The New York Knicks (6-6) welcome the Brooklyn Nets (5-8) to Madison Square Garden Sunday. Tip is set for 7 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Nets vs. Knicks odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Knicks lead 1-0

The Nets lost to the Knicks 124-122 Friday at Madison Square Garden, closing as an 8.5-point road underdog. Brooklyn has lost 4 of its last 5 games, but is 4-1 against the spread (ATS) in those. It is just 5-8 on the season, but 10-3 ATS, including 6-1 ATS on the road. They are led by G Cam Thomas, who is averaging 25.3 points per game (PPG).

The Knicks have traded off winning and losing over their last 6 games and are 2-4 ATS in those. New York has scored at least 111 points in all 6 games, so it has been its defense that has struggled. Offensively, the Knicks are led by F Karl-Anthony Towns, who is averaging 26.5 points and 12.2 rebounds per game.

Nets at Knicks picks and predictions

Prediction

Knicks 118, Nets 110

Moneyline

PASS.

There’s no reason to consider a moneyline play here. The Knicks are far too expensive of a favorite to take, and the Nets haven’t consistently won enough this season to assume they can pull off the upset either.

Against the spread

BET NETS +9.5 (-110).

The Knicks are one of the worst teams in the NBA at covering after a win and are just 1-4 ATS in that situation. They are just 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games and 2-3 ATS at home.

The Nets haven’t consistently won, but they have kept games close. In their last 5 games as an underdog of between 8-15 points, they are 4-1 ATS. Five of their last 6 games have had single-digit ending margins.

Take NETS +9.5 (-110).

Over/Under

BET OVER 219.5 (-110).

The Nets have gone Over in 3 straight games, averaging 118 points over their last 2 games. They have allowed at least 124 points in 2 straight as well. Brooklyn is 7-6 O/U on the season.

The Knicks are 4-2 O/U over their last 6 games and are 7-5 O/U on the season. New York has allowed at least 124 points 3 times in its last 4 games. Considering those trends, back OVER 219.5 (-110).

The New York Knicks (5-6) welcome the Brooklyn Nets (5-7) to Madison Square Garden for NBA Cup group play Friday. Tip is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Nets vs. Knicks odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting; Knicks won 4-0 last season

The Nets lost to the Boston Celtics 139-114 Wednesday, failing to cover as a 10.5-point home underdog. They were led by F Ziaire Williams, who scored 23 points in 8-of-14 shooting. The Nets have lost 3 of their last 4, but they have managed to consistently cover and are 9-3 against the spread (ATS).

The Knicks lost to the Chicago Bulls 124-123 Wednesday, closing as an 8.5-point home favorite. New York was led by C Karl-Anthony Towns, who dropped 46 points. It has traded off winning and losing over its last 5 games. The Knicks are 5-6 ATS on the season, 2-2 ATS at home.

Nets at Knicks picks and predictions

Prediction

Knicks 118, Nets 109

Moneyline

PASS.

There’s no reason to consider the moneyline here. The Nets (+425) are 2-4 on the road and just 1-3 over their last 4 games. One shouldn’t expect them to pull off the upset. The Knicks (-600) are too expensive as a favorite.

Against the spread

BET NETS +9.5 (-110).

Brooklyn has rewarded bettors, especially on the road. It is 5-1 ATS on the road this season, having covered 4 straight away games. The Nets have kept 4 of their last 5 games within a 5-point closing margin.

At the same time, the Knicks are just 2-4 ATS over their last 6 games and have allowed 120 points or more in 3 of their last 5. Their defense has consistently struggled, so expecting them to win by double digits is a hard sell.

Take NETS +9.5 (-110).

Over/Under

BET OVER 215.5 (-110).

Both teams have been scoring well as of late. The Knicks are 3-2 O/U in their last 5 games and have scored at least 116 points 4 times in those 5 games. New York has 6 players with double-figure avaerages.

The Nets are 2-0 O/U in their last 2 games and scored at least 107 in both. Their top 7 scoring options are all shooting 43% or better from the field, so they have been efficient offensively.

Play OVER 215.5 (-110).

Brooklyn Nets at New Orleans Pelicans odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Brooklyn Nets at New Orleans Pelicans odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The New Orleans Pelicans (3-7) welcome the Brooklyn Nets (4-6) to Smoothie King Center Monday. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Nets vs. Pelicans odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting; Pelicans swept 2-0 last season

The Nets lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers 105-100 Saturday, closing as 12.5-point road underdogs. They have lost 2 of their last 3 games while going 2-1 against the spread (ATS). Brooklyn has covered 7 of its last 8 games and is 4-1 ATS on the road. It has struggled to generate much offense, though, scoring 106 or fewer points in 4 games in a row. The Nets are led by G Cam Thomas, who is averaging 25.2 points per game.

