Bulls at Raptors picks and predictions

Prediction

Raptors 117, Bulls 113

Moneyline

PASS.

The moneyline could be the better play to reduce some risk, but the Raptors (-125) haven’t had a game end within 1 point all season. The Toronto spread is the better play.

Against the spread

BET RAPTORS -1.5 (-110).

The Raptors have been a covering machine for bettors and are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games. Toronto is 4-0 ATS in its last 4 games with a spread of 5 or fewer points. It is 6-1 ATS in its last 7 at home as well.

The Bulls defense has been atrocious over the last few weeks, and they have allowed 124 or more points in 4 of their last 7 games. Chicago is just 1-3 ATS in its last 4 games when the spread is 5 points or fewer.

Back RAPTORS -1.5 (-110).

Over/Under

BET UNDER 238.5 (-110).

The Bulls have gone Under in 2 straight games and have their top 2 scoring options on the injury report. They have allowed 108 or fewer points in 3 of their last 5 games.

The Raptors are 1-4 O/U in their last 5 games and have allowed 116 or fewer points in 4 of their last 6. They have scored 108 or fewer points in 3 of their last 4 games and have 2 of their top 6 options on the injury report, too.

Take UNDER 238.5 (-110).

Chicago Bulls at Toronto Raptors odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Chicago Bulls at Toronto Raptors odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The 10th-place Chicago Bulls (40-42) battle the 9th-place Toronto Raptors (41-41) Wednesday in the Eastern Conference play-in tournament. Tip from Scotiabank Arena is set for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Bulls vs. Raptors odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Chicago ended the regular season with a 103-81 home win Sunday against Detroit to cover as an 8-point favorite. The Bulls are on a 2-game win streak and are 6-4 in their last 10 games. They’re also 6-4 against the spread (ATS) in that span and 40-39-3 ATS overall.

Toronto beat Milwaukee 121-105 Sunday to cover as a 4-point home favorite as the top-seeded Bucks were able to rest players. Toronto’s victory snapped a 2-game losing streak. The Raptors are 6-4 in their last 10 games and 5-4-1 ATS in that stretch. This season, they are 42-39-1 ATS.

This will be the 4th matchup between these 2 this season with Toronto taking the regular-season series 2-1. The Raptors won 113-104 in early November to cover as 4-point home favorites. A night later, the Bulls won at home 111-97 to cover as 2-point favorites. In their most recent matchup in late February, the Raptors covered as 3.5-point home favorites in a 104-98 win.

Definitely worth noting is that all 3 games cashed Under tickets.

Bulls at Raptors picks and predictions

Prediction

Raptors 107, Bulls 99

Moneyline

PASS.

At -225 odds, there is no value on a moneyline play for the Raptors, who are 27-14 at home this season playing a Bulls team that is just 18-23 on the road.

Against the spread

LEAN RAPTORS -5.5 (-105).

The Raptors have played well ATS at home this season, too, posting a 25-15-1 ATS record in front of their home crowd. They’re 7-1-1 ATS in their last 9 home games against a team with a losing road record. Plus, the Raptors are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games after allowing 100 or more points in their previous game and 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 games against a team with a losing outright record.

The Bulls are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 Wednesday games and just 18-20-2 ATS on the road this season.

In their head-to-head meetings in the regular season, the home team is 3-0 both outright and ATS, trends that should continue Wednesday in this play-in tournament game.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 213.5 (-115).

The Raptors have the 4th-best defense in points allowed, yielding 111.4 points per game (PPG), while the Bulls rank 7th at 111.8 PPG. With both teams’ defenses being their strong suit, points will come at a premium.

The Under is 4-1 in the Raptors’ last 5 games following an outright win of 10 or more points and 3-1 in its last 4 home games. For the Bulls, the Under is 4-1 in their last 5 Wednesday games, 3-1-1 in their last 5 games when their opponent allows 100 or more points in their previous game, and 3-1-1 in their last 5 games after scoring 100 or more points in their previous game.

The Under is also 4-0 in their last 4 head-to-head meetings.

Prediction

Raptors 111, Bulls 107

Moneyline

PASS.

