stanley Cup Finals to the St. Louis Blues in 2019.

The Hurricanes have gone 5-0 in five Game 7 appearances since relocating from Hartford. That includes Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals in 2006 against the Edmonton Oilers, the team’s only championship season.

Bruins at Hurricanes odds and lines

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 7:57 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Bruins +110 (bet $100 to win $110) | Hurricanes -135 (bet $135 to win $100)
  • Against the spread (ATS): Bruins +1.5 (-230) | Hurricanes -1.5 (+170)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 5.5 (O: -125 | U: +100)

Bruins at Hurricanes projected goalies

Jeremy Swayman (23-14-3, 2.41 GAA, .914 SV%, 3 SO – regular season) vs. Antti Raanta (15-5-4, 2.45 GAA, .912 SV%, 2 SO – regular season)

Swayman was dominant in Game 6, allowing just 2 goals on 25 shots in the victory. He is 3-1-0 with a 2.51 GAA and .913 SV% in 4 starts since taking over for the ineffective Linus Ullmark after Game 2.

Raanta suffered the loss in Game 6, allowing 4 goals on 33 shots. The Finnish-born goaltender is 2-0 at home in these playoffs, allowing just 2 goals on 76 shots across 3 starts.

[tipico]

Bruins at Hurricanes picks and predictions

Prediction

Hurricanes 3, Bruins 2

Money line

The HURRICANES (-135) are the play in this series finale, as Carolina has looked unstoppable on home ice and atrocious at times away from home. If this one was in Boston, for sure the Bruins would be the play.

Against the spread

The Bruins +1.5 (-230) would cost more than two times your potential return, and that’s just too risky for not much reward if you would like some insurance. Just play Boston straight up if you like them. I don’t, though.

PASS.

Over/Under

UNDER 5.5 (+100) is the play here, even with two rather inexperienced goaltenders in the postseason. Both Raanta and Swayman are starting their first-career Game 7s. Still, the nerves for both sides will likely mean a slow start from a scoring perspective, and the Under is the best play as both sides will be very calculated and take few risks.

Boston Bruins at Carolina Hurricanes Game 5 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Boston Bruins at Carolina Hurricanes Game 5 odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[mm-video type=playlist id=01fb7dafw2b08817yr player_id=none image=https://sportsbookwire.usatoday.com/wp-content/plugins/mm-video/images/playlist-icon.png]

The Boston Bruins (2-2) and Carolina Hurricanes (2-2) meet for Game 5 of their 1st-round Eastern Conference playoff series Tuesday at PNC Arena in Raleigh, N.C. The series is tied 2-2. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we look at the Bruins vs. Hurricanes Game 5 odds and lines, and make our expert NHL picks, predictions and bets.

The Bruins will look to carry over their momentum from a pair of convincing wins on home ice in Games 3 and 4. The B’s changed to Jeremy Swayman in net for Game 3, and have won two in a row while outscoring the Canes 9-4.

The Hurricanes hope to use the home crowd to get back on track. Carolina bludgeoned Boston in the first 2 wins by a combined 10-3 margin but lost focus in the 2 road games, while also letting some undisciplined play creep in.

Bruins at Hurricanes odds and lines

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 7:30 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Bruins +120 (bet $100 to win $120) | Hurricanes -145 (bet $145 to win $100)
  • Against the spread (ATS): Bruins +1.5 (-230) | Hurricanes -1.5 (+170)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 5.5 (O: -145 | U: +115)

Bruins at Hurricanes projected goalies

Jeremy Swayman (23-14-3, 2.41 GAA, .914 SV%, 3 SO – regular season) vs. Antti Raanta (15-5-4, 2.45 GAA, .912 SV%, 2 SO – regular season)

After Linus Ullmark lost the first two games in Carolina, head coach Bruce Cassidy tabbed Swayman for Game 3. The Alaska native won his first two career postseason starts in Games 3 and 4, going 2-0-0 with a 2.00 GAA and .925 SV%.

Raanta returned to the lineup after being knocked out of Game 2, and while he allowed 4 goals on 27 shots, he played well. There was also a controversial situation in the second period where goalie interference appeared to have occurred. Head coach Rod Brind’Amour challenged, and not only did the goal stand, but the Bruins received a power play and scored another goal. That changed the entire momentum of the game.

[tipico]

Bruins at Hurricanes picks and predictions

Prediction

Hurricanes 4, Bruins 2

Money line

The way the Bruins (+120) played in Boston the past 2 games, it’s tempting to play the ‘dog. But the HURRICANES (-145) have been so dominant on home ice, and until the B’s can prove they can win in Raleigh, you have to back the home side.

Against the spread

The HURRICANES -1.5 (+170) are worth a roll of the dice on the puck line. Carolina lost a little momentum in the first with the 2 losses in Boston, but it won the first 2 games on home ice by a combined 10-3 score.

