A look at social media reaction to Carlos Lopez and Fuad Reveiz calling the Tennessee-UTSA football game.

Carlos Lopez (play-by-play) and former Vol Fuad Reveiz (analyst) made history on Saturday in Tennessee’s, 45-14, win versus UTSA at Neyland Stadium.

The duo took part in the first Spanish-language broadcast for University of Tennessee athletics.

Lopez grew up in Venezuela and moved to the United States at 11. He earned a second master’s degree in World Language at Tennessee in 2015.

Fuad Reveiz was Tennessee’s starting placekicker from 1981-84. He holds school records for the longest field goal (60-yards versus Georgia Tech in 1982), field goals attempted (95) and made (71) in a career.

Reveiz was born in Bogota, Colombia.

No. 20 Tennessee (3-1, 0-1 SEC) defeated UTSA (1-3, 0-0 AAC), 45-14, Saturday at Neyland Stadium.

The contest featured two historic moments.

Carlos Lopez (play-by-play) and former Vol Fuad Reveiz were on the call, featuring the first Spanish-language broadcast for University of Tennessee athletics.

“Gracias from my heart,” Lopez said after the game. “I said it before and I’ll say it again, God gets the credit and yesterday we all made history.”

Tennessee quarterback Joe Milton III scored on an 81-yard rushing touchdown, the Vols’ first offensive play of the game. It was the longest run by a quarterback in Tennessee history and tied the tenth-longest rushing attempt by any player in program history.