The moneyline presents no value for the Raptors in this matchup.

Against the spread

LEAN BULLS +4.5 (-105).

The Bulls’ defense ranks 9th in the league for opponent field goal percentage while the Raptors’ offense ranks 27th in FG percentage. Similarly, the Bulls’ offense ranks 6th in FG percentage while the Raptors’ defense ranks 27th in opponent FG percentage. Expect the Bulls to be able to remain in this game until the end, keeping the Raptors on their toes both offensively and defensively.

The Bulls are 12-4 ATS in the last 16 meetings between these 2 when squaring off in Toronto and 23-9 ATS in the last 32 meetings overall.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 220.5 (-110).

The Under has hit in the Bulls’ last 3 games and in 8 of their last 9. It is 9-1 in their last 10 games following a ATS win, 8-1 in their last 9 following an outright win, and 14-2 in their last 16 Tuesday games.

Chicago Bulls at Toronto Raptors odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Chicago Bulls at Toronto Raptors odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Toronto Raptors (5-4) welcome the Chicago Bulls (5-5) to Scotiabank Arena Sunday. Tip is set for 6 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Bulls vs. Raptors odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

After a 1-2 start to the season, the Raptors have won 4 of their last 6 games including a 143-100 road thrashing of the San Antonio Spurs. They lost 111-110 Friday at the Dallas Mavericks.

Toronto will likely be without its leading scorer and playmaker, F Pascal Siakam. It has 6 players averaging double figures, so a diverse set of talented offensive players should be able to fill the void.

The Bulls lost to the Boston Celtics on the road 123-119 on Friday, yet have won 2 of their last 3. They will welcome the Raptors to the United Center on Monday.

Chicago is led this season by F DeMar DeRozan, who is averaging 25.6 points per game and shooting 49.4% from the field. G Zach LaVine is the other major threat, averaging 20.7.

Bulls at Raptors picks and predictions

Prediction

Raptors 114, Bulls 109

Moneyline

PASS.

Despite being down Siakam, I like the Raptors here, and I would rather take the points than the (-135) moneyline value.

Against the spread

BET RAPTORS -2.5 (-108).

While Siakam is the leader for the Raptors, he’s far from their only competent scoring option.

This game should be more about the Raptors lengthy and capable defense which sits 6th in the NBA in defensive rating. They have the 4th-best net rating in the NBA.

They also have a better effective field goal rate, offensive rebounding rate and far superior turnover rate. Raptors like F Scottie Barnes and F OG Anunoby have the capability to make like tough for LaVine and DeRozan.

Toronto is 7-2 ATS this season and was 17-16 ATS as a home favorite last season. Chicago is 6-3-1 ATS.

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 220.5 (-108).

The Bulls make difficult shots, and that’s what DeRozan and LaVine are known for. They should be able to still score. These teams are a combined 9-8 O/U this season.

The Bulls rank 10th in pace, so they may want to play at a quicker speed. That increases to the 7th-fastest pace when on the road. Expect Chicago to push the tempo here.

Chicago Bulls at Toronto Raptors odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Chicago Bulls at Toronto Raptors odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Toronto Raptors (26-23) host the Chicago Bulls (32-18) Thursday for a 7:30 p.m. ET tip-off at the Scotiabank Arena. Below, we look at the Bulls vs. Raptors odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

Chicago won four of its past five games, including two straight home games over the Orlando Magic Tuesday and Portland Trail Blazers Sunday. The Bulls are 4-3 straight up (SU) and 4-1-2 against the spread (ATS) since Jan. 21. One of those wins was a 111-105 victory versus the Raptors at home Jan. 26.

Toronto won and covered four of its past five games with the lone loss coming at Chicago. The Raptors are 5-2 SU and ATS since Jan. 21.

The Bulls won and covered the first two meetings with the Raptors this season with the Over/Under going 1-1.

Bulls at Raptors odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Raptors 116, Bulls 108

Money line

PASS. Toronto (-210) is too expensive.

Toronto is 13-6 SU as a home favorite and Chicago is 3-9 SU as a road underdog.

