Cardinals to wear black uniforms vs. Rams

Kyler Murray will get to wear the new black alternate uniforms for the first time.

The Arizona Cardinals will show off their alternate black uniforms for the second time this season. They will be in their all-black threads as they host the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.

We knew that would be the case because the team practiced in their black helmets but the team announced it officially on social media.

The Cardinals debuted the black uniforms in Week 4 against the Cincinnati Bengals, a 34-20 loss.

The Cardinals have not won in their black uniforms or their road whites. Their two wins came while wearing their home reds.

Quarterback Kyler Murray said the alternate threads were his favorite when they were released. Since he was on PUP in Week 4, he did not get to wear them.

The Cardinals and Rams kick off at State Farm Stadium Sunday at 2:05 p.m. Arizona time.

Cardinals seek 1st home win over Rams since 2014

The Cardinals have an eight-game losing streak at home against the Rams.

The Arizona Cardinals take on the Los Angeles Rams this weekend at home. Their final three home games are all against division opponents. They have struggled against the Rams for years. But they have not beaten the Rams at home in a long time.

In fact, their home woes against the Rams predate even head coach Sean McVay.

The Cardinals have not beaten the Rams at home since 2014.

Including one postseason matchup after the 2021 season, the Rams and McVay are 12-2 against the Cardinals.

But even before McVay, when Jeff Fisher was coaching the Rams, the Cardinals lost their home games to the Rams in 2015 and 2016.

Since they beat the Rams in 2014, here are the scores in their home games against the Rams:

  • 2015: Rams 24, Cardinals 22
  • 2016: Rams 17, Cardinals 13
  • 2017: Rams 32, Cardinals 16
  • 2018: Rams 31, Cardinals 9
  • 2019: Rams 34, Cardinals 7
  • 2020: Rams 38, Cardinals 28
  • 2021: Rams 30, Cardinals 23
  • 2022: Rams 20, Cardinals 12

The Cardinals and Rams kick off Sunday at 2:05 p.m. Arizona time. Hopefully, the eight-game losing streak the Cardinals have at home against the Rams comes to a close.

Rams RB Kyren Williams set to return vs. Cardinals

Williams has been on IR since he rushed for 158 yards in a 26-9 win over the Cardinals. He is expected to return this week against Arizona.

Los Angeles Rams running back Kyren Williams had a huge game against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 6. He has not played since. That will change this weekend when the Cardinals host the Rams.

Williams’ return will be against the Cardinals.

Williams sprained his ankle in Week 6 against Arizona when he had 158 rushing yards and a touchdown on 20 attempts.

He has been on injured reserve and is expected to return.

The Rams beat the Cardinals 26-9 with Williams’ big game.

Since then, L.A.’s offense has sputtered, averaging 14.3 points per games in the four games since then, never scoring more than 20.

Rams WR Cooper Kupp day-to-day with sprained ankle

Kupp suffered a sprained ankle against the Seahawks and could miss the game against the Cardinals this week.

The Arizona Cardinals could miss one of the Los Angeles Rams’ best players on Sunday when they host them in Week 12. Wide receiver Cooper Kupp could miss the game, having suffered an ankle injury in the team’s win over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Kupp is considered day-to-day.

Kupp has dealt with ankle issues before so the Rams will be careful with him this week.

Kupp has only played in six games this season. In those six games, he has caught 24 passes for 375 yards and a touchdown.

The Cardinals host the Rams on Sunday at State Farm Stadium at 2:05 p.m. Arizona time.

Cardinals LB Kyzir White headed to IR with torn biceps

White played every snap of the season before his injury. He likely will not play another snap this season.

The Arizona Cardinals have suffered another bg blow to their defense. The latest is linebacker and team captain Kyzir White. Head coach Jonathan Gannon announced Monday White would be placed on injured reserve with a torn biceps.

Before the injury, he had played every defensive snap of the season. Per Darren Urban, White won’t play another snap this season.

It is the third torn biceps on defense this season. Defensive linemen L.J. Collier and Carlos Watkins also suffered torn biceps.

White actually stayed on the field a few plays with the injury.

“It was kind of gut-wrenching to watch because I didn’t know he tore his bicep and he’s out there playing with one arm,” Gannon said.

His loss means Krys Barnes will be thrust into the starting lineup. Barnes had an interception on Sunday after White exited the game.