Over/Under

OVER 5.5 (-145) is the lean here. Eventually we’re going to get a defensive game in this series, and one with very tight checking, low scoring and perhaps even a trip to overtime. But so far the Over is 3-0-1 in four games, so until we get an Under, keep going for at least 6 goals per outing.

Boston Bruins at Carolina Hurricanes Game 2 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Boston Bruins at Carolina Hurricanes Game 2 odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Boston Bruins and Carolina Hurricanes meet for Game 2 of their 1st-round Eastern Conference playoff series Wednesday at PNC Arena in Raleigh, N.C. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we look at the Bruins vs. Hurricanes Game 2 odds and lines, and make our expert NHL picks, predictions and bets.

The good news for the Bruins is that they outshot the Hurricanes in all three periods of Game 1. The bad news is that the Hurricanes won the game 5-1, and Boston didn’t light the lamp until the third period.

The Hurricanes outscored the Bruins 16-1 in three regular-season wins, and picked up where they left off in Monday’s win. Carolina looks to take a commanding 2-0 series lead into Boston for Game 3.

Bruins at Hurricanes odds and lines

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 7:15 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Bruins -103 (bet $103 to win $100) | Hurricanes -117 (bet $117 to win $100)
  • Against the spread (ATS): Bruins +1.5 (-300) | Hurricanes -1.5 (+205)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 5.5 (O: -122 | U: -102)

Bruins at Hurricanes projected goalies

Linus Ullmark (26-10-2, 2.45 GAA, .917 SV%, 1 SO – regular season) vs. Antti Raanta (15-5-4, 2.45 GAA, .912 SV%, 2 SO – regular season)

Ullmark allowed 4 goals on 32 shots in Game 1. He didn’t allow anything in the first period, but the floodgates opened in the second period with 2 goals allowed, and then 2 more in the third before an empty-net goal.

Raanta did a good job filling in for the injured G Frederik Andersen in the opener, stopping 45 of the 46 shots he faced. Only LW Taylor Hall was able to solve Raanta early in the third period.

[tipico]

Bruins at Hurricanes picks and predictions

Prediction

Hurricanes 3, Bruins 2

Money line

The HURRICANES (-117) are worth playing in Game 2, and it’s a bit surprising that Carolina isn’t favored by more considering its dominance through 3 regular-season meetings and 1 playoff win so far.

Carolina has won 7 consecutive games dating back to April 16 in Colorado, the game in which Andersen went down to injury.

Against the spread

The Bruins +1.5 (-300) will cost you three times your potential return if you’d like a little insurance. If you like Boston to win and even this series, just take them straight up. You shouldn’t like that, though. Carolina is going to win.

PASS.

Over/Under

UNDER 5.5 (-102) bettors took it in the shorts in the final moments of Game 1, as the Hurricanes led 4-1 and the Bruins pulled their goalie. Yeah, you know how that one ended. At 17:59 of the 3rd frame, RW Andrei Svechnikov hit the empty net, flipping the total from Under to Over. If you bet the Under, you were on the right side. The Under will cash in Game 2, as the B’s should play a much tighter checking game.

Bruins at Hurricanes picks and predictions

Prediction

Hurricanes 3, Bruins 2

Money line

The HURRICANES (-125) are slight favorites at home in the series opener, which looks like a value considering the dominance they had against the Bruins in the regular season. However, with Andersen sidelined and the backup in between the pipes, there is some risk in playing the home side Monday.

Against the spread

The Bruins +1.5 (-270) will cost you more than two and a half times your return, and that’s just way too much.

PASS.

Over/Under

UNDER 5.5 (-110) is the lean in the series opener. It’s been all about the Under for the B’s lately, going 8-2-2 in their final 12 regular-season games and 6-1-4 in their last 11 as underdogs.

The Under is also 5-2 in the past seven against Atlantic Division teams for the Hurricanes, while going 16-6 in their last 22 home outings.

New Jersey Devils at Carolina Hurricanes odds, picks, and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s New Jersey Devils at Carolina Hurricanes odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The New Jersey Devils (27-44-9) travel to meet the Carolina Hurricanes (53-20-8) at PNC Arena in Raleigh Thursday. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Below, we look at the Devils vs. Hurricanes odds and lines, and make our expert NHL picks, predictions and bets.

The Devils, long since eliminated from the playoffs, have dropped four straight games, and six of the previous seven outings. That includes a 3-2 overtime loss in Newark on April 23.

The Hurricanes wrapped up the Metropolitan Division title with a victory against the New York Rangers last time out. Carolina has won five straight games, including three in a row with rookie goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov filling in for injured veterans Frederik Andersen and Antti Raanta.

