The Seahawks made one minor move today, releasing center Brad Lundblade from their practice squad.

Lundblade only signed last week. While there’s no reports yet, Seattle will probably bring in another practice squad player over the next few days to take his place.

This move could be a sign of the organization’s faith in their interior depth, which they’d have good reason for. Last week Ethan Pocic replaced Kyle Fuller in the starting lineup and did an excellent job. Pocic blocked well most of the game, as did the rest of the line.

We can assume Pocic will continue starting going forward, bumping Fuller and Dakoda Shepley down the depth chart and Lundblade out of the picture.

Here’s Seattle’s updated practice squad heading into Week 8.

Seahawks sign Damon ‘Snacks’ Harrison to the active roster

The Seattle Seahawks have officially signed defensive tackle Damon “Snacks” Harrison from the practice squad to the active roster.

The Seattle Seahawks were busy Monday afternoon, announcing a number of roster moves to start Week 12. Along with placing tight veteran Greg Olsen on injured reserve, Seattle officially promoted Damon “Snacks” Harrison from the practice squad to the active roster.

The Seahawks had first signed Harrison to the practice squad in October to give him time to catch up with his conditioning and game planning. He was elevated twice already to the game-day roster – the max allowed this season.

In addition, it seems some other teams were in the hunt to snag Harrison from Seattle’s practice squad – including the Packers and Ravens – according to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network.

The Seahawks also signed center Brad Lundblade on Monday, filling Harrison’s spot on the practice squad roster. Lundblade has spent time with the Bengals, Jets, Panthers and Seahawks since he entered the league undrafted in 2018.

Jets add WR Jeff Smith after sending CB Kyron Brown to IR

The Jets can’t escape the injury bug, yet again, as they send another player to the injured reserve list.

The Jets can’t escape the injury bug, as they sent another player to the injured reserve list on Monday.

Forced to start Kyron Brown at cornerback this past weekend, the Akron product left Sunday’s game with a quad injury. That makes 16 Jets to land on IR this season.

As a result, New York filled the void on their roster by signing wide receiver Jeff Smith. Another undrafted free agent, Smith got his start by signing on to the Jets’ practice squad in September.

The wideout started his career at Boston College as a quarterback. Following his freshman campaign, he made the position change, leading to 72 catches for 1,078 yards and nine touchdowns over the next three years.

Smith possesses a versatile skill set that came to life as a Golden Eagle. Boston College utilized him in the ground game, as well. Smith recorded 902 yards and another nine scores as a rusher.

With a new whole on their practice squad after promoting Smith, the Jets added offensive lineman Brad Lundblade. The 24-year-old spent some time with the Carolina Panthers practice squad before being released earlier this week.

Panthers claim OL Chris Reed off waivers from the Dolphins

The Panthers have claimed offensive lineman Chris Reed off waivers from the Dolphins.

The Panthers offensive line has been a mess all season thanks to injuries and a few personnel decisions that didn’t work out. Today, the team tried to churn the bottom of the roster for more interior depth.

The Panthers have claimed offensive lineman Chris Reed off waivers from the Dolphins, per the team website.

Reed (6-foot-4, 320 pounds) played college ball at Minnesota State. He got his start in the NFL in Jacksonville, playing 25 games for the Jaguars from 2016-2018. Reed started eight games in that time. This season, Reed played five games in Miami.

To make room, Carolina waived Brad Lundblade.

Panthers place RB Jordan Scarlett on IR, promote OL from practice squad

The Carolina Panthers have placed rookie RB Jordan Scarlett on injured reserve and called up OL Brad Lundblade from the practice squad.

The Carolina Panthers have placed rookie running back Jordan Scarlett on injured reserve and called up offensive lineman Brad Lundblade from the practice squad, per Max Henson.

Scarlett was a head-scratching fifth-round pick for the Panthers in this year’s draft. With Christian McCaffrey getting so much playing time we doubted that Scarlett would see enough snaps to justify that pick. In the end, he only played 121 snaps, with just seven of them coming on offense.

Scarlett joins Cam Newton, Kawann Short, Dontari Poe, Greg Van Roten and several others on the IR list.

Lundblade (6-foot-3, 305 pounds) played his college football at Oklahoma State. He could see a lot of snaps this week considering the state of Carolina’s offensive line. To recap, Greg Little is listed as doubtful with an ankle injury, Van Roten is out and Taylor Moton is questionable.

Lundblade is the second offensive lineman they have called up from the practice squad this week. Garrett McGhin is the other.
