Milwaukee Bucks at Detroit Pistons odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Milwaukee Bucks at Detroit Pistons odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Milwaukee Bucks (53-21) visit the Detroit Pistons (16-58) on Monday. Tip from Little Ceasars Arena is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Bucks vs. Pistons odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Milwaukee snapped a 3-game win streak and failed to cover as a 3-point road underdog in a 129-106 loss at the Denver Nuggets Saturday. The Bucks are 7-3 straight up (SU) and 5-5 against the spread (ATS) in their last 10 games and sit at 41-32-2 ATS this season.

Detroit lost 118-97 to the Toronto Raptors Friday, failing to cover as a 13.5-point road underdog. It has now lost 5 games in a row and is 1-9 in its last 10 games. The Pistons are 2-8 ATS in that span to slip to 30-41-3 ATS on the season.

Milwaukee is dominating the season series 3-0. The Bucks failed to cover a 13.5-point spread at home in late October at home but covered an 11.5-point spread at home in early November and an 11-point spread on the road in late January. The Under has cashed in 2 of the 3 games.

Against the spread

LEAN BUCKS -17.5 (-110).

The Bucks are also 1-0 ATS as favorites of 15 or more points this season while the Pistons are 0-2 ATS as underdogs of 15 or more points, and Milwaukee would have covered this spread in 2 of the 3 meetings so far this season.

Over/Under

Bucks at Pistons picks and predictions

Prediction

Bucks 118, Pistons 106

Moneyline

There are plenty of reasons to like the Bucks over the lowly Pistons, but obviously at -750 you can AVOID the moneyline, unless you are trying to slightly boost a parlay.

Against the spread

The Bucks have covered in 4 of their last 5 games after a loss and they are 4-1 ATS in the last 5 games against a team with a losing record. Milwaukee is  also 8-4 when on a rest disadvantage.

The Pistons have covered just once in their last 7 games. Detroit has yet to win a division game (0-7).

BET BUCKS -10.5 (-115).

Over/Under

Trends like the Under for this game. For Milwaukee, the Under is 5-1 in their last 6 road games when facing a team with a losing home record. The Under has also hit in 4 of the Pistons’ last 5 games after a double-digit home loss.

LEAN UNDER 233.5 (-110).

Milwaukee Bucks at Detroit Pistons odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Milwaukee Bucks at Detroit Pistons and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Detroit Pistons (23-57) host the Milwaukee Bucks (50-30) Friday at Little Caesars Arena for a 7 p.m. ET tip-off. Below, we look at the Bucks vs. Pistons odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

This is the second of back-to-back games for Milwaukee who beat the Boston Celtics 127-121 Thursday but failed to cover as an 8-point home favorite. The Bucks are 4-3 straight up (SU) but just 3-4 against the spread (ATS) over the past two weeks.

Detroit had its three-game win streak snapped Wednesday at home in a 131-113 loss to the Dallas Mavericks. The Pistons are 3-4 SU but 5-2 ATS over the last 14 days.

The Pistons ended a 12-game losing skid to the Bucks with a 115-106 win as 7-point road underdogs in their last meeting Jan. 3. Detroit is 2-1 ATS versus the Bucks this season.

Bucks at Pistons odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Pistons 113, Bucks 110

Money line

Slight LEAN to the PISTONS (+175), if at all, because based on the line movements in both the ML and ATS markets that the Bucks may not go full tilt for this game.

Nearly two-thirds of the cash is on the Bucks but they’ve gone from a -275 ML favorite on the opener down to the current number according to pregame.com.

This reverse line movement suggests that perhaps the oddsmakers have a read on who will be in Milwaukee’s starting 5 even though no official injury report has been released at the time of writing.

The Bucks could still get the 2-seed but I’m not sure if that’ll be to their advantage. The Brooklyn Nets, with F Kevin Durant and G Kyrie Irving, are in the play-in tourney and are favored to be the 7-seed.

While Milwaukee definitely isn’t ducking Brooklyn, I wouldn’t be shocked if the Bucks use their final two games of the regular season to rest their Big 3, on the second half of this back-to-back set.

However, since all this is speculation, my favorite wager is Detroit’s spread and only LEAN PISTONS (+175).