The Pelicans, who have been dealing with injuries to 3 of their 4 main scoring options, have lost 4 games in a row. They are coming off a 115-88 loss at the Orlando Magic Friday, closing as 8.5-point underdogs. New Orleans is 2-3 straight up/ATS at home this season. It has had defensive shortcomings over the last week, allowing 115 or more points in 5 straight games. The Pelicans are led by F Brandon Ingram, who is averaging 22.8 points per game.

Nets at Pelicans picks and predictions

Prediction

Nets 106, Pelicans 103

Moneyline

BET NETS (-125).

The Pelicans just don’t have any scoring outside of Ingram, and they’re getting little production from their second unit as well. In their most recent battle with the Magic, New Orleans shot just 33% from the field. Without their other offensive weapons, they have struggled to find any rhythm. The Pelicans have lost 3 straight home games, 2 of which were against teams not expected to make the playoffs.

The Nets are healthy and have a few capable weapons. They have won 3 of their last 6 games and covered against the Cavaliers and Celtics (both championship-contending teams) in their last 2. Considering those trends, take NETS (-125) to come out on top.

Against the spread

PASS.

The spread is narrow here, but the Nets have had 3 straight games determined by 5 or fewer points. Expect it to be close, and take the moneyline over the spread.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 210.5 (-110).

The Nets have gone Under in 4 straight games and have held the likes of Cleveland, Boston and Memphis to 108 or fewer points in 3 straight games. The Pelicans don’t have the weapons that those teams do and may struggle against a solid Brooklyn defense. The Nets are 4-6 O/U on the season.

The Pelicans are 6-4 O/U yet 1-2 O/U in their last 3 games. They have scored 100 or fewer points in 2 of their last 3 games. While their issue is on the defensive end as well, the Nets play at the second-slowest pace in the NBA and likely won’t push the tempo.

Take UNDER 210.5 (-110).

Analyzing Saturday’s Brooklyn Nets at Cleveland Cavaliers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Brooklyn Nets (4-5) take on the flaming hot Cleveland Cavaliers (10-0) Saturday. Tip-off from Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse is set for 7:30 p.m. ET (NBA TV). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Nets vs. Cavaliers odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting; Cavaliers won 3-1 last season

Brooklyn was heartbroken in a 108-104 OT loss vs. Boston Friday, but covered as a 13.5-point underdog. G Cam Thomas put up 31 points, and the Nets won the rebounding battle 51-39. Only 3 Nets scored in double figures in the loss.

Cleveland destroyed the Golden State Warriors 136-117 Friday while covering as a 3.5-point favorite. The Cavaliers led by a whopping 41 points at halftime, and 3 players scored at least 20 points in the blowout win for Cleveland. The Cavaliers remain the only undefeated team in the NBA.

Nets at Cavaliers picks and predictions

Prediction

Cavaliers 126, Nets 120

Moneyline

PASS.

Cleveland (-1000) will pick up this win and stay undefeated, but the Cavaliers are not worth the risk of betting on at this price. Bet the spread and/or total instead.

Against the spread

LEAN NETS +12.5 (-110).

Brooklyn is 7-2 ATS this season and has covered the spread in back-to-back games. The Nets are also 2-1 ATS in their last 3 games vs. the Cavaliers in Cleveland.

This is also the perfect type of game for the Cavaliers to underestimate their opponent with both teams playing on the second night of a back-to-back.

This is a lean because Cleveland is 9-1 ATS this season.

Over/Under

BET OVER 221.5 (-110).

The Over has hit in 3 straight for Cleveland and is 7-3 for the Cavaliers this season.

Cleveland also has the top offense in the league, averaging 124.5 points per game, so the Over is a safe bet here.

Brooklyn Nets at Boston Celtics odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Brooklyn Nets at Boston Celtics odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Brooklyn Nets (4-4) take on the defending-champion Boston Celtics (7-2) Friday at TD Garden. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Nets vs. Celtics odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting; Celtics swept 4-0 last season

The Nets got back on track with a 106-104 win as 4-point home underdogs against the Memphis Grizzles Monday. F Cam Johnson and G Dennis Schroder led the 6 Nets that were in double figures with 20 points apiece. F Dorian Finney-Smith went a cool 5-for-8 from downtown. The Nets have won 3 of 4.

The Celtics were upset as 7-point home favorites 118-112 by the Golden State Warriors Wednesday to snap a 3-game winning streak. G Jaylen Brown (hip) missed that one and is out Friday as well. F Jayson Tatum led the way with a game-high 32 points, and G Derrick White pitched in 26 points, helped by 7 3-pointers.

Nets at Celtics picks and predictions

Prediction

Celtics 109, Nets 99

Moneyline

The Celtics (-900) have won 9 of 10 against the Nets, and even with Brown out, I don’t see enough for the Nets (+575) to pull off the upset. The Celtics have a great defense that will limit the Nets’ outside shooting.

There’s NO PLAY on the ML, but I like AL HORFORD OVER 1.5 3-POINTERS (-150). He has 2+ 3-pointers in 5 of 8 games this season, and his secondary scoring will be a key without Brown.