Against the spread

GIMME RAPTORS -4.5 (-122) for 1 unit.

As mentioned, Toronto lost a tight battle at Chicago 111-105 Jan. 26, nearly covering as a 4-point road underdog and it was without leading scorer PG Fred VanVleet (21.5 points per game).

VanVleet should make the difference in this game since the Bulls have two missing starters in their backcourt, both of which are above-average on-ball defenders.

Toronto is stacked at the forward position and has the personnel to make things uncomfortable for Chicago wings LaVine and SF DeMar DeRozan.

On top of that, the Raptors are trending in a better direction than the Bulls. Over the past two weeks, Toronto is sixth in adjusted-net rating (plus-4.3) and 12th in ATS margin (plus-1.3), while Chicago is 17th in both adjusted-net rating and ATS margin, according to CleaningTheGlass.com.

This is a better spot for the Raptors, who are 10-3 ATS at home versus teams with a winning record and the Bulls are 4-5 ATS on the road versus winning teams.

Finally, there’s reverse line movement in Toronto’s direction. According to Pregame.com, nearly two-thirds of the cash wagered is on Chicago, but the Raptors have gone from 2.5-point opening favorites up to the current price. It’s a red flag whenever sportsbooks make the more popular side cheaper.

BET 1 unit on the RAPTORS -4.5 (-122).

Over/Under

PASS.

I “lean” to the Over 222.5 (-108) because Chicago’s defense has fallen off recently and the Bulls are 4-1 O/U in their last five games. Plus, the Raptors have gone Over the total in seven of their last eight games versus winning teams.

However, I prefer Toronto’s spread much more than the total, and a vast majority of the market is backing the Over, per Pregame.com. I hate following the herd in sports betting.

Chicago Bulls at Toronto Raptors odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Chicago Bulls at Toronto Raptors odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Chicago Bulls (3-0) take a trip across the border to play the Toronto Raptors (1-2) Monday. Tip-off from Scotiabank Arena is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Bulls at Raptors odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Chicago Bulls, with the help of offseason additions PG Lonzo Ball, SG DeMar DeRozan and SG Alex Caruso, have started the season undefeated.

They’ve taken down the Detroit Pistons twice and have a win over the New Orleans Pelicans, so despite their 3-0 start they haven’t exactly had the most pressing schedule. Nonetheless, they’ve handled business and will enter as favorites against the Raptors.

The Raptors are still without All-Star PF Pascal Siakam, giving top-five pick rookie SF Scottie Barnes ample opportunity to shine. The Raps have beaten the Boston Celtics and lost to the Washington Wizards and Dallas Mavericks to start their season.

Bulls at Raptors odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Bulls 114, Raptors 105

Money line

“LEAN” to the BULLS (-130) here as they’re the most talented and healthy side.

Their trio of offseason additions that have accompanied SG Zach LaVine, PF Patrick Williams and Vucevic have proven to be too much for teams to handle.

While the Bulls haven’t beaten any quality opponents, I wouldn’t count the Raptors as quality either without Siakam. The more talented side should come out on top, and that’s Chicago.

Against the spread

BET on the BULLS -1.5 (-120) as the best value in this game.

The Bulls are surging with LaVine averaging the 12th-most points in the NBA. He’s been terrific, and like with Donavon Mitchell and the Utah Jazz, a true contender can be made with the right players around a score-first guard.

LaVine is going make the Bulls a top team in the East with Caruso, DeRozan, Vucevic, Williams and others by his side. With the Bulls 3-0 against the spread and this being their smallest amount yet, I expect them to make it 4-0.

While the Raptors have quality youth, starting just one player with more than four years of experience should, as they’ve seen, yield inconsistent performances.

With that in mind, the Bulls are the safer play on the spread.

Over/Under

“LEAN” to the OVER 212.5 (-112) as the better play on the total. It’s also a little juiced, giving some reassurance the sportsbooks feel it’s also the better bet.

With Barnes and SF OG Anunoby averaging a combined 34 points per game, the Raptors are starting to figure it out. Those two players are really the question mark with the Over hitting.

