Clemson beat NC State 30-20 at home last Saturday. The game was close at halftime, with the Tigers up 13-10, but they were able to pull away in the 2nd half. QB DJ Uiagalelei went 21-of-30 passing with 209 yards and a touchdown while also carrying the ball 14 times for 73 yards and 2 TDs.

Clemson at Boston College picks and predictions

Prediction

Clemson 38, Boston College 13

Moneyline

PASS.

The Clemson (-1800) moneyline is not worth the return for the risk involved in this play.

Against the spread

LEAN CLEMSON -20.5 (-115).

Barring a subpar performance including turnovers, Clemson should easily handle their business and win big.

Although 3 possessions are a lot for Clemson to cover, Boston College hasn’t performed up to par and has already suffered one blowout loss this season, 44-14 at Florida State in Week 4.

The Tigers are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 conference games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games.

The Eagles are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 1-5-1 in their last 7 home games against teams with winning records.

Over/Under

Take the OVER 48.5 (-110).

Uiagalelei and the Clemson offense have not scored fewer than 30 points in a game this season and have put up as many as 51; this is a team that is finding its offensive identity more and more each week.

Expect the Tigers to continue to put up big numbers this week. The Over is 5-1 in the Tigers’ last 6 conference games, so their AAC games have often been high-scoring battles.

Villanova vs. Boston College odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Wednesday’s Villanova Wildcats vs. Boston College Eagles sports betting odds and lines, with college basketball betting picks, tips and predictions.

The Villanova Wildcats and Boston College Eagles tip off their college basketball seasons Wednesday at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., at 9:30 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Villanova-Boston College college basketball betting odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Villanova vs. Boston College: Betting odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 10:20 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Villanova -1430 (bet $1,430 to win $100) | Boston College +800 (bet $100 to win $800)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Villanova -14 (-110) | Boston College +14 (-110)
  • Over/Under: 142.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Villanova vs. Boston College: Three things to know

  1. Villanova opens the season ranked No. 3 in the USA TODAY Sports Men’s Basketball Coaches Poll. The Wildcats rolled up 24 wins last season, and they were in a three-way tie with Creighton and Seton Hall atop the Big East standings with a 13-5 conference record.
  2. The Wildcats lost F Saddiq Bey to the NBA, as he’ll now be plying his trade with the Detroit Pistons. ‘Nova still has a good chunk of its scoring back from a season ago, including G Collin Gillespie, G Justin Moore, F Jeremiah Robinson-Earl and F Jermaine Samuels.
  3. It’s hard to believe, but Boston College hasn’t made the NCAA tournament since 2009. Unless the Eagles improve dramatically upon last season’s 13-19 regular-season record, they won’t end that drought this season, either. The Eagles do get G Wynston Tabbs back from injury. He was out for all of 2019 after racking up 13.9 points per game in 2018-19. The team also added G Rich Kelly, a transfer from Quinnipiac, to help out the backcourt.

Villanova vs. Boston College: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Villanova 82, Boston College 64

Money line (ML)

Villanova (-1430) has plenty of talent capable of starting on any roster in the nation. The Wildcats will overwhelm Boston College early with their size and athleticism; however, risking 14 times your potential return is just foolish. AVOID, and look to the spread instead.

Against the spread (ATS)

VILLANOVA -14 (-110) is the play here, and frankly, this is a bargain line, as Boston College is a mediocre team. The Eagles have some interesting pieces, but a lack of offseason program and practice time together means they’ll likely look quite disjointed. The Wildcats will be the more cohesive unit, and it will show from the jump.

Over/Under (O/U)

The lean is OVER 142.5 (-110), and it’s worth a small-unit play. There’s no doubt Villanova can fill up the basket, but Boston College’s offensive effectiveness is the concern here.

