The Baltimore Ravens wrap up their season with two games against AFC North rivals — the first against the Cleveland Browns in Week 16.
Both the Ravens and Browns have been headed in different directions this season. Cleveland earned lots of preseason praise for a roster that looked unstoppable but have managed to stumble to a 6-8 record and a 10th consecutive season without a playoff berth. Baltimore, on the other hand, has won 10 straight games and look to be en route to a No. 1 seed in the AFC playoff picture.
This game matters to both teams greatly. For the Ravens, it’s their chance to clinch the top seed and potentially rest starters in Week 17. For the Browns, it’s a chance to not have a losing season and sweep the best team in the division — two consolation prizes in a lost season.

The Baltimore Ravens continue their dominance over the AFC North standings as the Cleveland Browns lose and drop out of contention.
With their Week 13 win over the San Francisco 49ers, the Baltimore Ravens have continued their winning streak to eight-straight games. This late in the season, Baltimore’s win streak is actually more total wins than any team in the AFC North have. Which speaks volumes towards the AFC North standings after Week 13.
The Ravens sit at the top of the division and with their loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers this week, the Cleveland Browns have officially been eliminated from contention in the AFC North. With just four weeks remaining, the Browns can only reach a 9-7 record while Baltimore already has 10 wins.
The Steelers have won six of their last seven games after starting off the season 1-4. In spite of being onto their third quarterback of the season, Pittsburgh’s defense has kept them in almost every game this season. While there’s still question on how effective they can be against the top teams in the league given their relatively easy schedule in recent weeks.
And finally, the Cincinnati Bengals picked up their very first win of the season. So at the very least, they’ve made sure they won’t go down in history as one of the few 0-16 teams. But with so few games remaining, they still hold a one-game lead for the worst record in the NFL and the first-overall pick in the 2020 draft.

The Ravens are miles ahead of everyone else in the AFC North standings after a Week 11 win and the debacle between the Steelers and Browns.
The Baltimore Ravens once again handled their business, defeating the Houston Texans in Week 11 handily. Though they were already at the top of the AFC North standings, the week wasn’t nearly as fun for the rest of the division.
It kicked off on Thursday night as the Cleveland Browns beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in a game marred by an ugly brawl at the end. Impact players from both teams are now suspended. Pittsburgh’s loss was already a huge deal, extending Baltimore’s lead in the AFC North standings. But with starters now missing time due to the fight, it’s going to make the next few weeks even tougher for both the Browns and Steelers, potentially putting them further in the hole.
The Bengals are officially out the running for the playoffs, losing to the Oakland Raiders to fall to 0-10.

The Ravens now hold a three-game lead over the Steelers for the top of the AFC North standings, a lead that is effectively 3.5 games thanks to a head-to-head tiebreaker. With just six games remaining, it would take a complete collapse by Baltimore to not hold the AFC North crown by Week 17.

The Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cleveland Browns on Thursday Night Football is the game to watch as it sets up second place behind the Ravens.
The Baltimore Ravens ride high atop the AFC North standings, maintaining their lead in Week 10 by beating the Cincinnati Bengals.
All four teams inside the AFC North have had their bye weeks, meaning we’ll get a chance to see football from the entire division for the final seven weeks of the season.
With a tough schedule ahead for Baltimore, the coming weeks are an opportunity for the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers to make up some ground on the Ravens. It’ll start this week as those two square off in the national spotlight.
First up on Week 11’s schedule is an AFC North rivalry on Thursday night. It’s the first time the Steelers and Browns have met and only the second division game Cleveland has played this season.
Pittsburgh has been heating up after their trade for safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, putting together solid defensive performances en route to a four-game winning streak. The Steelers have come alive in spite of an offense that has been downright dreadful, ranking 28th in yards and 19th in points scored.
The Browns would love nothing more than to beat their division rival and put themselves back in the hunt for a playoff spot in front of a national audience. With a fairly easy remaining schedule, Cleveland could very well get to 9-7 and put themselves in the running for a wild-card berth. A loss here would all but eliminate them from contention.
This is a pivotal game for the division behind Baltimore and one worth watching.

The Baltimore Ravens handled their business and beat the still-winless Cincinnati Bengals 49-13. It’s Baltimore’s first sweep of Cincinnati since the 2011 season and it marks another big win within the AFC North standings for the Ravens.
Baltimore will now finish no worse than 3-3 within the division, an important step to winning the AFC North. With a final game against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns left on the schedule, the Ravens appear to have an insurmountable lead over the division at this stage.
Behind Baltimore is Pittsburgh, with their Week 10 win over the Los Angeles Rams. While they’re surging themselves, owning a four-game winning streak now, they still sit firmly behind the Ravens.
The Browns picked up a big win of their own, defeating the Buffalo Bills in the final minutes of the game to get their third win of the season. Though they remain well behind the Ravens within the division standings, there’s still plenty of season left to completely count them out.
The Bengals, on the other hand, are done. Having moved to 0-9, they’re now guaranteed to have a losing season. Though the AFC North isn’t exactly the toughest division in the league this year, it seems almost certain that a winning record is going to be needed to sit at the top of it. And with the playoffs firmly out of reach, Cincinnati has clearly moved into figuring out what talent they have on their roster and perhaps if rookie coach Zac Taylor will return in 2020.
