Key 2024 Iowa hoops target trims list of schools, includes Hawkeyes

Key 2024 hoops target Caden Diggs included the Iowa Hawkeyes as he trimmed his list of schools to six.

One of Iowa’s top targets in the 2024 class has officially trimmed his list of schools.

Four-star prospect Caden Diggs has the Iowa Hawkeyes as one of his six finalists per 24/7 High School Hoops. The Hawkeyes join Seton Hall, Oklahoma State, George Washington, Richmond and Old Dominion in Diggs’ final six choices.

The 6-foot-7, 180 pound wing is out of The Bullis School in Potomac, Md.

A four-star per On3, the recruiting service ranks Diggs as the nation’s No. 88 player overall, as the No. 16 power forward and as the No. 2 player in Maryland.

Meanwhile, 247Sports rates Diggs as a three-star recruit, as the No. 109 player nationally, as the No. 24 small forward and as the No. 2 player in Maryland.

Diggs told 247Sports’ Dushawn London in late June that he was nearing the end of his recruitment.

“I’m probably going to make a decision by the end of summer and cut down after the live weekends. I’m open now but after this live session I’m going to shut it down,” Diggs told London at the time.

Following his official visit to Iowa City in June, Diggs caught up with On3’s Jamie Shaw to discuss his thoughts on the Hawkeyes.

“The team culture really stood out. Everyone seemed so comfortable with one another, the culture was great. They all ate over at the coach’s house. I got to sit with them, be around them and see how they all interacted. I liked it a lot.

“Our relationship has continued to grow since the visit. They’re real with me. They let me know how I’m playing and what I need to improve on. They like to get up and down. They’re a more offensive-minded team, so if I can come in and bring defensive versatility, then it could be a great fit,” Diggs said of his visit to Iowa.

It sounded promising then and the momentum for Iowa in Diggs’ recruitment has seemingly only grown. Hawkeye Insider’s Sean Bock submitted a 247Sports crystal ball prediction favoring Iowa on July 14. InsideMDSports‘ Colby Giacubeno joined Bock with a crystal ball prediction for Diggs to the Hawkeyes on July 20.

In addition to his reported six finalists, Diggs also holds offers from East Carolina, East Tennessee State, Fairfield, Fordham, George Mason, Marquette, NJIT, Siena, USF and Xavier.

Iowa currently has one commitment in the 2024 class, four-star forward Cooper Koch out of Peoria Notre Dame in Illinois. Koch committed to the Hawkeyes on June 23, 2022.

3-star SF Caden Diggs receives 247Sports crystal ball prediction to Iowa

Caden Diggs, a 3-star small forward out of Maryland, picked up a 247Sports crystal ball prediction to the Iowa Hawkeyes.

If the writing is indeed on the wall, then the Iowa Hawkeyes just might have another name to add to their 2024 class here very quickly.

Sean Bock of Hawkeye Insider issued a 247Sports crystal ball prediction for three-star small forward Caden Diggs to land with Iowa. A 6-foot-7, 180 pound wing, Diggs is out of the Bullis School in Potomac, Md.

The Hawkeyes offered back on May 3 and Diggs hasn’t been bashful since in sharing that Iowa has continued to make an impression on him.

Diggs told 247Sports’ Dushawn London back in June that Iowa and Richmond were the schools he felt were recruiting him the hardest and that he was planning to make a decision before the summer ended.

He also broke down his recruitment with On3’s Jamie Shaw following his June visit to Iowa City.

They’re a more offensive-minded team, so if I can come in and bring defensive versatility, then it could be a great fit,” Diggs said with Shaw of his Iowa visit.

The more the summer rolls along, the more it seems like Diggs might be joining four-star forward Cooper Koch in the Hawkeyes’ 2024 class. Per 247Sports, Diggs is the nation’s No. 109 player overall, the No. 24 small forward and the No. 2 player from Maryland.

Meanwhile, On3 ranks Diggs as a four-star talent and as the country’s No. 89 player overall in the 2024 class. He is regarded as the No. 17 power forward and the No. 2 player in Maryland by On3.

Diggs also holds offers from schools such as Oklahoma State, Marquette, Seton Hall, Xavier, Siena, USF, Richmond, George Mason and George Washington.

4-star, 2024 Iowa hoops target talks Hawkeyes visit, approaches decision date

Four-star forward Caden Diggs revealed he is nearing a decision date and dished on his Iowa visit and what he likes about the Hawkeyes.

One of the top targets in the 2024 recruiting class for the Iowa Hawkeyes is approaching his decision date.

Four-star wing Caden Diggs took a mid-June visit to Iowa City. Reading the tea leaves, it feels like the Hawkeyes made a serious impression on Diggs during his visit.

Diggs caught up with 247Sports’ Dushawn London to discuss his recruitment.

“Iowa, St. Joes, and George Washington came to see me play last week and I would say Iowa and Richmond are recruiting me the hardest,” Diggs told London.

The fact that he feels Iowa is recruiting him the hardest combined with what he shared with On3’s Jamie Shaw about his time in Iowa City makes it feel like the Hawkeyes are in a great spot.

They’re a more offensive-minded team, so if I can come in and bring defensive versatility, then it could be a great fit,” Diggs said with Shaw of his Iowa visit.

Diggs told 247Sports’ London that Iowa sees him fitting in with the Hawkeyes like players such as Devyn Marble and the Murrays did before him.

“They see me being able to score and get myself involved in the offense in different ways,” Diggs told London.

He also revealed with London that he is working to set up visits with Oklahoma State and Seton Hall. Still, he is nearing a summer decision.

“I’m probably going to make a decision by the end of summer and cut down after the live weekends. I’m open now but after this live session I’m going to shut it down,” Diggs told London.

In its updated rankings, On3 rates Diggs as a four-star recruit, as the nation’s No. 90 player overall and as the No. 2 player from Maryland.
