Every year, the start of the next NBA Draft cycle is marked by the Nike Hoops Summit. This season’s event carried extra anticipation, as four of the top five projected prospects were in attendance, with the only absence being Darryn Peterson, the No. 1 recruit in the 2025 class and a University of Kansas commit. Headlining the event were AJ DybantsaCam and Cayden Boozer (the twin sons of Carlos Boozer), and the still-uncommitted Nate Ament.

Also in attendance were the sons of three other former NBA players: Kiyan Anthony (Carmelo Anthony’s son), Tajh Ariza (Trevor Ariza’s son), and Dorian Hayes (Chuck Hayes’ son), who played for the Portland Generals.

Koa Peat (Team USA) was sidelined with an injury and replaced by Trey McKenney, while Dash Daniels (Team World) was replaced by Shon Abaev.

Other notable participants included Bogoljub Markovic, a 2025 NBA draft prospect who confirmed his draft entry to HoopsHype, and Italian prospect Dame Sarr, who made headlines after arriving at the Hoop Summit against FC Barcelona’s wishes.

HoopsHype was on the ground all week, covering practices and scrimmages leading up to Saturday’s game, where Team USA secured an exciting 124-114 overtime victory over the World Select Team.

Below, we break down the standout performers from both squads.

Despite the 2023 NBA draft wrapping up less than two weeks ago, it’s never too early for teams to start scouting the upcoming draft classes.

That’s exactly what the Oklahoma City Thunder did on Wednesday when Yahoo Sports draft expert Krysten Peek reported they — along with several other teams — were in attendance for this year’s Peach Jam tournament. The tournament consists of several of the top high school prospects on 84 high school teams.

The headliners were Cooper Flagg and Cameron Boozer, arguably the two top prospects in the 2025 high school class — unless they reclassify for 2024. Both players have offers from Duke and will likely be draft eligible in the 2027 NBA draft class.

Boozer is the son of former NBA player Carlos Boozer, who played for 15 years from 2002 to 2017.

Who knows where the Thunder will be by then, but considering their future draft capital for the remainder of the decade, they’ll likely get a shot to draft either one if the time comes.

Bronny James, Bryce James to face top NBA draft prospects Ausar, Amen Thompson in dream game for scouts

This is a big test for Bronny James.

After an eventful summer of collegiate recruitment, the next test for Bronny James on his road to the NBA will come in a game against Overtime Elite.

Bronny and his younger brother Bryce, who recently received his first collegiate offer, are set to suit up for the California Basketball Club for a preseason tournament at OTE Arena in Atlanta.

They will face the City Reapers, led by twins Ausar Thompson and Amen Thompson, at 8:00 p.m. on Oct. 20. Ausar and Amen are both projected top-10 picks in the 2023 NBA Draft.

While this matchup is a big opportunity for James to showcase what he can against NBA-bound talent in the Thompson twins, it’s not the only big game that this tournament offers.

Miami’s Columbus High School Explorers, featuring Class of 2025 No. 1 overall recruit Cam Boozer, will play against YNG Dreamerz on Oct. 20 and Cold Hearts on Oct. 21. The top recruit is the son of two-time NBA All-Star big man Carlos Boozer.

After the preseason games, the OTE League season begins on Nov. 4.
