DL L.J. Collier placed on IR, could miss significant time

Collier is expected to need surgery to repair his injured biceps.

The Arizona Cardinals announced a number of roster moves on Saturday in preparation for their Week 1 matchup with the New York Giants. Among them, they placed defensive lineman L.J. Collier on injured reserve.

He suffered a biceps injury last week in the season opener. He did not practice all week and was ruled out of the game in the final injury report.

Now he must miss at least four games, but it appears he could miss much more.

According to ESPN’s Josh Weinfuss, Collier is expected to need surgery.

Biceps surgery can often be season-ending.

Collier has struggled with injuries in his career. The only season in which he played every game was 2020.

In one game with the Cardinals, he played 37 defensive snaps and ha two tackles.

We will see whether he will be able to return at all this season. He is on a one-year deal.
