Scouting report

Via 247Sports’ Allen Trieu:

Comes from a background of wide receiver, linebacker and edge pass-rusher. In college, depending on the scheme, he would project as a stand-up edge but can also play SAM or MIKE in some cases. As a senior, he played some MIKE for his team. Athletic background allows him to do well in coverage and came away with several interceptions as a senior. Has quickness and agility as a pass rusher. Still filling in and getting stronger as well as developing a technical arsenal of pass rush moves and counters. Trajectory is going up and versatility allows him to fit in a variety of schemes and situational packages.

Michigan football nabs 2023 three-star from Ohio

Nabbing one from that state down south the day before The Game! #GoBlue

Things are starting to heat up for Michigan football on the recruiting trail.

With The Game just a day away and early signing day a few weeks from now, the Wolverines are in need of adding to the 2023 class. On Friday, they did just that.

2023 Cincinnati (Ohio) Princeton three-star athlete Breton Ishmail is athletic enough to play wide receiver, but he translates more to linebacker or edge rusher at the college level. He has offers from Cincinnati, Tennessee, Kentucky, Purdue, and West Virginia — among others — but ultimately made the decision to pledge to Michigan football, making his announcement via Twitter on Friday afternoon.

He is the 17th pledge in the 2023 class.

The Wolverines have had good luck recently when it’s come to underrated players from the state of Ohio, with Rod Moore coming in as a three-star and now starting for the maize and blue in his second year.

According to 247Sports’ Allen Trieu, Ishmail is a versatile prospect that can do a lot on both sides of the ball.