Boston College at Clemson: Three things to know

  1. The Eagles are coming off their most impressive offensive showing of the season, routing visiting Georgia Tech by a 48-27 count. While they’re 3-1 SU/ATS in four games at home, they were routed in their most recent road trip to Virginia Tech 40-14 on Oct. 17.
  2. The Tigers were a little sluggish for a good chunk of last week’s game against Syracuse. Just don’t ask HC Dabo Swinney about it, or you’ll get an earful like some poor reporter did after the game. Google it. Anyway, the Tigers are still 6-0 SU. They beat the Orange 47-21 last week, so it’s not like they were awful. Overall, they’re 2-4 ATS, including 1-3 ATS in four games at home.
  3. Clemson’s offense continues to impress, posting 518.0 total yards (10th in the country), 341.3 passing yards (11th) and 48.2 points (4th) per game. Defensively, the Tigers are equally strong, allowing just 274.7 total yards (10th), 169.3 passing yards (11th) and 105.3 rushing yards (19th) with 13.5 points (12th) per game.

Boston College at Clemson: Odds, prediction, betting lines and picks

Prediction

Clemson 45, Boston College 17

Money line (ML)

PASS. Clemson will win, but it’s definitely not wise to risk 50 times your potential return.

Against the spread (ATS)

BOSTON COLLEGE (+31.5, -115) has the passing attack to at least keep Clemson within four touchdowns. QB Phil Jurkovec has completed 62.5 percent of his passes for 1,671 yards, 12 touchdowns and just four interceptions through six games, and he has rushed for three more scores. He is no Heisman Trophy candidate like Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence, but Jurkovec might be one of the more unheralded quarterbacks in the ACC.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 60.5 (-115) is worth a small-unit wager. The Under is 6-1 in BC’s past seven as an underdog, and an impressive 44-18-2 in the past 64 on the road for the Eagles. In addition, the Under has hit in six of the previous eight meetings at Death Valley.

Georgia Tech at Boston College odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at Boston College Eagles sports betting odds and lines, with college football betting picks, tips and best bets.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (2-3 overall, 2-2 ACC) and Boston College Eagles (3-2, 2-2) meet at Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill, Mass., for a 4 p.m. ET kickoff Saturday. Below, we analyze the Georgia Tech-Boston College college football betting odds and lines, with picks and best bets.

Georgia Tech at Boston College: Betting odds and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Wednesday at 8:20 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Georgia Tech +135 (bet $100 to win $135) | Boston College -167 (bet $167 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Georgia Tech +3 (-106) | Boston College -3 (-115)
  • Over/Under: 54.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Georgia Tech at Boston College: Three things to know

  1. Georgia Tech was emasculated at home by No. 1 Clemson 73-7, allowing 500 passing yards while amassing just 81 last Saturday. The Tigers also had 29 first downs to just seven for the Yellow Jackets. The only positives were that Georgia Tech managed 123 yards on the ground and averaged 48.3 yards per punt.
  2. Boston College was also treated rudely last week, falling 40-14 at then-No. 23 Virginia Tech (now up to No. 20). Still, the Eagles are averaging 305.2 passing yards per game to rank 17th in the nation, and they’re 25th against the pass with just 209.6 yards per game allowed.
  3. BC is 2-1 SU/ATS at home through three games, covering each of its home contests against conference foes. The Under has connected in four of five games overall for the Eagles.

Georgia Tech at Boston College: Odds, prediction, betting lines and picks

Prediction

Boston College 27, Georgia Tech 23

Money line (ML)

BOSTON COLLEGE (-167) isn’t a bad play straight up, although it will cost you. Still, they Eagles have proven to be quite effective at home, winning two of three. Know that all three of their home games have been one-score contests, though, so you can expect a close one that you’ll have to sweat out the entire afternoon.

Against the spread (ATS)

BOSTON COLLEGE -3 (-115) is worth a small-unit play, although I’m actually more comfortable playing the Eagles on the money line. Boston College just doesn’t post a lot of points, and when it wins, it does not win by a lot.

Over/Under (O/U)

The UNDER 54.5 (-110) should be the play you have the most confidence in. The Under is 4-1 in Boston College’s five games overall. While the Over is 4-1 in Georgia Tech’s five contests, including each of the past four, it’s averaging just 18.0 PPG on offense in two road games.