Devils at Hurricanes odds, spread and lines

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 7:45 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Devils +260 (bet $100 to win $260) | Hurricanes -340 (bet $340 to win $100)
  • Against the spread (ATS): Devils +1.5 (+105) | Hurricanes -1.5 (-130)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 6.5 (O: -125 | U: +100)

Devils at Hurricanes projected goalies

Andrew Hammond (4-4-1, 3.56 GAA, .887 SV%) vs. Pyotr Kochetkov (3-0-0, 2.42 GAA, .902 SV%)

The journeyman was acquired from the Montreal Canadiens a few weeks ago. He has won just one of his six starts, allowing five or more goals in three of those outings.

The rookie Kochetkov has done an admirable job filling in for the injured Andersen and Raanta. Who would have projected Kochetkov to be the winning backstop on the night the team clinched the division title?

This will be his first home start after winning the first two road starts and three outings overall, including a 3-2 overtime victory in New Jersey last Saturday.

Devils at Hurricanes odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Hurricanes 3, Devils 2

Money line

The Hurricanes (-340) will cost you nearly three-and-a-half times your potential return. That’s risky enough, but it remains to be seen how motivated Carolina will be after having wrapped up the Metropolitan Division title last time out. This game is essentially meaningless in terms of seeding, and the Canes are just trying to get through it healthy.

AVOID.

Against the spread

The DEVILS +1.5 (-105) are worth a roll of the dice on the puck line. They’re playing poorly lately, and have a backstop in between the pipes who has done very little. And the home team is 9-2 in the past 11 meetings, with New Jersey 1-5 in the past six trips to Raleigh. Still, how motivated will the Hurricanes -1.5 (-130) be here?

Over/Under

UNDER 6.5 (+100) is the way to go.

Yes, the Over has dominated for Jersey lately, especially on the road. However, the Under is 5-0 in the past five against winning teams, and 5-2 in the past seven for the Devs as an underdog.

In this series the Under is 17-6-4 in the past 27 meetings, including 7-2-2 in the past 11 in North Carolina.

Carolina Hurricanes at Philadelphia Flyers odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Monday’s Carolina Hurricanes at Philadelphia Flyers odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Carolina Hurricanes (34-11-4) travel to meet the Philadelphia Flyers (15-25-9) Monday at Wells Fargo Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Below, we look at the Hurricanes vs. Flyers odds and lines, and make our expert NHL picks, predictions and bets.

The Hurricanes held on for a 4-3 matinee road win against the Pittsburgh Penguins Sunday as the Over connected. Carolina topped the Flyers 6-3 in Philadelphia, Nov. 26, in the most recent meeting.

The Flyers were dropped 5-3 at home against the Washington Capitals last time out Thursday. Philadelphia has dropped four straight games (0-3-1) since its last victory Feb. 1 against the Winnipeg Jets. The last win for the Flyers against an Eastern Conference team was Dec. 18 against the Ottawa Senators.

  • Money line: Hurricanes -205 (bet $205 to win $100) | Flyers +165 (bet $100 to win $165)
  • Against the spread (ATS): Hurricanes -1.5 (+122) | Flyers +1.5 (-155)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 6.5 (O: -105 | U: -120)

Hurricanes at Flyers projected goalies

Frederik Andersen (26-7-2, 2.10 GAA, .927 SV%, 2 SO) vs. Carter Hart (9-16-6, 2.96 GAA, .910 SV%, 1 SO)

Anderson stopped 28 of the 31 shots he faced in Friday’s victory against the Nashville Predators. He was rested Sunday, as Antti Raanta picked up the win to kick off the Keystone State back-to-back.

Hart hasn’t won in the past three starts, going 0-2-1 while allowing three or more goals in each contest. He was in between the pipes Nov. 12 for the team’s 2-1 road victory against the Hurricanes in the first meeting of the season.

Hurricanes at Flyers odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Hurricanes 4, Flyers 2

Money line

The Hurricanes (-205) will cost you over two times your potential return, and that’s a little on the steep side. Carolina is playing the second end of a back-to-back. The Hurricanes are 1-4 in the past five when playing on no rest. While the Flyers are a dismal 3-23 in the previous 26 against Eastern Conference foes, the risk is still too great for very little reward.

PASS.

Against the spread

The HURRICANES -1.5 (+122) at plus-money is a lot better of a play, even in the second end of a back-to-back set. Carolina is 12-4 in the past 16 as a road favorite, and 20-9 in the past 29 games against teams with a losing record. Don’t get carried away, though, as just two of the previous seven wins for the Hurricanes have been by two more goals.

Over/Under

UNDER 6.5 (-120) is the lean here. Yes, the Over is 8-3-1 in the past 12 meetings in Philadelphia, and 13-6 in the past 19 in this series, the Under has hit in five of the past seven for Carolina against losing teams. In addition, the Under has hit in five straight in the fourth game of a 4-in-6 (four games in six days) situation.