The two forwards will be asked to shoulder much of the scoring load, and against a Bulls side that gave up 26 to SF Brandon Ingram, I expect one or both to get loose.

Given Chicago’s offensive talent, they should top 105 and even near 110.

The Celtics, Mavs and Wiz all struggled against the Raptors’ stingy defense. Chicago will put their defensive prowess to the test as arguably the best offense they’ve faced so far this season.

Bulls at Raptors: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Bulls 112, Raptors 105

Money line (ML)

The BULLS (-175) are an auto-click against a Raptors team desperately struggling and remaining without its starting backcourt duo of Lowry and VanVleet. Chicago is expected to be near full health.

Nikola Vucevic is averaging 22.7 points per game with 10.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists over six games with Chicago since being acquired at the trade deadline. He poses a big mismatch against the Raps’ front court, especially if Siakam is any less than fully healthy.

Against the spread (ATS)

Get better value with the BULLS -4 (-110) by backing the visitors to win by at least 5 points.

They covered by 19.5 points as 3.5-point favorites against the Raps earlier this season, and they’re 4-0 ATS in their last four games as road favorites. Toronto covered the spread in just one of its last seven games.

The Bulls are strong on the glass, especially on the offensive end, and they’re sixth in 3-point defense for the season. The Raptors get by on chucking 3-pointers at the third-highest rate in the league, but they’re already hitting at a league-low 23.8% clip over their last five games.

Over/Under (O/U)

Take the UNDER 221.5 (-110) with Chicago’s defense matching up well against what Toronto tries to do on offense.

The Bulls have played to the Under in three straight games, and the Raptors had hit three straight Unders before sneaking over a low 208-point projection with the Lakers Tuesday.

UPDATE: Chicago Bulls at Toronto Raptors postponed

Previewing Sunday’s Chicago Bulls at Toronto Raptors NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

UPDATE: Sunday’s Chicago Bulls at Toronto Raptors game was postponed as Toronto won’t have the required minimum of eight players available due to COVID-19 contact tracing.

The Toronto Raptors (17-17) host the Chicago Bulls (15-17) at their 2020-21 season home of Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla., Sunday for a 7 p.m. ET tip-off. Below, we analyze the Bulls-Raptors odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

The Raptors thumped the Houston Rockets 122-111 Friday to snap a mini two-game losing skid. They had previously won four straight, including two over the Milwaukee Bucks. PF Pascal Siakam has been ruled out until after the All-Star break due to COVID-19 protocols.

The Bulls had a three-game winning streak end with a 106-97 loss to the Phoenix Suns on home court Friday. Their previous three wins each came by a margin of at least 8 points.

The two Eastern Conference playoff hopefuls haven’t met in over a year. Toronto has won 12 straight against Chicago dating back to the 2016-17 season.

Bulls at Raptors: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Bulls 109, Raptors 107

Money line (ML)

The BULLS (+150) are worth a bet as an underdog value play. The Raptors rely heavily on 3-pointers and will need to even more heavily with Siakam out of the lineup.

They’re fourth in the league in 3-point attempts per game (40.2) and sixth in success rate behind the arc (38.3%), but the Bulls hold opponents to just a 35.3% clip from 3-point range to rank sixth in 3-point defense. Offensively, the Bulls are ninth in 3-point percentage, and the Raps are just 18th in 3-point defense.

Chicago’s key will be ball control, as it ranks last in the NBA with 16.2 turnovers per game and Toronto is second while forcing 16.4 opponent turnovers per game. That area of the Raps’ game will also suffer without Siakam.

Against the spread (ATS)

The BULLS +4.5 (-115) are a much better play on the spread, where they’ll need to stay within 4 points in a loss if unable to get the outright win.

Chicago attempts just 19.6 free throws per game to rank 28th in the Association so we need to hedge our money line bet out of fear of the Bulls slipping late in the game.

Over/Under (O/U)

Take the UNDER 222.5 (-105) with Chicago’s strong 3-point defense limiting the Raptors’ offensive output. Both teams also had a rest day Saturday and are without their main interior presence.
