3 keys to a Jets victory vs. the Bills in Week 6

The New York Jets will hope to add a win to their record in 2024 in Week 5. The team will face the Buffalo Bills at home on “Monday Night Football.”

As usual, it will never be a walk in the park in the NFL. If the Jets (2-3) expect to beat the Bills (3-2), there will be a few key things New York will have to focus on against Buffalo.

It will have to be a full-team effort, make no mistake. But these factors could weigh heavy on whether or not New York leave with a win or loss.

Here are three keys to the Jets pulling out a victory against the Bills:

Give Aaron Time

(USAT)

This has been a rinse and repeat one each week at this rate. The Jets offensive line has to give quarterback Aaron Rodgers time to do anything. He’s been on the run too often this season, just like last week during New York’s 23-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

Get Breece going

The offensive line has to help here, too. The Jets rushing attack has continued struggles each week. That makes things tough on the entire offense. New York becomes predictable and an opposing defense takes advantage of it… especially one like Buffalo’s and their stout secondary.

Force Josh into mistakes

(USAT)

The Bills lost to the Houston Texans last week. The one thing everyone saw quarterback Josh Allen was still capable of? Playing a lot of “hero ball.” If the Jets’ front-seven can pressure Allen, he’s going to chuck balls up for the cornerbacks Sauce Gardner and DJ Reed to take away.

Bills’ Tremaine Edmunds out vs. Jets, AJ Klein to start

#Bills’ Tremaine Edmunds out vs. Jets, AJ Klein to start:

The Buffalo Bills will be without the quarterback of their defense in Week 10.

Linebacker Tremaine Edmunds will not play vs. the New York Jets due to injury.

Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott confirmed that via video conference on Friday. The coach added his team will miss the consistent leadership Edmunds brings each game.

“The continuity piece is real,” McDermott said.

AJ Klein will replace Edmunds in the lineup. The versatile Klein has replaced Matt Milano due to injury in the past.

Klein last started a game for the Bills (5-3) in Week 5 against the Kansas City Chiefs this season for Milano.

Edmunds has a hamstring injury.

In Week 9’s Bills loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, Edmunds played every snap on defense. He was not listed on the injury report at all until Wednesday.

Along with Edmunds being out, running Zack Moss has yet to clear the concussion protocol, per McDermott.

On a positive note, tight end Dawson Knox (hand), rookie offensive lineman Spencer Brown (back), and cornerback Taron Johnson (concussion) are expected to play vs. the Jets. Brown and Knox have had full practices this week.

Bills Wire will provide the full final injury reports for the Bills and Jets ahead of their upcoming game when they are made available.
