Glasnow is coming off his best start of the season (2 ER, 1 BB, 13 SO in 7 IP), but he totes a 5.14 ERA into Monday’s contest at Yankee Stadium.

• Glasnow has struggled away from Tropicana Field this season (5.0 BB/9, 5.65 ERA).
• The heavily scout-and-analytics-armed Yankees are among the best in the league in banging out big numbers when seeing pitchers multiple times. On Monday, they are seeing Glasnow for a third time this month.

Cole has registered a 3.51 ERA through seven starts. He’s coming off a shaky road turn against the Braves (5 ER in 5 IP). The Yankee ace coughed up 3 HR in that start and has yielded five round-trippers over his last 11.2 IP.

• Cole has walked just two batters while striking out 22 men over his last 19.2 IP at home. That stretch includes a 10-strikeout performance against Tampa Bay (Aug. 19).

The Rays are 18-4 since Aug. 7, and that mark includes going 6-1 against these Yankees. In fact, that mark includes taking six of seven from a healthier version of the 2020 New York Yankees.

And while New York is indeed banged up, and its pitching isn’t intact after playing three doubleheaders over the last seven day, the price on Cole here is attractive. The Rays are a few games overcooked with their .686 win percentage, and Cole mitigates much of New York’s bullpen disarray. LOOK FOR A LINE CORRECTION INTO THE -140s, BUT THE YANKEES (-150) ARE THE LEAN.

RHP Chris Mazza vs. LHP J.A. Happ

Mazza aced the Yankees on Aug. 1, holding them scoreless in a 2-2/3-inning relief stint. The contest marked his first (and only) game of 2020 and the 10th of his career. Sunday’s start will be the first of Mazza’s career.

• The 30-year-old right-hander starts this one for a team with its pitching in shambles. Through Saturday, BoSox starting pitchers have notched a 6.95 ERA (29th MLB); the bullpen owns a mark of 5.44 (23rd).

Happ has been awful through two starts. The Yankee hurler is halfway (or perhaps two-thirds) on the outside-looking-in on the New York rotation. He hasn’t appeared in a game since Aug. 5. Happ has pitched 7 IP, allowing 8 ER in the process this season.  His 4.91 ERA last season marked his highest since 2011.

• Current Boston bats own a shaky .610 OPS and .130 isolated power against the veteran port-sider. A year ago, Happ started four games against the Sox, posting a 3.09 ERA.

RHP Huascar Ynoa vs. RHP Masahiro Tanaka

Ynoa made his first career start Aug. 9 against the Philadelphia Phillies. The 22-year-old Dominican fire-baller went 2 1/3 IP, allowing a run on a hit and a walk. He made two relief appearances in 2019, Wednesday’s game will mark the fourth of his career.

• Ynoa has swing-and-miss stuff (more than a strikeout per inning at Double-A and Triple-A a year ago), but his work in this one figures to be of one-time-through-the order variety.

Tanaka is coming off a fine start at the Tampa Bay Rays (5 IP, 0 runs, 5 strikeouts), and his velocity has been impressive thus far. Injured (concussion) at the outset of the season, the Yankee right-hander has clocked a 1.17 ERA through two starts.

• Tanaka has a 3.13 ERA over his last nine starts at Yankee Stadium.
• Because of his head injury — one sustained in Summer Camp — Tanaka has been on a short leash. He threw 51 pitches in his regular-season debut and 59 in his second start.
