The Denver Broncos (9-5) visit the LA Chargers (8-6), bringing the AFC playoff race to Thursday Night Football in Week 16. Kickoff from SoFi Stadium is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET (Prime Video). Below, we look at Broncos vs. Chargers odds from BetMGM Sportsbook’s NFL odds before making our expert NFL picks and predictions later in the week.
Los Angeles won at Denver 23-16 in Week 6 in their first meeting of the 2024-25 season. The Chargers covered as 3-point favorites and the Over (37) came in. Chapter 2 sees both clubs with seasoned coaches jostling for positioning in the NFL playoffs: The Broncos sit sixth and the Bolts occupy the seventh and final seed in the AFC playoffs. Neither can win the division after the Kansas City Chiefs clinched the AFC West.
Coach Sean Payton’s Broncos ride a 4-game win streak into TNF, most recently stampeding past the Indianapolis Colts 31-13 Sunday in Week 15. Denver covered as a 4.5-point home favorite and the Over (43.5) cashed. The Broncos recorded 5 takeaways, and rookie QB Bo Nix’s 3 TD passes helped lead the home team on a 24-point unanswered run to close it out.
Meanwhile, coach Jim Harbaugh’s Chargers suffered a demoralizing 40-17 loss Sunday as 3-point home favorites to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers — the Over (46) hit. This game saw its own wild second-half run, this time by the Bucs rattling off 27 consecutive points to run away with the victory.
The early look at these Chargers vs. Broncos lines paints a picture that might be an underestimation of how many points will be scored — and whether the correct team is favored in this game. Check back later this week for the Thursday Night game preview for this Week 16 matchup.

Broncos vs. Chargers head-to-head
The Broncos lead the all-time series 73-56-1, including 1-0 in the postseason. Since the start of the 2019-20 season, Denver owns a 7-4 advantage.
As noted above, Harbaugh toppled Denver in his first meeting at the Chargers helm.
In 2023, the Payton-led Broncos swept the series during what would be Brandon Staley’s final season in LA.
The Chargers have kept their elite personnel and added a better coach. Denver supplemented Payton with an uneven but talented QB in Nix.
Ergo, plenty has changed even since last season’s pair of games, so tread carefully when using data from 2023.
