Bucs post job listing for ‘Captain Fear’ mascot

If you’ve ever wanted to be the mascot for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, your time has come

If you’ve ever wanted to be the mascot for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, your time has come.

The Bucs are officially looking for a new “Captain Fear” for the 2024 NFL season, as evidenced by this job listing that recently went up.

Here’s part of the description from the listing:

The mascot performer must be an upbeat, outgoing individual with the ability to interact with all types of people. Captain Fear is a vital component of the in-game experience at Raymond James Stadium.  Candidates must be comfortable performing regularly in front of thousands of fans.

It might seem like all fun and games to be an NFL mascot, but those interested in applying might want to keep in mind that spending hours in that costume during the early-season months in the Tampa heat won’t be a walk in the park.

Bucs mascot Captain Fear is worried about Gronk taking his title

New Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski may have gotten on the bad side of the team’s mascot already.

The Buccaneers are back in business now that training camp is officially underway.

The 2020 Bucs will have a new quarterback in Tom Brady and a new tight end in Rob Gronkowski, who retired from the New England Patriots following their win in Super Bowl LIII, only to return after a year away from the game to reunite with Brady in Tampa.

As you can see from the picture below, Gronk is already in game shape.

But, that picture seems to have worried the team’s mascot Captain Fear.

I for one would love to see Gronk go up against Captain Fear in a WWE-style showdown at Raymond James Stadium during halftime of a game.

And let’s be honest, that would be the least ridiculous thing to happen in 2020.
