Happy National Cheeseburger Day to all who celebrate — and really, shouldn’t we all celebrate burgers with cheese on them on multiple days, especially on Monday, September 18?
Why is September 18 National Cheeseburger Day? That’s not what we’re here to answer. You’re here to find out about discounted burgers, and we want to get to that as fast as possible so you can enjoy some food that doesn’t cost much.

The 2020 bingo card just continues to go crazy. No idea who had Travis Scott and McDonalds ever working together on, well, anything. But whoever that person is should play the lottery immediately.
On Tuesday, McDonald’s unveiled their new “Cactus Jack” meal in collaboration with hip hop superstar Travis Scott.
Feel free to take a second and read that sentence twice for confirmation.
It’s all a part of a month long special McDonalds is running to boost their leeway with Millennial and Gen Z consumers, according to a report from Business Insider’s Kate Taylor.
As part of the promotion, McDonalds employees are all getting Travis Scott “Cactus Jack” t-shirts and hats. The “Cactus Jack” meal they’re selling is a $6 quarter-pounder meal with bacon, lettuce, barbecue sauce, fries and a Sprite.
So good. This must be what Sicko Mode looks like in real life. Salute to all of y’all who are still willing to eat McDonalds, well, for anything — let alone because Travis Scott told you to. Y’all are the realest.
Now, someone tell me. Where can I get my hands on one of those McDonalds shirts? I’m trying to flip that.
Who doesn’t love a good burger, right? They come in so many different forms — beef burgers, veggie burgers, turkey burgers. They all have their own unique flavor and spin.
Look, to be fully transparent with y’all, National Burger Day was on Thursday. But whatever. Who makes the national day calendar, anyway? Every day should be National Burger day, anyway. They’re always great.
In honor of National Burger Day, we’re dishing off 10 of the best burger recipes we’ve seen around the internet just so you can make them.
Sure, the day was actually yesterday, but whatever. We’re still in the same month so it still counts, right? Right. Anyway, let’s dive in to those recipes.
1. Loaded Bacon Burger
What you’ll need: Burger meat of your choice, green onions, pickles, lettuce, jalapeños, cream cheese, toasted buns, cheddar cheese, bacon slices, tomatoes, salt, pepper, and whatever sauce you choose.
Why it’s so good: The cream cheese and the jalapeños are really what makes this burger different from the rest of the bacon cheeseburgers you’ve ever had. It’s worth a try and isn’t too hard to make.
2. Bacon Balsamic Turkey Burger
What you’ll need: Ground turkey meat, tomatoes, red onions, arugula, balsamic glaze, mozzarella cheese and toasted buns.
Why it’s so good: Look, I know this burger doesn’t sound that appealing at first. But it is, indeed, one of the best burger recipes I’ve ever had. Who knew balsamic glaze could be a good burger topping!?!? Try it for yourself.
3. Cheese Stuffed Burger
What you’ll need: Ground beef, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion, cheddar cheese, bacon slices and toasted buns.
Why it’s so good: Look, stuffed burgers take forever to make. But I promise you that the end result is AMAZING when you do it right. The cheese and garlic powder adds so much flavor to your burger meat. It’s the best.
4. Bacon and Kimchi Burger
What you’ll need: Chili sauce, mayonnaise, ketchup, salt, bacon, ground beef, American cheese, toasted buns and drained cabbage kimchi.
Why it’s so good: If you like Shake Shack you’ll absolutely love this burger. You also end up creating your own, spicy sauce for it which makes it a bit more adventurous than your regular burger. Try it!
5. Fried egg Burger
What you’ll need: Onions, butter, brown sugar, salt, vinegar, black pepper, garlic powder, worcestershire sauce, cheddar cheese, bacon, toasted buns and eggs.
Why it’s so good: If you’re a big fan of breakfast sandwiches then consider this burger the apex of breakfast sandwiches. There’s so much flavor between the sautéed onions, bacon and eggs, and the actual burger meat itself. This is one of my favorites.
6. Cheddar and Onion Smash Burger
What you’ll need: Pickle slices, ground beef, salt and pepper, sliced onions, sharp cheddar cheese and toasted buns.
Why it’s so good: The simplicity of this burger is what makes it so special. There aren’t many elements to it, but the ones it has are powerful and make the burger extremely tasty. It’s also super easy to make. If you’re trying to get something done quick, this is what you want.
7. Black Bean Burger
What you’ll need: Drained black beans, breadcrumbs, grated onion, chili powder, a large egg, salt, pepper, canola oil, Swiss cheese, mayonnaise, hot sauce, lettuce, tomatoes and toasted buns.
Why it’s so good: Vegetarian options matter too! And, though there’s a lot that goes into this burger, it’s very well seasoned and tasty. Plus, it’s much healthier than the ground beef options us non-vegetarians are used to. It’s a break from the norm but definitely worth a try.
8. Buffalo Chicken Burger
What you’ll need: Butter, ground chicken, hot sauce, salt, pepper, vegetable oil, onions, celery, blue cheese dressing, toasted buns
Why it’s so good: I mean, everyone loves buffalo wings, right? Now picture having that on a burger. It’s so incredibly good and spicy. You need to have this one.
9. Nacho Burger
What you’ll need: Ground beef, salt, pepper, cheese sauce, salsa, tomatoes, Monterey jack cheese, Cheddar cheese, flour (for the sauce).
Why it’s so good: If you ever wanted to remix Taco Tuesday a bit, this burger is your chance to do it. It’s amazing and flavorful. It’s spicy, sweet and cheesy all in one which is literally perfect. It’s worth a try.
10. Garlic Parmesan Burger
What you’llneed: Salt, pepper, garlic powder, sliced bacon, melted butter, parsley, a clove of garlic, ground beef and toasted buns.
Why it’s so good: When I first made this burger I thought it’d be awful. It felt like I was making chicken parmesan instead of, you know, an actual burger. But the moment I bit into it I knew it was one of the best food decisions I had ever made. That garlic sauce is what brings it home. With perfectly cooked bacon? Man, try this one. You’ll love it.
That’s our list. Remember, these are burgers. We encourage you to remix these recipes and find the best combinations for you. You want to switch out that turkey meat for beef? Go for it. Want to use a different sauce? Be my guest.
The most important thing is that you enjoy your food. Happy belated National Burger Day.