Against the spread

The Nets struggled in Boston last season, but they pushed on spreads of 8 and 10 at home. Well, this one is 12.5 without one of Boston’s best players. The Nets have played well, and they’ve covered in 6 of 8 games thus far.

I’ll gladly take the points with NETS +12.5 (-110).

Over/Under

The Celtics are 1-2-1 O/U in their last 4, and the Nets are 1-3. The two meetings in Boston both went Under last season.

I like UNDER 221.5 (-115) here. The Nets rely on outside shooting, which the Celtics will prioritize taking away, and again, Boston is without one of its best players.

Bulls at Nets picks and predictions

Prediction

Bulls 116, Nets 113

Moneyline

BET BULLS (+100).

Both teams have been playing well over their last few games and both have wins over the Memphis Grizzlies and Milwaukee Bucks. However, the Bulls offense is more reliable, and Chicago has been playing well on the road.

The Bulls have won 2 straight road games and have their top 2 scorers shooting at least 50% from the field. Only one of Brooklyn’s top 3 scorers is at that percentage, and those are the only 3 averaging over 12 PPG.

Take Chicago as it is the more efficient offense and has competed well away from home. Back BULLS (+100).

Against the spread

PASS.

Given the small size of the spread and the way the Bulls have been playing  on the road, look toward the moneyline for the value here and avoid an ATS play.

Over/Under

BET OVER 225.5 (-110).

Both teams have been surging offensively and have capable weapons to keep that alive. Brooklyn has gone Over in 3 of its 5 games and has scored at least 115 points in 3 straight. The Nets are 1-1 O/U at home.

Chicago is 3-2 O/U as well and has hit 126 points twice its last 4 games. It has had defensive problems, allowing at least 122 points in all 3 road games. Considering those trends, take OVER 225.5 (-110).

Nets at Grizzlies picks and predictions

Prediction

Grizzlies 121, Nets 107

Moneyline

PASS.

There is no value on Memphis (-750) to win Wednesday.

Against the spread

LEAN GRIZZLIES -11.5 (-115).

Brooklyn is coming off an overtime loss and is on the second night of a back-to-back. Expect a slow start for the Nets, which will allow Memphis to create distance.

With the possible return of Morant, Memphis has a distinct advantage.

Over/Under

BET OVER 226.5 (-110).

Brooklyn has scored 115 or more in 3 of its 4 games this season, including 139 Friday. It has allowed 116 or more points in 3 of its last 4, including both of its road games.

Memphis has scored 123 or more points in 3 of its 4 games this season — including both of its home games — and allowed 124 or more in 3 of 4 games.

Denver Nuggets at Brooklyn Nets odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Denver Nuggets at Brooklyn Nets odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Brooklyn Nets (1-2) welcome the Denver Nuggets (1-2) to Barclays Center Tuesday. Tip is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Nuggets vs. Nets odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting; Denver won both games last season

The Nuggets beat the Toronto Raptors 127-125 in overtime Monday, closing as an 8.5-point road favorite. Denver has yet to cover this season and Monday was the first time the Nuggets scored more than 105 points. It lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder by 15 points and to the LA Clippers by 5, both at home, to kick off its season. The Nuggets are led by 3-time MVP Nikola Jokic, who is averaging 32.3 points, 10.3 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game.

The Nets snapped a 2-game losing streak by beating the Milwaukee Bucks 115-102 at home Sunday, closing as an 8.5-point home underdog. The had  lost to the Atlanta Hawks by 4 points and to the Orlando Magic by 15 to start the season, both on the road. Brooklyn, which is 2-1 against the spread (ATS), is led by G Cam Thomas, who is averaging 30.7 points per game.

Nuggets at Nets picks and predictions

Prediction

Nuggets 110, Nets 105

Moneyline

PASS.

There’s no value here. The Nuggets (-225) are the better team and should come out on top, but at this price, they aren’t worth a wager. Avoid the Nets as a plus-money home underdog as well.

Against the spread

BET NETS +5.5 (-110).

The loss of G Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to the Orlando Magic, while it may not seem huge, has been instrumental for the Nuggets on both sides of the floor. Against a Nets team that is led in scoring by 2 guards, Thomas and G Dennis Schroder, Denver may have issues slowing their offense down. The Nuggets offense has yet to find a groove, ranking 29th in offensive rating.

While they should find a way to beat an inferior team on the road, they are coming off an overtime performance against one of the worst teams in the Eastern Conference and give no real confidence they can blow out an inferior Nets side, especially on the second night of a back-to-back.

Take NETS +5.5 (-110).

Over/Under

BET UNDER 218.5 (-115).

The Nets are 1-2 O/U on the season while the Nuggets are 1-2 O/U.

Neither team has a prolific offense with the Nets sitting 16th in offensive rating; however, the real kicker is that neither team has been playing at a fast pace which should better indicate the amount of points scored. The Nets rank 14th in pace while the Nuggets sit 22nd.

With the Nets 22nd in turnover rate as well, they might cough the ball up, but the Nuggets won’t press them in transition. Considering those style trends to open the season, back UNDER 218.5 (-115).
