Milwaukee Bucks at Portland Trail Blazers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Milwaukee Bucks at Portland Trail Blazers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Milwaukee Bucks (36-17) face the Portland Trail Blazers (26-27) on Monday at Moda Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET (NBA TV). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Bucks vs. Trail Blazers odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Bucks defeated the Miami Heat 123-115 on Saturday to cover as 6-point favorites at home. Milwaukee is currently on a 7-game winning streak and has won 9 of its last 10 contests.

The Trail Blazers lost 129-121 to the Chicago Bulls on Saturday and fell short of covering as 3-point road underdogs. Even with the recent loss, Portland has won 5 of its last 7 games.

The Bucks beat the Blazers 119-111 in Milwaukee on Nov. 21, but didn’t cover the 9.5-point spread as the 214.5 Over cashed.

Bucks at Trail Blazers picks and predictions

Prediction

Bucks 122, Trail Blazers 114

Moneyline

AVOID.

Taking the Bucks (-170) at the current odds isn’t advised considering the minimal profit you’ll receive if they win. If you’re able to find Milwaukee at -150 odds or better anywhere, then it’s worth taking the moneyline.

Against the spread

With how well Milwaukee has been playing recently, BUCKS -4.5 (-105) is how I’d bet on the spread. Antetokounmpo is averaging 39.4 points, 14.7 rebounds, and 5 assists per game in his last 7 games since returning from injury, and the Trail Blazers have the 4th-worst defensive rating.

The Bucks are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games against a team with a losing record and 16-6-1 ATS in the last 23 meetings against the Trail Blazers. Meanwhile, Portland is 2-7 ATS in the last 9 games following a loss.

Over/Under

UNDER 239.5 (-108) is an intriguing wager despite the Bucks playing at the 11th fastest pace in the NBA. On the other hand, the Trail Blazers play at the 7th-slowest pace in the league.

Milwaukee has gone Under in 6 of its last 8 road games. The Under is also 7-1 in the last 8 meetings between the Bucks and the Trail Blazers when the game is in Portland.

Milwaukee Bucks at Portland Trail Blazers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Milwaukee Bucks at Portland Trail Blazers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Milwaukee Bucks (32-21) visit Moda Center Saturday to take on the Portland Trail Blazers (21-32). Tip-off is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Bucks vs. Trail Blazers odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Blazers lost 4 straight games, two of which were as favorites against the Oklahoma City Thunder. They failed to cover the spread in all 4 games, dropping their against the spread (ATS) record to 21-31-1.

Having traded two starters (SF Norman Powell and PF Robert Covington to the Clippers) earlier in the week, the Blazers seem to be nearing a full-scale rebuild.

They’ll be taking on a team doing just the opposite. Led by MVP candidate PF Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Bucks have covered 2 of their last 3, being favored by 9 points or more in both covers.

Milwaukee had a slow start to the season and is just 23-30 ATS. However, the Bucks are 10-7 ATS as away favorites.

Bucks at Trail Blazers odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Bucks 116, Trail Blazers 102

Money line

PASS.

The Bucks’ -650 price is too risky.

Against the spread

BET BUCKS -10.5 (-108).

The Blazers have been without Lillard since the start of the year, forcing them to rely on SG Anfernee Simons more. While Simons (15.7 points per game) has played well, the efficiency isn’t there.

The Blazers rank 28th in true-shooting rate over their last 5 games. The Bucks are one of just five teams that rank in the top 10 in offensive and defensive rating.

The Bucks should be able to pounce from the start and not look back. In the Trail Blazers’ two recent losses to the Thunder, OKC was without its best player in SG Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 229.5 (-112).

The Blazers scored just 93 points Friday in a 3-point home loss to the Thunder, the third consecutive game Portland scored less than 95 points. Knowing the collision course the organization is on, continued short-term struggles seem likely.

The Blazers are 25-27-1 O/U, while the Bucks are 23-30 O/U. Milwaukee is 8-9 O/U as a road favorite. Portland is 4-6 O/U as a home underdog.

The trends point to the Under being the better play.

Milwaukee Bucks at Portland Trail Blazers odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Friday’s Milwaukee Bucks at Portland Trail Blazers NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Milwaukee Bucks (30-17) are playing their third of a six-game West Coast road trip against the Portland Trail Blazers (29-18) Friday at Moda Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Bucks-Trail Blazers odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

Milwaukee snapped a three-game losing skid by beating up on an injury-riddled Los Angeles Lakers 112-97, covering as an 8.5-point road favorite.

The Bucks have dealt with players going in and out of the lineup in recent games but won eight in a row from March 4-24.

Portland just swept its four-game Eastern Conference road swing with the latest being a 23-point drubbing of the Detroit Pistons Wednesday.

Since SG C.J. McCollum returned on March 16, the Blazers are 7-2 straight-up (SU) and 4-3 against the spread (ATS).

A fully-loaded Bucks team trampled the Blazers, 134-106, who were without McCollum and C Jusuf Nurkic in their first meeting this season.

Bucks at Trail Blazers: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Trail Blazers 122, Bucks 117

Money line (ML)

Slight “LEAN” towards TRAIL BLAZERS (+115) because I “LIKE” them to cover the spread, but Portland plus the points is a much better wager.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

Definitely BET TRAIL BLAZERS +2.5 (-110) heavier than or instead of their money line. By the way, it’s impressive Portland is seeded sixth currently in the West given its injury issues.

McCollum scores 24.2 points per game and Nurkic is second on the team in on-off court net rating (excluding SG Norm Powell, who has played only three games).

It’s not a coincidence that the best offenses in the Association are good 3-point shooting teams and Milwaukee allows the second-most 3-points attempts per game and is 20th in defensive 3-point percentage.

Furthermore, the Bucks’ defense has regressed season over season and it gets exposed against quality offensive teams.

Milwaukee is 6-7 SU with the second-worst ATS margin (minus-7 points) vs. top-10 offenses in points per 100 possessions, according to CleaningTheGlass.com.

BET TRAIL BLAZERS +2.5 (-110) for 1 unit.

Over/Under (O/U)

PASS because my predicted score is way too close to BetMGM‘s projected total so there isn’t a lot of value in betting it.

If anything, I’d “lean” Under because if this game is close like bookmakers are projecting it to be, I could see this game slowing down at the end of halves.