PLAY: Free, daily sports pick’em contests. Play now!

Against the spread

Definitely BET the PISTONS +5.5 (-120) instead of or heavier than their ML because the presumed sharp side of the market is backing Detroit. More money is on the Pistons while slightly more bets have been placed on the Bucks.

Since the wiseguys wager put up more dough than the average Joe, it can be profitable to follow the money when it’s counter to the public.

This line also feels suspicious in the first place. Milwaukee has been favored by double digits in six of its last seven meetings with Detroit.

The Bucks were only -4.5 earlier this season versus the Pistons but Milwaukee was without SF Khris Middleton and PG Jrue Holiday.

This is a better spot for Detroit who is 10-5 ATS as a 5-to-7-point underdog, 10-1 ATS in the last 11 games versus teams with a winning record and 20-13-1 ATS as home underdogs with a plus-2.1 ATS margin. Milwaukee is 31-32 ATS as favorites and just 4-9 ATS on zero rest days with a minus-4.7 ATS margin.

The PISTONS PLUS THE POINTS is by far my favorite wager in this game.

Over/Under

Slight LEAN to the UNDER 227.5 (-108) because Milwaukee is 5-8 O/U in the second of a back-to-back, Detroit is 14-19-1 O/U as a home underdog, the Under has cashed in four straight Bucks-Pistons meetings and a majority of the action is betting the Over so we have a “fade the market” angle.

That said, I prefer Detroit’s spread more than the total hence the LEAN UNDER 227.5 (-108).

Milwaukee Bucks at Detroit Pistons odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Milwaukee Bucks at Detroit Pistons odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

On Tuesday evening, the Milwaukee Bucks (3-4) visit the “Motor City” to take on the Detroit Pistons (1-5) at Little Caesars Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Bucks vs. Pistons odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Milwaukee Bucks, the NBA’s reigning champions, aren’t necessarily letting fans down as they’ve been heavily impacted by injuries. However, a sub-.500 record through seven is not ideal, especially over throttling the Nets on opening night.

Led by two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is expected to play, the Bucks will be heavily relying on their bench, as you can see from the injury report below.

That will give opportunity for the PF Jerami Grant-led Pistons. After missing time with injury, Grant is back, and the Pistons should be near full strength for this game.

Grant, SF Saddiq Bey, PF Kelly Olynyk and SF Josh Jackson are the four Pistons that average double figures. The Pistons lost by 26 to the Nets on Sunday.

Bucks at Pistons odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Pistons 107, Bucks 104

Money line

PASS on the money line although I like the Pistons to be competitive in this game, even potentially sneaking out with a win.

Anything under +200 against a team with the best basketball player on the planet isn’t ideal, and a number I won’t be taking. However, the spread does offer some comfort for bettors.

Against the spread

BET on the PISTONS +5.5 (-120) as the best value in this game. Regardless of the outcome, the Pistons should be competitive. The Bucks are down three starters.

It’ll be Giannis kicking it to Allen or guard Pat Connaughton which could be successful for Milwaukee, but I’d be willing to bet the Pistons can tame the potent Bucks offense. Also, Giannis was on the injury report, so he may not be at 100 percent.

As for the Pistons, they have skilled scorers and quality veterans. Olynyk and backup PG Cory Joseph know how to win. With Isaiah Stewart‘s 7-foot-4 wingspan on Giannis, or even the ultra-athletic Grant, the Pistons should be able to keep the former MVP quiet.

This is going to be a game in which the Bucks realize the importance of Bryn Forbes, who is now with the Spurs. Given the injuries and the way these two sides match up, an upset is entirely possible, especially with Detroit at home.

The Bucks are 3-4 ATS while the Pistons are 2-4, covering in just one loss.

Over/Under

“LEAN” to the UNDER 210.5 (-112) as the better bet. The sportsbooks seem to think it’s the better side as well by giving it some of the juice.

That said, given how Stewart or Grant should be able to defend Giannis and given the relative unknown regarding how the Bucks will play so short-handed, this seems to be the better play.

While the Pistons have talent, they rank dead last in scoring while the normally-dominant Bucks rank 16th. Both are in a similar spot in terms of offensive rating while the Pistons are in the bottom ten teams in pace.

Combine it all, and the Under looks like the play here.
